  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Zr1's heat soak bad enough that I see why the na guys are disappointed. Racing experience that team corvette has is great but keeping a raging hot set of lobes 7" from your heads cold is much more involved. That's why they don't use an sc to race.
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) Max, you're thinking of the new challenger, but it has to eat the hot pockets because it's still a hungry big ol boy haha
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) Bora. by your post? Ok I'm underwhelmed. Now this new mustang? I'm excited to be pleasantly surprised
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) My 5.3 is tt but with t4's now instead of t3 tt 5.4. Torque doesn't meet/best hp like the big stroke 5.4 used to, but we re-geared it from a 3.08 to a 3.73. Used to shift at 6250, now at 7500, same mph/gear. 5.3 made 90hp more na; huge gains any psi
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Of* not if. It does protect against the elements, adds to aero dynamics, and so on but it does nothing to protect you or the car in the event of an accident. It can be bendy and round to protect a pedestrian which it clearly is in this case. It won
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Alexander, a bumper cover will never protect your car from anything you funny uninformed little guy you. The bumper cover covers the bumper. It's not designed to protect anything except the eyes from the usually awful look if the real bumper/frame

  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) This clearly is a c6.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) I think the c7 is epic Babe Ruth homerun. That said, z06 boot camp will only help chisel off the belly and so on.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) No way he was joking. I've seen that look in his eye before. Stone cold serious one.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Those single turbo vettes hit 900-1200whp easily enough. Twin kits are twice the price of single kits for z06's because of the difficulty of fabbing the plumbing and hot side primarily. That said, hennessey, et al do offer nice twin kits $$$$$$$
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Volume and dynamic compression play a huge roll in boost applications. Also, some applications like corvettes are very hard to twin turbo because of the lack of cross over collection piping space availability. A lot of vettes go single turbo: space
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) A 4.5L whipple will help a nicely modded 2013 gt500 make 1250whp, but it's only better than say a 3.6L whipple gt500 once both are pullied for about 17-20Psi or higher. If both the 3.6 and 4.5 are pullied for 12psi of boost, the 3.6 has 50-75+ tq
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Nihal, single turbo cars the last two decades plus have easily made 1000whp. Sc cars have a much harder time breaking 1,000whp. In oem designs, they elect twin turbo for drivability. But, an sc big enough to make huge power usually has less low end
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) an aluminum custom 5.3 big bore in with custom heads/cams. Engine bore:stroke is why I mentioned my stuff. Having experienced both sides of the equation, larger bore as Chevy does, is the way to go. Good torque, nice revs, great power.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Nihal, a single turbo would wax a twin screw power and torque production all day. Single turbo 3L supra's have made 1800whp so you have no clue what you're saying. I have an 03 cobra that I had a tt 5.4 gt500 esc combo in but now have
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) My customers bently continental gt has a bumper cover that flexes as well to absorb impact and avoid dents. It's very common. I've also seen ferraris and sls amgs do the same thing.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) That said, altitude plays a huge difference. Being big and na, they struggle to click 12.7's here at 4600ft alt with awesome drivers. That said everything is much slower here except turbo cars which are moderately slower than at sea level
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Hugh, I've seen 390whp civic rape stock z06's so no you don't need more hp to beat them because of torque. What you need is similar or more hp depending on the weight and dynamics of your car. A mustang needs 80-100hp on a z to hang. A civic doesnt
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Also torque wise, it's easy to match hp and torque at 450hp in a 6.2L na motor. It's progressively much harder/impossible when you crest 500, 600, etc. Even boosted, it's much more a conversation of bore/stroke relation for the given displacement
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) The z51 is now the purists car, and needs a bump to 500hp soon here, the. All will be balanced lineup wise. 500hp na car 650hp boost car 7xxhp halo zr1 in the hanger if needed. I can live with and cheer that line up on.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Exactly Noah. I was going to say that but you covered it. Race teams almost exclusively select turbo when they absolutely have to be boosted to compete. Na is better for longevity and heat avoidance. I love boost but not for certain applications
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) I bet it'll easily peg 160 with out a limiter. If it delivers 440-475hp, it'll probably do 185-188 unfettered. The stock 2003 cobra with about 420hp (they were underrated at 390) could do 178-181. New car has a lower cd and is more stable at speed
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) Also I don't see the myriad of buttons that people are complaining about. Looks simple and straight forward to me
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) It's January, give the little guy a break. It was probably freezing when they sneaked that pic
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) There's very little plastic in this picture. I see aluminum, satin, brushed toggle switches, leather and a bit of plastic in between the buttons and partly on the center council. Very livable interior for $25-40k cars. Like a luxury hotel vs older
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) The screen is recessed exactly to block sun light glare. The vents are nice, I prefer the gauges layout.
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) I'm excited. Seeing photoshop renderings has me stoked to see what kind of specialty offerings and changes will happen as well. This is however the 1st time I've ever been enamored by the simple gt. I think I'll nab one, then trade up as others come
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) David, how are you right and ford wrong? Explain this dilly signal grandeur that you seem to fly to when ever a ford article hits
  • Order Domino's from the 2015 Ford Mustang  (Jan 09, 2014) The parking app is nice, the dominos app is a bit much but every business wants in on tech revenue. The same tech is great for other things besides greasy food. Place a reservation, buy movie tickets, order flowers for the gf on vday, etc.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) This older z06 looks way to flashy and cool. Square tail lights?
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Both the mustang gt and z51 need steroids. That said, the z06 and gt350 will beef up those round flabby bits and chisel em up nicely
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Round tail lights?
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) This is a poor angle of the c7. Makes it look just like a 2009 c6 z06.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) 4.165 stroke by 3.55 bore 5.4* that could be confusing, sorry.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Bigger bore is more optimal, and allows more rev range. My 4.165x3.55 5.4 revved ok to 6500, 7000 was kind of abusing it. My new 5.3 with a 3.75" bore and 3.825" stroke can rev unfettered to 8,500 but is cammed for 7500 because of the t56 tranny.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) My old 5.4 tt combo made 920wtq and 885whp on 17psi but that's a 4.165" stroke on a 3.55" bore. Chevy ls and lt mills are more around 3.8-4.x" bore on a 3.5-3.7" stroke which is not going to make as much tq as hp. More bore >hp, stroke >tq usually
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) In general turbo v8 cars will make more tq than hp till about 750hp. That said, a tiny 4.2L Audi v8 will never have higher torque and a huge 8L+ v8 might make 800/800 pretty easy. In general, a nice 5-7L v8 with modest stroke is roughly what i meant
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) The only reason I've said turbo is because the torque is 650 while hp is 620. If it was 650hp with 620tq I'd be saying it's almost definitely sc... Unless it's not optimized, an sc car usually makes less tq than hp at 500hp and up.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) It's faster than most traffic, and quicker than most project or sports cars as well. A stock z06 c6 is at least a quicker car than 85-90%% of cars on the road.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Won't believe hp until I see reveal* and whp (wheel horse power) on a chassis dyno. I fucking hate corrective text, fuckn awful as it gets, fuck you apple. Can the fuckn shit.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) It could be very underrated and be making 650hp/650tq if sc, with say 570rwhp. Every late model sc car has less torque than hp if it's making over 400hp. From jag to ford to chevy et al. If it is sc, the hp is underrated IMO.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) I've never seen a factory sc effort north of 550hp have more torque than hp. The figures strongly scream turbo power. That said, it could be a typo and be 620hp with 550tq as an na engine. I won't believe sc or hp until I see revel and who on dyno
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) I mean to say that the z51 c7 is close to (c6) z06 performance with both being great na engines. If the z06 is boosted, then buy the z51 if you prefer an na combo, and maybe cam/bolt on mod it for 550hp. I still say supercharged badge is photoshop.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) I'm a huge boost fan, my car has two t4's on it and I love boost. That said, Chevy had it right with an na offering and a boosted offering with the c6 chassis. That said, the c7 z51 is close to z06 performance, so a tt or sc z06 is fine, z51 for na
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 09, 2014) Ok lemme step in and clear this all up. Roots superchargers heat up the quickest vs lyshom and twin screw. And yes, the zr1 does experience heat soak just like the zl1 and gt500. Superchargers heat soak, turbos over heat. Na z06 best, boost zr1.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 08, 2014) Typo* not type, but it's probably not a typo
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 08, 2014) Also, the 650 tq could be a type. 620hp and 550 tq would easily be possible with a worked up na engine.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 08, 2014) That pic with the badge could be a photoshopped image, it's pretty hard to know know adays.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 08, 2014) Maybe with direct injection or some electronic trickery, they kept it sc and got more torque in the midrange though. Time will tell.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 08, 2014) If clarkson can mash on one for 15 minutes without it braking, it's plenty robust
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 08, 2014) If it's very flexible and feels like a strong motor that's helped by boost then this is great but if it's a muted engine feeding big turbos, then not so good. Bimmer and merc v8 tt's are awesome, hope this is very flexible just like those.
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 08, 2014) Torque to hp ratio*
  • Oops: GM Accidently Leaks Details of 2015 Corvette Z06  (Jan 08, 2014) That torque to ho ration almost dictates turbo. Unless it's cammed really soft, has a terrible intake manifold, or an absolutely huge sc, you'll almost never have more torque than hp in a 600+hp sc setup. Zr1, gt500, zl1 all abide by this.

  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) Not going full tilt gives lots of cool down time, a well sorted car will only have minor heat related issues on most track days. -check fluids, wear items, compression, alignment, hoses, clamps and systems before and after track days, helps longevity
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) It's just not a realistic scenario. Real life, bringing a factory knife to a track is great, but expect to get gunned downed by the hometown hero guns. Same at the drag strip. A lot of people enjoy motorsports, there's always traffic at the track.
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) In larger groups, like 90% of track days are, getting even a 1/3rd of track to go full tilt on is rare. Too much traffic and uncertainty. If you mean a proverbial 2 cars on the track, see which fails first, then yes a z28 should last longer
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) I see where you're coming from. I am sure that lapping all out, yes a z28 should last longer. Real track days rarely work like that though, unless the party is able to rent the entire track for a day amongst say 15-20 people.
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) Its sitting at 3350lbs and I'm thinking to have some aero bits fabbed to a second bumper cover and trunk lid so that I could swap on and off by switching the body parts for track use. The one thing it needs is down force. Stable but iffy 175mph+
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) Motor wise, my iat's are a chilly 60 degrees without meth and the oil cooler is pretty stout. If I was really on it for maybe 20 minutes on 12+ psi (750whp) I could definitely see the engine heating up but I'd also be about 3-5 seconds faster a lap.
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) I do still hold that a worked 1le would be very similar in performance to the z28. The suspension is nice, no argument but it's the tires that are the majority of the z28's handling capability IMO. 60 tw is a very serious tire
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) My termy makes substantially more power than this even on say 5psi so I could definitely see my brakes going out sooner and fading vs these carbon units. Being turbo, my car would probably need a cool down lap sooner as well.
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) Aaron, I'm by no means offended or on guard from what you said. Very respectable perspectives. I've never tried hot lapping my car for say hours on end so that is probably the case, at the least I would hope the carbon brakes would hold up longer

  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) Z28* has the ls7, typo'd the alphabet soup of car names a bit

  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 06, 2014) Mod vs stock? $75,000 camaro!!!! Anything goes when shats that expensive. That's a huge downpayment on a very nice home... • The Bugatti Veyron: Unequivocal Game Changer  (Jan 06, 2014) I'm a fan of the veyron and appreciate it like I appreciate upper class in general. That said, luxury it is not quite there. Nice ride and sophistication but if you've actually seen and been in them in person, the interior is too spartan.

  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 05, 2014) Ls7's sound awesome for sure. I'd never tire of that note. Need? No one needs much of anything except oxygen and nutrition to survive. Want and use though? I would, so has probably 99% of z06 owners haha
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 05, 2014) A lofty 9 pound reduction I assume. This is all marketing hype and pointless IMO. They could have shaved the 85 or so lbs of ditching radio, ac and hids by fabbing up carbon trunk, fenders, hood, and using thinner window glass. ^$75k? yes^
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 05, 2014) 2500whp is the shallow side of 2700hp. That's 5.4L with two turbos absolutely destroying a veyron mills output which has 4 turbos, 16 intercoolers, a huge 8L w8 engine, and a $1.5M+ price tag. Schools out of session, America wins
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 05, 2014) You can literally order a 2500whp capable engine from mmr for $32,500 and it comes with 1 year of trackside assistance and setup coordinating, race logistics planning, and tech support. It's a package designed for drag race teams.
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 05, 2014) And that's just a street worthy build. Race 5.3\4 modulars have made 2500whp for similar $. Bigger twin 76 or 80mm turbos are only $1100 more than my 62/65's were. Wilder race cams would be $500 more. Steel cylinder liners $1,500. Fuel mods $750.
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 05, 2014) And 4 turbos and 16 intercoolers and a $1.5m attached vehicle... Idiotic ridiculous post. Here's a figure for ya -5.3L 323ci 4v -twin 62/65mm turbos -1400hp. -18/26mpg -535lbs wet with turbo plumbing and cooling system. -$32,500. Ford modular.
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 05, 2014) You had to have a race license to buy the 100-300 cobra r's (year dependent) and they were very spartan as well, but also more reasonably priced. The z28 can be bought by anyone, no track license required. Ford wanted em raced, Chevy is capitalizing
  • Want a 2014 Camaro Z/28? It'll Only Cost $75K  (Jan 05, 2014) I don't car if you think I'm a dingus for that, I think it's wishful thinking to assume 75lbs of amenity will utterly transform the cars performance. All it's going to do is utterly ruin it's drivability
