Nurburgring Rivals: Porsche 918 Spyder Vs. McLaren P1(Apr 22, 2014)I'd like to hear all about it actually. Do you track your car very often? If so what other tracks have you experienced? I track a slightly modified C5 Z06, I would love to own a 997.2 911 turbo S some day though. Gotta keep saving though. :0)
Nurburgring Rivals: Porsche 918 Spyder Vs. McLaren P1(Apr 22, 2014)I might be exaggerating the "driver skill" factor but it's hard to say. What car did you take on the ring? It looks like a 997 Carrera S maybe on your pic. Was it enjoyable or just mostly terrifying? Key impressions? Things that surprised you?
Nurburgring Rivals: Porsche 918 Spyder Vs. McLaren P1(Apr 22, 2014)JP - I get your point. I am insanely jealous that you got to drive the ring. That is on my bucket list. Whenever I mention "Germany" as a vacation destination my wife gives me a weird look. I think I'm wearing her down though.
Nurburgring Rivals: Porsche 918 Spyder Vs. McLaren P1(Apr 22, 2014)Basically, if a car can set a good time on the ring then it won't have any trouble on any other road course in the world. I honestly think it's a great place to develop a suspension system but too much emphasis has been put on the actual times set.
Nurburgring Rivals: Porsche 918 Spyder Vs. McLaren P1(Apr 22, 2014)I think the reason the ring caught on as a manufacturer proving ground is because it is because it is so hard on a cars suspension, it throw's the car around and if the suspension isn't dialed in properly it will throw the car off the track.
Nurburgring Rivals: Porsche 918 Spyder Vs. McLaren P1(Apr 22, 2014)the cars ability. This "driver skill" part of the lap time is a non-car related variable and the longer the track, the more it helps or hinders the time set. Which distorts the actual cars perceived abilities.
Nurburgring Rivals: Porsche 918 Spyder Vs. McLaren P1(Apr 22, 2014)JP - the ring is one of the most difficult tracks in the world, this allows more of a difference in driver skill to be reflected in a lap time where a shorter less difficult track would minimize that and keep the time more of a true representative of
Nurburgring Rivals: Porsche 918 Spyder Vs. McLaren P1(Apr 21, 2014)I really wish the nurburgring wasn't the track that all cars seem to be judged by. It's so long that a difference in driver skill/track temp adds up to secs by the end of a lap and wouldn't give as clear a picture of car performance as a shorter cct
What’s it Like to Lap the Porsche 918 Spyder?(Apr 16, 2014)v I think it will depend on what kind of track they are on. On a track like Dunsfold the 918's awd traction should give it the edge but on a downforce circuit like Spa I think the P1 would easily win.
What’s it Like to Lap the Porsche 918 Spyder?(Apr 16, 2014)Thank you Porsche. Great video. Enjoyed every second. I'd go with the P1 just because it looks better imo.
I agree with 8iker though. The Porsche package impresses me more.
A Hardcore LaFerrari is Coming Soon(Apr 16, 2014)I couldn't make that choice without driving myself insane. I love them both equally. I'm sure this will be at least as fast as the McLaren. Oh what I would give to see a comprehensive track comparison.
Is This the Bugatti Veyron Successor?(Apr 16, 2014)I would love to see Bugatti build a more track oriented hypercar with some hybrid tech. They have always pushed the boundaries of performance with their new models. Can't wait to see what they come up with, it will be epic no doubt.
First Corvette Z06 Sells for $1M in Auction(Apr 14, 2014)@Marcus - I agree. I sat in both the C7 and the 991 at the Edmonton auto show this past weekend and the vette is just not in the same league interior wise. Still, I think Jeremy has always been overly critical of vettes in particular.
What Prototype is Bugatti Testing at Nurburgring?(Apr 13, 2014)idiots. If you hate the buyer, hate the buyer. Don't hate the car because of who buys it. That's just not fair to the car, which in this case is certainly not overrated as it is still a performance benchmark 10 yrs after it first debuted.
Watch an SRT Viper Race an F-16 Fighter Jet(Apr 10, 2014)I know why they do it but that back wheel looks too far forward. Doesn't keep me from really liking these. They are totally awesome, hopefully they keep making them for years to come. The world needs it.
Watch an SRT Viper Race an F-16 Fighter Jet(Apr 10, 2014)I think these races will always be cool even if they don't mean anything. I love cars and I love fighter jets. Put em both together for a race is just great entertainment.
It's Happened: Bieber Buys a Bugatti Veyron(Apr 09, 2014)To fight your natural instinct and impose mind over body in this way is commendable. A strong mind is your most valued asset and I'm sure you'll benefit from such an exercise.
It's Happened: Bieber Buys a Bugatti Veyron(Apr 09, 2014)Will - if nobody wanted to get laid the human race would die out. It's not a dirty act, it's the most beautiful act and a natural desire. God's gift to us. Some abuse it, but that's their choice.
It's Happened: Bieber Buys a Bugatti Veyron(Apr 08, 2014)Will Will - I don't believe you. If that's true then there's something wrong with you. Any normal 18yr old that has just had millions of dollars dumped in his lap is going to end up doing some pretty crazy shit.
It's Official: 2015 Corvette Stingray Receiving 8-Speed Auto(Apr 07, 2014)That's great news for tuners, should be a pretty durable transmission if it's basically the same beefiness as the one in the Z06. As for shift times, I don't doubt their claims. Autos nowadays can be made to shift insanely fast.
Is the Porsche 911 Targa Worth the Extra Cash?(Apr 06, 2014)He works there now. I love watching his reviews. His energy is fantastic.
I wouldn't opt for this model just because of all the extra weight. 400+lbs is quite a lot. I like the old glass roof targas better. More functional imo.
Screw the V2 Rocket: SLS AMG Black Vs. 911 GT2 RS(Apr 05, 2014)I never would have believed the big merc would have bested a 991 GT3 and the 12C on track. Well done Mercedes. Love the way it sounds too. The Porsche is a bit too much vacuum cleaner by comparison. Still, I think I prefer the GT2 RS. Great vid!
The Heart and Soul of the Koenigsegg One:1(Apr 04, 2014)I've been overly critical of Koeniggsegg in the past and I'm a converted believer now. I'm sure the car will set some new benchmarks that other hypercars will really struggle to match.
The Heart and Soul of the Koenigsegg One:1(Apr 04, 2014)V well said. I agree. The passion he has for his company is obvious as is his talent as a designer. It's amazing how one guy could basically start from scratch and build his own hypercar to rival the best of the best.
The Corvette Stingray Shows the UK What America is All About(Apr 03, 2014)v well said! And eoin, his opinion of the car was that he quite liked it. Clearly stated at the end of the video. And he never said it didn't work on that road, in fact his opinion was quite the opposite. You obviously have chosen to ignore all
The Corvette Stingray Shows the UK What America is All About(Apr 03, 2014)Eoin - I do see what your saying. I guess it's debatable as to which one would be faster, largely depending on the skill of the driver. AWD is going to be much easier to control, wot corner exits are no problem whereas the vette driver would have
The Corvette Stingray Shows the UK What America is All About(Apr 03, 2014)Good review. I wonder if the properly wet road contributed to the inconsistent pedal feel. Never heard anyone complain about the brakes on a modern corvette before. It's a shame the Europeans are so closed minded about the vette.
You Don't Want This to Happen on Your 911 GT3 Test Drive(Apr 02, 2014)Miles - I'm gonna try that!!
Sung - stepping on the throttle mid corner in a rear engine car isn't as big a deal as stepping off the throttle mid corner. It's called weight transfer. On throttle- weight transfers to the rear giving the rear tires
Lexus LFA: At Least 11 of 500 Are Now Up For Sale(Apr 01, 2014)Steve - if you knew what they went through to get to the finished product you wouldn't say such things. It's a clean sheet supercar, so calling it a cup-o-noodles car is actually the opposite of the truth.
Chevy Offering Driving School Discounts to Corvette Buyers(Mar 30, 2014)Great idea! Well done GM!
Mitchell didn't mean it. Actually, he was halfway through a bowl of delicious cornflakes this morning before realizing that someone had actually taken a dump in them. So, he's grumpy about that.
Track Terrors: Chevy Camaro Z/28 and Nissan GT-R Bump Heads(Mar 29, 2014)Godzilla got taken out by a factory stock 'mero. I think this was a bit much for Brady to comprehend and he went a little loopy. Maybe when he's had some time for it to sink in he'll snap out if it. or maybe not. Who cares lol??
Hennessey Reveals 'World’s Fastest Edition' Venom GT(Mar 28, 2014)The Venom doesn't have 1/10th the engineering that the Veyron has and it's pretty embarrassing that all these cars that weigh 1000lbs+ less and have more hp can't manage any more speed than the mighty Veyron.
Hennessey Reveals 'World’s Fastest Edition' Venom GT(Mar 28, 2014)It's literally a twin turbo'd corvette engine. And which do you think took more engineering? Putting a bunch of parts together out of a catalog or designing an engine configuration that's never been done before?
Hennessey Reveals 'World’s Fastest Edition' Venom GT(Mar 28, 2014)And Marcus wasn't trying to take anything away from the vette engine, we all know it's a great motor. He's pointing out that any decent tuner could be the exact same motor that's in the Venom. It's not bespoke like the W16qt.
Hennessey Reveals 'World’s Fastest Edition' Venom GT(Mar 28, 2014)Marsh - The Bugatti engine was designed that way to make it reliable and very usable. Which it is. The Venom's engine is so peaky and the turbo lag is so bad that it's only good in a straight line whereas the Bugatti's power comes on smoothly.
Karma is a White-Trash-Hating Bitch(Mar 28, 2014)karma of her own on the way. People like her really poss me off but you just gotta be patient then get on with your life. They know they are being a prick usually.
Karma is a White-Trash-Hating Bitch(Mar 28, 2014)She was matching the speed of the truck in the slow lane for quite a long time and didn't pull to the right as soon as she could have. She was obviously antagonizing him. His reaction certainly wasn't necessary but I think she's got some bad
