VW to Develop 10-Speed Dual-Clutch (Apr 28, 2013) 8 speeds aren't even that bad. I drove a 2013 gen coupe and it hit 6th at the same time like my GTI, no problem (like around 60kph). 7th and 8th would just come along around 100km and such to keep revs down. It's really nothing bad its quite sick.
