Shelby GT500 Gets Lambo Doors(Dec 15, 2012)100% stock internals, and valve-train, these 5.4 modulars have handled upwards of 1000hp for a few thousand miles. Just head studs and gaskets.
No rb, b, k, vq, jz, b rotoray, ls, lt, or other car engines can claim that.
A tough block plus
Shelby GT500 Gets Lambo Doors(Dec 15, 2012)Needs 4" tips, those 3" tips are tiny.
My mechanics 2011 5.0 has a 3" with 4" tips tucked in and they look perfect. The older stangs don't flow near as well with anything over 3.5" but the number cutouts and design were much smaller back then
Shelby GT500 Gets Lambo Doors(Dec 15, 2012)It's a $600 kit, I'd love to put an IRS in one of these but the kits are $9k, couple it with an sla front for $5k and you would have an exotic fighter with accessory mods like brakes/tires/weight reduction.
These doors actuator kits fail so hard
Shelby GT500 Gets Lambo Doors(Dec 15, 2012)A used car being sold $5k above retail because of a $600 door actuator kit, a sub, maybe a deck and a catback? What the hell is wrong with these guys.
Good luck, you'll get $47xxx in cash from some dude or chick in january
Shelby GT500 Gets Lambo Doors(Dec 15, 2012)Not a fan, I've seen stangs with these door kits, the door pockets become useless (anything falls out) and it looks goofy. Brawny muscle car with verticals doors? Not really a good combo
GT500 Drags C63 AMG on the Strip(Dec 15, 2012)Yup, if they tested the $62,000 version with the track and performance packs, it would be faster around most circuits than the c63. In motortrends best drivers car competition, the gt500 did great against the c63 coupe there as well. C63 sounds sick
GT500 Drags C63 AMG on the Strip(Dec 15, 2012)In succinct transitional turns, the gt500 may not have an IRS but its sra is very good and the car remains very stable, especially because of the 3.27 rear.
The zl1 and c63 are actually tail happier because of shorter gearing. Watch motortrend comp
GT500 Drags C63 AMG on the Strip(Dec 15, 2012)I love how the trash the mustang and say it won't handle a corner. If wager 8/10 drivers/racers/enthusiasts in the world would not have the talent to maximize the gt500's limits. 1g and 101ft 60-0? Ya that just won't do I guess, zl1 is 1g and 103
GT500 Drags C63 AMG on the Strip(Dec 15, 2012)7mph is a huge difference considering the launched the Shelby like crap. 4.1 0-60? Every test I've seen shows 3.4-3.8 seconds. Yes I know it's a runway but every test with the merc has shown 3.7-4.1 seconds and they ran well in the merc.
BMW Officially Reveals M6 Gran Coupe(Dec 14, 2012)I'd appreciate a flat bottom steering wheel with thicker mid spoke, and maybe a little softening of the center stack but all in all bmw's have great interiors
BMW Officially Reveals M6 Gran Coupe(Dec 14, 2012)Keep the same exterior dimension of the exhaust buttress but just open the inner cutaway slightly to stuff slightly bigger exhaust tips and it'd be perfect IMO
BMW Officially Reveals M6 Gran Coupe(Dec 14, 2012)That 560hp rating is cute but the m5's put down 500whp, these are more like 580hp at a minimum, especially considering they have autos.
I guess modern autos are just much less parasitic or BMW underrated these mills, either way they haul ass
BMW Officially Reveals M6 Gran Coupe(Dec 14, 2012)Might get in trouble driving an m car on LSD.
"What the hell were you doing driving so fast through traffic?"
"Officer, I swear there is a swarm of angry assassins chasing me, look there's another one, hide me! I'm leaving, bye!!!"
Ferrari Creates FF Czech Edition(Dec 14, 2012)I'd rock em and sport an obviously fake Italian accent to be more or less of an annoyance to cashiers. I hate when people come to pay at my shop while wearing canceling headphones then signal to me that they can't hear. Turn em off then genius
Ferrari Creates FF Czech Edition(Dec 14, 2012)Clean. Cries softly for a clutchless footwell though. Dreams of a world where drivers exacted max effort laps instead of piloting computers that can do so.
Eats breakfast and remembers the good ol days
Ferrari Creates FF Czech Edition(Dec 14, 2012)It's more assisted/vectored rwd than awd, it only translates power when it encounters slip via mechanical actuation. It's not full time awd which is a refreshing and cool idea. Above a certain speed, the entire system disables and remains rwd. Sick
2013: The Last Year of the Gallardo(Dec 14, 2012)Not diggn these tweaks but I am diggn what a successor to the gallardo will do to the values of Gallardo's.
If they drop low enough, I'd love to build a tt gallardo. 04-08's are still around 80-125 but might fall to 55-65 in 2-3 years. Hoping.
GM Reveals New Silverado/Sierra Pickups(Dec 14, 2012)very reasonable*
Why beat up an excellent interior? I like that they offer many different trim packages.
I have a customer that takes his $75,000 king ranch hunting and gets it detailed monthly, most of the scratches don't even buff out. Bad idea
GM Reveals New Silverado/Sierra Pickups(Dec 14, 2012)Haha Miguel, I'm the bigger ford fan on this site but I've been laying out the complements on this interior. They did good here and I agree 100% about the interior, they have utility versions of these trucks that have plastic floors, very easonable
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 14, 2012)Patric, if you have tires comparable to stockers your in the 12's at 110, give or take, if you have older dr's you'll run mid 12's at 111+. If you can rip a shifter while flat footing the gas and tapping the clutch for a few milliseconds that is
GM Reveals New Silverado/Sierra Pickups(Dec 13, 2012)Trucks have come sooooo far in 20 years. A 1993 suburban or gm truck was a Neanderthal compared to this. I'm not bashing those trucks but daym, this is classy
GM Reveals New Silverado/Sierra Pickups(Dec 13, 2012)If gm is looking for a headlight designer, I'll take the job I guess, these designs are just off. Something simple with one led strip and a decent halogen is all that's needed.
GM Reveals New Silverado/Sierra Pickups(Dec 13, 2012)Dual stacked halogens in rectangles looks off in a headlight. The chrome is eh, the squat shoulders are ok but they let off into a narrow looking frame, looks like 20" biceps on a dude with small shoulders/pecs/lats
Corvette C7 Prototype in Gran Turismo 5(Dec 13, 2012)Haha Tyler, my tt cobra could easily trash your zr1, somebody is always faster, lighten up. The guy was saying he likes vipers more, specifically his white one. He wasn't saying he bought it to beat vettes. I bet a few civics could woop my car so what
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 13, 2012)Miguel, I could see that, I misread his comments and jumped at them, when I just re read them I realized it wasn't what I thought I read the first time. No need to get all riled so my bad.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 13, 2012)Haha Tyler my buddy's (car and non car people) have said the opposite but I think it's because I and most of our friends are more into fords than Chevys so it's kind of a group think mentality.
I think they both look great but I love the gt500 rear
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 13, 2012)All good Trent, I could well be wrong. I'm just assuming they'll share the lt1 since Chevy likes to share the moden v8's amongst it's top models. I think your right that the lt1 is the all new motor and that they'll share it
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 13, 2012)The next gen will be 400#'s lighter minimum vs a v6 gen5. That will help it be spiritedly enjoyable with a ~275hp t4.
The fun will one when people chip and test pipe the t4 like people do with ms6 and Audi 2.0's.
340hp will move ok in a light car
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 13, 2012)Fyi* I'm at 4600ft of altitude so the times I pulled just n/a back in '08 were high 11's at sea level. I made 425 corrected whp and 375 uncorrected whp. 50whp makes a huge difference on an na car because they are much easier to launch and control.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 13, 2012)I ran 13.3's@109 speedshifting my 5.4 combo (when it was na/breakin miles) and 12.80's@112 power shifting so driving style makes a huge difference.
Anyways what mods do you have Patric? A lid and a y add 40whp for $500 so I'd do those if you haven't
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 13, 2012)Patric do you have a lid/y/cam/any head work? I've seen powershifted ss's run 13.1's on YouTube at 109 in negative altitude (mineshafts) but if your around 2500ft of altitude you'll run 13.7-14.0 depending on shifting if its stock.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 13, 2012)The firebirds were very similar apart from the ws6's and the last firebirds which had huge aero bits that looked kinda tacky.
gt's were always slower than z28 but the cobra/mach were within a tenth or faster from 96-2004
V6's never looked into.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Plenty of regular owners have vids of their gt500's hitting 180+ so you are 100% wrong irregardless of anything evo's article may have insinuated to a careless reader with 0 logic
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)in a way that completely abandoned what a muscle car should be. He was faster in the zl1 but didn't care because he had more fun in the cobra.also he couldn't get his seat right in the cobra because he didn't figure out how to lower it, manual crank.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)And you completely slandered and misrepresented Evo magazine on the gt500.
His own video comparison of the two pretty summed up that he'd buy the gt500 because it was a muscle car that could be drifted easy while the camaro felt slow and too grippy
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)The image of the video shows a red with white stripe gt500 at the Arizona proving grounds.
Where you got 176 is bullshit and made up logic. It only does 176 in 1.25 miles so that must be its top speed. Fail.
03 cobras hit 175 unlimited, cobra r too
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)and applauded they stability and control the car had at 196. It was on a medium size oval and the density altitude was 5200ft on the day of testing. 196mph no less though. Epic win.
Search "motortrend 2013 gt500" and look for the 10 minute vid
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Carlton, it'll do 176 in about a mile and well before 1.25 miles.
Your foolish brand loyalty is unfounded. The team behind the most rock stable rwd sports car in recent times, the ford gt, did awesome on the gt500.
Randy hit 196 in Arizona heat
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Mercury and Lincoln were rebadged fords, it's common practice, no shame in it because it drives profits but America went overboard with it in the 80's. you had a Chevy caprice, Buick this, Cadillac that all off the same car and ford/merc/Lincoln too
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Ya Miguel, I think that'll be the choice they make. It may push 475 but I don't know that they well unless a vette can be had with 480+.
Even the c6 coupe is rated at 400-436 while the ss is rated at 395 (auto) to 426hp. Vette higher always.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)They sound good stock but headers, off road x pipe and 3.5" catback really wake em up nicely.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Those svo's were epic but too pricey, could have really caught on. A few guys have that motor in the 8's, pretty incredible.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)handle 1500hp without changing internals. Epic win. Even the 4.6 03 cobra mills have made as much as 1100+whp on completely stock internals with twin turbos. Hellions redfire coupe did so back in 2007 with a twin charged kit. Sc and turbo, no boom.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Chevys are great too though, much easier to get power out of and the modern technology Chevy has developed for the pushrods motor is board line excessively impressive. I just love boost too much to walk away from ford modulars. Ford gt mills can
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)My 5.4 with simple 03 cobra heads put 385whp down with just 9.2/1 and 4.6 exhaust manifolds. It woulda been awesome if ford had just used that mill in the gt's and cobras from 94-2004.
Built na 5.4 4v's have made 520whp, nearly 100whp/L
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)ame power as the ls1 (325-350hp) with head porting an cam work. The 2v's make 310whp pretty easy with those mods. Some with built internals, 11.7/1 compression and aggressive cams run upto 375whp na but the 4v's are the real ford mills for power
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)better with niche models. Chevy also had ss, z28, ram air, ws6, etc even back in the late 90's.
Fords undoing with the modulars was simply in the sohc heads which flowed a paltry 175cfm and limited power production. Simple porting gets them to the s
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Patric, the Saleen, roush, etc models were different tuners. You'd have to be upset at slp, lingenfelter, etc too if you have an issue with tuner models.
Chevy didn't do as many speciality gen 4's but they have done more gen 5 specialtys. Sells
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Patric that will be an epic car, the current 1le is awesome but if it was in a proper 3500lbs chassis in stead of 4000lbs sedan chopped wth chassis it would be amazing.
The next zl1 should be absolutely incredible, 7:28-30 nurburgring laps.
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)to come close to a gt500 like I just described, like a $6,500 blower swap, heads and valves, pistons and rods, and major weight reduction. It's suspension is already pretty maxed so not much to gain their. Needs a 3.27 rear gear too and better shafts
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Not fair to compare stock and modded? Don't bring a knife to a gunfight then. The real world isn't held to conviction or meritless resolve, it'll pass you by with any advantage it can so doing so yourself is no shameful act.
Zl1 needs tons more mods
Turbo Four for Next Camaro(Dec 12, 2012)Gt500.
Ebc yellow stuff pads

Maximum motorsports full f/r suspension
