Carbon ceramics, tires, and some light rims with full exhaust and bolt on mods for 600whp makes a screaming thoroughbred.
2015 Saleen Mustang Coming With Up to 640 HP(Sep 25, 2014)640hp is 22 less than the gt500, but itight come in at 3750-3800lbs depending what materials saleen uses. The sc does add 125lbs but their suspension is usually lighter, and for sure the exhaust and body panels will be.
The 2015 gt is 2705-3820lbs

The 2013 gt500 weighs 3820 and has 662hp (600whp) for a 5.77lbs/hp or 6.36lbs/whp value it's $55-64,000.
The hellcat has 707hp or 650whp (670whp ringer for motortrend) so 6.29lbs/hp or 6.4-6.66

When I got 26mpg, my power plant was a swapped/built 950whp capable 5.4 (navigator)so it's apples to apples engine wise.
This Guy Just Got a New 1,000-HP Ford GT from Hennessey(Sep 25, 2014)A big supercharger car will guzzle quite a bit of gas even just cruising, but the tune on a turbo car is much different. You can lean out fuel tables until about 3,000rpms which dramatically reduces spool time and also helps mpg.

I've gotten 26mpg on a cross country trip with my 03 cobra which makes a lot more power than this.

It doesn't magically take more power to spin the same components just because you double the whp the engine makes. Thermal losses can make a slight linear effect though.
