Those two were competitors. However, today's S class Audi competes with BMW's highest non-M division offering.

If TT-RS accelerates quicker AND is lighter, then why such an assumption? Of course there are other variables that go into making a quick lap, but with weight and accel., I don't see how someone can say with any certainty M3 would be better ( or even close ) to RS, especially since he/she likely had never driven one.
