  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 16, 2014) The rear is bulbous in a way that seems unnecessary to me, I like the clean lines of an r33 better. It was awd as well, and didn't look huge at all. The r35 is just imposingly large IMO.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 16, 2014) Ya the alpha ats turbo 4 is 3500lbs as tested by motortrend. If a v8 alpha camaro is 3700lbs it'll be doing good. It will be hard but they might be able to. Gotta remember, the v8, transmission, heavier duty chassis mods all weigh a ton. I bet 3850
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) I like em all, but I think fords engineers do more for the paying customer. Ya a $75k z28 is quick on a track when it's 60tw tires are warm, but otherwise on 200tw tires, it's not as impressive IMO. Anyways, they are all a good value, but I like svt
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Basically, ford packages irs, v8, big brakes, technology, and all into a car that seats 4, and has a usable trunk. The camaros trunk is terrible, and that car is 150lbs heavier still... The challenger is a true muscle car, has tons of space but heavy
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Aaron, I can sympathize, no worries. I bitch dodge because it's 4200lbs. The z28 with all it's lightening efforts is still 3800lbs... Kinda lame as well. The gt is 370xlbs, barely over 3699 in other words. The track oriented versions may be lighter
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) I've driven them, been around many. Park it next to a z06 and it looks gigantic
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) Cam, also, to get a gtr to run 7's and 6's like American muscle has done requires ditching that awd setup for a proper drag suspension setup etc. Those don't handle or drive near as well on the street. In general, 8 second cars don't handle well.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) Camunduhl, you don't get it man. Anybody can build straight line speed into a car, that doesn't make it feel like a godsend to drive though. My car will burry the speedo in the 1/4 mile, still ain't a Ferrari though and I'd never akin it to one.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) Naj gtr is so badass though, like ya it's not a Ferrari but it's still an awesome sports car, congrats man
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) The m4 starts at $65k, and if the gt with performance pack and recarros was around $45k, it would suddenly be much less of a bargain vs just buying an m3. Maybe lighter space frame when .33M units sold annually to offset cost? For sure hoping
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) in price or something like that. There are roughly .75M f series sold annually, the stang is just shy of .1M, so it's just not cost possible at it's current volume without a price hike. Enthusiast demographic might buy a $45k gt, but other demos wont
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Had to have been honda. Weight wise, I would love to see loss, but in this day and age it's exceedingly hard to do so. I'm sure they could have pulled 250lbs out of it with say a monocoque, or an aluminum space frame, but would also mean a $7500^jump
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Tara, for sure. Ya buying one out the door would be like throwing $10k in the trash. I was going to look for a used one come late fall or mid winter. Dd replacement time is coming up so ya. I'm excited to see initial tests/reviews.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) No worries melek, it's hard to get curb weights especially on European cars because they often actually list a dry weight (as Americans would decree) as a curb weight, and so about 200-250lbs has to be added to euro spec wt. Oils, gas, coolant etc
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Oh, and it's cute that you say fuck you to me on a car blog... You must be the hardest, bad to the bone thug to ever come outta Compton. I'm very scared, I retreat to my life now and am so sorry for having heckled you... Grow up bud, only looks weak
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) It'll peg ~7.5" if I'm just super horny. What that has to do with this article or anything on car buzz is beyond me but you took it there. Your logic about my dick was as accurate as your logic about the stangs weight. 0-2, checkmate or keep playing?
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Aaron, woa, do you even lift bro? No one buys your koolaid crap logic. "It's 270lbs heavier because I can't do math..." My dick? It's not like gods gift to the penis, but I don't go on carbuzz to show it off. It's 7/3/8" and I'm confident about it.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) My fx35 with a vq35 looks very similar... I would say symmetrically pleasing, maybe even tidy but I wouldn't feel proud to pop the hood and look at this bone stock. Custom cold side gtr's without that plastic engine cover look much better imho.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) This is what enthusiasts engineer. 570hp from 4.5L........ 126.66hp per liter, the goal was 125hp/liter iirc the preliminary origins.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) From inside the car, these feel less special or exciting than a 370z if the engines off. There is no visceral feel or perception of exception. It's very plush, and well crafted, but so is a Lexus ls600 sedan. Imho.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) These feel special just sitting inside with the engine off. The seat position is perfect, and the layout feels special like a driver oriented track toy.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) It's just too big. It looks fat
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) Just sex
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) This has never been a flattering angle of this car.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) Mainly, I do not like the air flow/downforce vents near the inner headlight corners or the layout of this trims front opening in the bumper cover.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) I do think Ferrari design is at best on a downhill trend, but that said, in person these are absolutely beautiful. They are not photogenic though. The sleek wavy lines look bloated and fat in pictures.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) I've been in both, that's my assessment if the special feeling anyways. There's a sublime, raw, alive nature to a 9000rpm na v8, mid engine rwd hyper car that a 7000rpm, tt v6 front engine awd sports car will never poses IMO.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) If you drive these cars back to back, your inner 5 year old will crave the Ferrari and you'll feel completely content. The gtr will appease that weird self conscious inner 15 year old that always wants to seem smart, correct, faultless/too cool.
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) How is it down on power? It has 570hp vs the gtr's 480-545 year dependent. Gtr has lower drag coefficient. The special feel to me is in chassis dynamic response to inputs. The steering is telepathic and full of life in a Ferrari, a gtr is numb/dead
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) I can get a 77 nova to run 0-60 under 2 seconds for less than $10k. Even though gtr's do it in 2.7-3.5 bone stock, I just don't like that many computers and assists in a driving machine, it loses that oh shit feel and isn't as exciting or fun imho
  • Bone Stock Faceoff: Ferrari 458 Vs Nissan GT-R  (Jun 15, 2014) I'd pick the 458. I don't plan to buy a $100+k car any time soon, but when I get to that point, 0-60 performance won't be my major concern. The 458 is a drivers car, has so much more soul, and is much more compelling. At 2 times the $, still better
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) The losers are those who sit and argue over one brands supremacy, the others failure etc and close their appreciation to an ohv this or i6 that or v8 this or twin turbo that. Amazing, stunning bliss in the auto world. I'm more a Leno than a fanboy.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) A tune, and mild bolt ons should easily get an ecoboost mustang up to 350-375whp which is probably where the m4 will be. A tuned m4 with bolt ons should easily make 450whp, and be a gt350 competitor pretty easily. I love it, enthusiasts win nowadays.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Oh, and the new m4/3 aren't 3300lbs. They are 175lbs~ lighter than 2012, and that car was 3700lbs optioned for lightness. The m3 4door is 10lbs heavier than the m4 coupe. Still, 3525lbs is an exceptional weight. The ecoboost stang is 3525 as well.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) It's like yuppies and trust fund babies touting penny stocks left and right because 3000% return on investment!!! So lame, no clue, indeed incorrect.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Even stock, it'll outlap a boss leguna seca if you get the track pack so it's more than quick enough for 9/10 on this app or any car scene. I love when people compare lap times but can't even toe heel down shift or powershift.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) or maximum motorsports setup, or eventually an agent47 setup. I bet a 2015 chassis with full suspension upgrades, sticky tires, heavy duty brake pads/fluid, and about a 3400lbs curb weight open header with cams would be an absolute euphoria machine.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) It'll need some lightening to do what I'd want it to, but in general, this chassis is much more optimal for driver enjoyment than any s197 offering. Any sra fans, take it upon yourself to test drive it and see for yourself. I wanna see a Griggs
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Roughly $37k how you wanna get it Tara, motortrend had a story about it optioned like that, and upto $50k for a convertible 50th anniversary fully loaded with every option and auto.
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) The car should perform well. The i4 is a little lighter than the v6, and how the hell would it weigh 3800lbs (to the guy below claiming it should) if the v8 gt is 3700? Logic escapes many on this app
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Ford has claimed power increase. Oh, and to anybody claiming the car is a failure, go see it in person and test drive it in a few months. You wanna know what hurts feel? 4150lbs makes a 580hp zl1 feel like 425hp. 4300lbs makes 470 feel 370 (dodge)
  • The New Mustang is a Bit Chubbier Than We Thought  (Jun 15, 2014) Aaron, just quit. No one wants your koolaid. Go drive your Chevy and enjoy your flawed logic by your self. Rumors claimed weight lose, ford never did. Ford claimed irs and better than a boss ls outta the box if you get the gt track pack.
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) To end rant, longevity is mainly operator dependent. But yes, na may also last longer, and all things have stipulations/exceptions etc. Mb's tt mill will probably be fine
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) So once boosted, it still can see 200,000 miles pretty easily. I've personally seen engines fail on brand new cars with 7200 miles. It was an na dodge charger srt8 driven awful all the time. I've also seen an 92 Volvo turbo turn 360,000 miles
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) An na engine that has hyper eutectic internals is absolutely healthy without boost than with boost. That said, a forged engine is magnitudes stronger than a h.e. Internals engine. In a mild na application, a forged mill could run 500,000 miles easy
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) Anyways, there are sooooo many variables that it's not definable. A turbo Mazda may pop easy, an na Aston martin v12 may live forever, a Bugatti mill may see 200,000 miles, a Chevy 2l may die in 100,000. Materials, assembly, procedure, et al vary
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) rebuilding a shortblock or head as well. You can run milder head/cam profiles in a boosted vehicle and run much lower compression as well. If I had to pay for repairs, I'd rather rebuild a turbo ($600-1200) than an engine ($3-$15k+)
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) In general, the driver can take a car to 500,000 miles, or 5,000 miles and anywhere in-between. Yes, turbo is more complex, but done properly, as mb most likely has, this engine will see great lifespan. Rebuilding a turbo is much less expensive than
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) Turbo systems vary greatly in life and longevity but again this is driver centric. Heavy abuse driving will lead to impeller/shaft failure, no question. That said, hooning an na mill may lead to a dropped valve seat or valve itself.
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) 14/1 compression, boost and tiny engine don't mix well. Direct injection is not enough to quell and crest a safety barrier. I foresee skyactive engines blowing up in common fair before 125,000 miles commonly in the future. It's a gimmick.
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) Mercedes likely engineered this engine very well, so I do not see why driven reasonably, say sportingly at times, but mainly practically, these engines will not be problematic. I will say the "sky active" high compression turbo Mazda mills will blow
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) because they are completely abused. An engine is an engine, and rpm is it's downfall. That said, engineering can greatly sway the effects of rpm related wear, or boost load related stress on an na or boost application.
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) To further muddle the case, driving style 100% effects longevity. An na engine can expire in 5,000 miles if it's driving by a hooligan redlining and high speed running it 85% of the time. Some stolen cars have low compression after just 500 miles
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) In a light and low duty application, yes a (150hp?) na engine experiences less load than a (150hp?) turbo engine. Now that said, most factory turbo engines get forged internals though which greatly surpass hyper eutectic components.
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) You are forgetting that to get 500-700hp naturally aspirated, you have to have a very high static compression, 11.5/1+. This has a similar effect as boosting an engine that is say 8.5-9.2/1 compression. Basically, you are pretty accurate though
  • Mercedes-AMG Unveils New 503-HP Twin-Turbo V8  (Jun 14, 2014) David, rpms are more stressful than boost. Life of an engine at 8,000rpms is 10s of hours. At 5,000rpms it's probably over 2500rpms. Boosted engines with forged internals will live longer than high strung na mills.
  • 2015 Ford Mustang Pace Car Revealed  (Jun 14, 2014) Ishan, the mark 1 will live forever! You will never see it die! Never!
  • 2015 Ford Mustang Pace Car Revealed  (Jun 14, 2014) I like this generation a lot more than the s197's.
  • 2015 Ford Mustang Pace Car Revealed  (Jun 14, 2014) Matt you made my brain hurt trying to understand what you meant but now I think I get what you're saying. I love the true value performance models like the boss, gt500, etc, but the Shelby supersnakes ($175k), $75k roush's, etc are over hype/priced
  • Porsche 718 Roadster Will Weigh Just 1,190 KG  (Jun 13, 2014) Mitch, I missed that, my bad. I'm legitimately impressed that the curb weight will be that low. Good catch man. I gotta read the post better. 🍻🍻
  • Drag Race: Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren 650S, Koenigsegg Agera R  (Jun 13, 2014) A, Trent, the CEO of koenigsegg wasn't piloting that agera r... He has nothing to worry about because in proper hands, it's a mid 9 second car.
  • Drag Race: Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren 650S, Koenigsegg Agera R  (Jun 12, 2014) The agera is the fastest straight line car in this group. It's driver dropped the ball, but the car is unquestionably the fastest/quickest in a straight line when driven optimally
  • Yesterday's Heroes: Ford GT Vs Porsche Carrera GT  (Jun 12, 2014) Ohv's are great though, but they aren't the best. The argument of power to weight is true, but modulars are only 50lbs heavier compatibly na vs na, sl9 vs 5.4 ford gt, etc. 5.8 trinity makes more power than any gm 6.2+, dohc=^volumetric efficiency
  • Yesterday's Heroes: Ford GT Vs Porsche Carrera GT  (Jun 12, 2014) Cheap easy reliable Ls's have two playgrounds covered. I've seen more spun bearings, dropped lifters, blown pistons, oil starvation, etc problems from ohv Chevys than any other engine. I've seen full tilt built ls's blow up in an hour.

  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 12, 2014) Aaron, engines make power when unicorns are killed and their leather is used to make engine head covers while their bones are used to make moving parts. Unicorn teeth make the best lifters and the most horsepower.
  • Porsche 718 Roadster Will Weigh Just 1,190 KG  (Jun 12, 2014) Am sure some funny moron is still going to chime in "al, it says curb weight" Thanks in advance and congrats on your reading comprehension.
  • Porsche 718 Roadster Will Weigh Just 1,190 KG  (Jun 12, 2014) This article states curb weight, just like so many articles, but when it's a European car, the buzz is spread with dry weight. It's a stupid game they play to make euro cars seem so much lighter. It's dumb
  • Porsche 718 Roadster Will Weigh Just 1,190 KG  (Jun 12, 2014) That's a European dry weight though. 1190kg is 2,643lbs. Then add engine oil, antifreeeze, fuel, power steering fluid, tranny fluid, diff fluid and it'll be about 1280kg/2821lbs. Still light but euro weights are so deceiving. I prefer curb weight

  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) Ferrari has always been elegance and sophisticated Italian styling, which I really admire. • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) That said, the z06 is and has always been very brasin, the original packages were very racy and over the top. • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) The f12 is a beautiful car, but the jet fighter nose and tail tweaks do just enough to mar the classic nostalgic 250 gto lines imo. Not bashing it's design language, but it's not as compelling in the timeless way Aston Martin design language is
  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) The gt2 will feel more nimble because of the rear engine, but both the gt2 and z06 are not comfortable daily drivers on broken pavement, potholes, typical city streets. The stingray and 911 Carrera both are.
  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) Comparing the gt3 to the z06 isn't fair anymore as Chevy has ditched the 505hp na 7.0 ohv (and Porsche is considering turbo to boost the 4.0 440-470hp dohc that is still currently na). Bring out the 620+hp gt2 ($200k) Porsche and they ride the same.
  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) Comparing the ride of a gt oriented 400hp carerra against the 650hp track oriented z06 is not astute. 911 vs stingray is applicable, they both do well at all things, Porsche feels more tactile/dialed in/magnificent, stingray is quicker in many ways.
  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) Mike, the gtr bucks like a bronco for street driving. Ask owners. The 911 is a great cruiser, and so are other gt's. The corvette stingray is right there with those gt's. The 911 will not perform like the z06 short of the gt3 and turbo gt2.
  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) Ls mills are great for packaging, generally cost, simplicity, etc. Ohc mills have the potential for far more hp/liter. They are more volumetric ally efficient. That said, gm has done phenomenal with ohv.

  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) A 92 skyline stripped out, tubular suspension, with sticky tires will out perform both, but it won't feel special/precise/tactile while doing so. I'm not able to translate it into words. Same way truly high quality gold clubs work better, idk.
  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) Zach, ya but no, he has a point. Go drive a c6z for 10 laps then hop in a 430. The 430 feels telepathic, refined, fine tuned, calibrated and dialed in in ways a z06 doesn't. Both are very quick, but handling is feel/drivability/approachability
  • 650 HP! 2015 Corvette Z06 Confirmed as Most Powerful GM Car Ever  (Jun 07, 2014) You probably have mistaken p zerro nerros for trofeo's. I shouldn't say lie, because it's probably an honest mistake. That said, if you do run trofeo's, and at only 2,000 miles a year, you probably are buying 2 sets of tires annually.

  • Rare 1992 Vector W8 Going Under the Hammer  (Jun 07, 2014) Existance* not epic stance (iphone)
  • Rare 1992 Vector W8 Going Under the Hammer  (Jun 07, 2014) I've read that the actual ride and handling was not exactly at the level you would assume it to be based on it's supercar looks. Still, a fascinating and uniquely rare vehicle with enough history and character to warrant it's echo stance decidedly.
  • Rare 1992 Vector W8 Going Under the Hammer  (Jun 07, 2014) Looking back, this almost looks like a stretched and modified 80's mr2 doesn't it? Not that it is, but in the same way a modern venom is a stretched lotus, this looks like it was a stretched mr2. It was an American company and original design though
  • Rare 1992 Vector W8 Going Under the Hammer  (Jun 07, 2014) Th400 I'd imagine. It's crazy how stout the old power glides still are. You can literally rebuild a 50's power glide tranny that you pulled right outta a clunker at the scrap yard with new modern internals and it'll take loads of power.
  • This is the New 2015 BMW X6  (Jun 07, 2014) Hey, it 24.092lbs lighter. It's been hitting the gym and eating chicken salad all winter man.
