  • 2015 Ford Mustang GT and Convertible Power into Detroit  (Jan 14, 2014) Looks good at every angle but the side. Just looks a bit soft and plain. Maybe with the addition of a duck tail and chin spoiler it'll look more aggressive.
  • Mustang Sales Dropped Last Month  (Dec 20, 2013) It's not really being based on one month. It's based on past sales of most cars coming out with a new model. Prior to the new one hitting the showroom most cars drop in sales while folks wait to see if they prefer the new one. It often rebounds afterwards for several reasons. People may not like the new car, the inventory may be limited, the price may be too high (dealer mark up) or they provide great deals on the outgoing model.
  • Actor and Car Guy Paul Walker Killed  (Dec 01, 2013) Carbuzz, if you have any sense of decency you should ban Oso from the site. His level of stupidity should never be encouraged. He may think he's funny but in all aspects he's a juvenile still waiting for his testicles to drop. To all the friends and family of Paul, all of us feel the loss and our hearts are with you. Most can only hope and strive to be the kind of person he was. R. I. P. Paul. You will be missed.
  • Ferrari Gets Wheels Jacked Overnight, Left on Blocks  (Oct 30, 2013) @Taylor, the blocks are placed under chassis components or underbody. The rotors are off the ground. And even though the ceramic rotors are worth quite a bit I would think they would be harder to unload fast. When I lived I Germany a few years I remember guys going around in vans looking for broke down vehicles on the autobahn to strip. Pretty good at it too. Could strip a car in 15 minutes or so.
  • Edmunds Vies Stingray to Porsche Cayman S  (Oct 04, 2013) I'm a dyed in the wool Corvette guy but I have to give credit to the Cayman. Porshe puts together excellent cars. They are exceptional handling cars that really utilize the power they have. That said, the price point is closer to that of a Z06/Z07 than that of the base car. With the $20+ grand price difference I can make the Vette my own and increase the performance/handling characteristics.
  • It's So On: Corvette Stingray vs. Mustang Shelby GT500  (Sep 29, 2013) Yeah Daniel, who cares about a cars ability to turn. Every place you go must be straight there and back. I'm a Corvette guy but the Mustang isn't a bad car. If it were me though I'd get the Laguna Seca edition and bolt on a power adder. Even stock I believe it would give the Vette an all around better run.
  • MT Takes Ferrari F12, Corvette Stingray and Porsche 911 4S to Laguna Seca  (Sep 27, 2013) I won't begin to compare a Vette with the F12 but you have to admit it's amazing that a car that is down 270 horses and over $300 grand cheaper came within 2/10 of a second per lap of the Ferrari. Obviously the money buys you exclusivity and a soundtrack that would wake the gods but kudos to both the Vette and the Porshe for making such impressive cars.
  • This Was Harley Earl's Personal Corvette  (Sep 23, 2013) *Zora. Hate auto correct.
  • This Was Harley Earl's Personal Corvette  (Sep 23, 2013) Poor wording Carbuzz. Harley Earl was most certainly one of the father's of the Corvette. He, along with Zara Arkus Duntov and Bill Mitchell are the ones that ensured the Corvettes existence. "So-called" doesn't even play here.
  • Turns out the C6 Corvette is also a Great Used Car  (Sep 21, 2013) What are the options for someone that wants a performance car priced under $30,000? Honda's S2000 is there as is Porshe Boxster. Mustang, Camaro and Challenger fall into the price index but are not quite in the same league. I suppose an Audi TT or M3 can be considered but still not the same thing. I have seen a couple of Vipers and 911's close to $30,000 but older and generally a bit more used up. Honda and Porshe have the refinement but Corvette owns the performance.
  • Turns out the C6 Corvette is also a Great Used Car  (Sep 21, 2013) @Noah, these are all things easily improved upon. I like the steering feel by the way. It's quite tactile and better tires enhance that. The aftermarket equipment for the Corvette is staggering. From builders that modify for you to parts you can put on yourself there are a tremendous amount of options. That may be the greatest attribute of a Corvette, you don't have to accept it the way it is. That and the fact that a guy that doesn't make $100,000 plus can own one.
  • Turns out the C6 Corvette is also a Great Used Car  (Sep 20, 2013) *on par* not part.
  • Turns out the C6 Corvette is also a Great Used Car  (Sep 20, 2013) I fully understand why many people and magazines pan the Corvette. Yes, the build quality is not on part with Porshe or Audi. The interior is low rent compared to others in the segment. It's crass, unkempt and uncivilized. And these are the very reasons I love it. No matter who you are it will put a smile on your face. It's a hooligan, you may talk bad about it but it makes you nervous when you have to face it. It is attainable vehicle nirvana.
  • GT-R Vs. GT-R is Surprisingly Uneven  (Sep 20, 2013) *Mclaren, hate auto fill sometimes.
  • GT-R Vs. GT-R is Surprisingly Uneven  (Sep 20, 2013) Years ago Top Gear pitted the R33 against a McClaren F1. As expected the F1 destroyed it. I imagine the new GTR would prove to be a better match.
  • Tuning Battle: Honda Civic vs. Corvette ZR1 (Seriously)  (Sep 16, 2013) I'm surprised that people are surprised at the results. The Honda 's power to weight ratio is better than the Corvette. Think back to the 60's when Shelby bolted a v-8 into an AC Bristol. You wouldn't want to drive it long distances but was brutal fast. Turn the equation around once. Take a stock S2000 and compare it to a mid 70's Vette. The Honda would wipe the floor with it. Now strip the Vette and install a built 383 stroker. Bye-bye S2000.
  • Chevrolet Angling For Younger Corvette Customers  (Aug 24, 2013) Aaron, I think Eoin is correct. I love the Corvette but few will be cross shopping Ferrari and Corvette. With a $70 grand price tag vs. a $300 grand it's more about image than numbers. On the other hand, Bieber owns a Ferrari so I guess so much for that image. Makes it worse than a midlife crisis car!
  • Ni How Much? New Corvette Stingray Priced at $250k in China  (Aug 16, 2013) Will, actually the study covered both brand and makes. That's why Prius made the list but Toyota didn't. Either way, the results would most likely differ depending on where you live. I'm also willing to bet that you see more Prius on the road than Corvettes on any given day.
  • Ni How Much? New Corvette Stingray Priced at $250k in China  (Aug 16, 2013) @Will, a recent study has shown that the rudest drivers on the roads are BMW and Prius drivers. That's not to say all BMW drivers are horrible and all Corvette drivers angels.
  • Ni How Much? New Corvette Stingray Priced at $250k in China  (Aug 16, 2013) I think the word you're looking for is "denial". The reality is that the Corvette is a LOT of car for the money. @Colby, I agree the name calling is juvenile and has no place here. As a fellow Vette fan it is on us to alter the stereotype not feed it.
  • Want to F up Your Ferrari? Lend It to Paris Hilton  (Aug 15, 2013) So she has one to drive while the other is being repaired.
  • People Are Loving Green Cars These Days  (Aug 09, 2013) Looks like a green M&M. Just the wrong shade of green.
  • France Moves Forward With Mercedes-Benz Ban Despite Loss In Court  (Aug 03, 2013) Sorry, typed Adolf but got Adolph.
  • France Moves Forward With Mercedes-Benz Ban Despite Loss In Court  (Aug 03, 2013) @Adolph, if you can't grasp the irony then quite honestly you can not be the sharpest tool in the shed. Not to mention that you call a commenter that was supporting France and putting down a German auto manufacturer a nazi. You may want to educate yourself about WWII and the basic mindset back then. Just saying.
  • C7 Corvette Stingray is the Superman of Sports Cars  (Aug 02, 2013) Maybe a setup, maybe not. Couple factors to consider. Front ends are designed to crumple while sides are designed to withstand impact. I would guess that there are several cross beams in the door to protect occupants and the outer panel is flexible. The combination of light weight, summer oriented tires and wet conditions most likely allowed the Vette to slide, reducing some of the force. I doubt it's staged but I wouldn't expect these results consistently.
  • L88 Corvette Still As Impressive (And Loud) As Ever  (Jul 22, 2013) Made them for the same reason as the L88. Chevy was stepping into racing and was trying new combinations. Zora never liked the big block cars because it compromised handling. The ZL1 was aluminum heads and block where the L88 had a cast block and aluminum heads I believe. The lower hp rating was done to discourage regular people from buying it. The package also doubled the price.
  • L88 Corvette Still As Impressive (And Loud) As Ever  (Jul 22, 2013) As impressive as the L88's were in 68-69 Chevrolet came out with the ZL1 Corvette as well. Only 3 were made, 1 being a test mule if I remember correctly. They were rated by the factory at 425 horse but in reality exceeded 600. Radio, air and heater were all deleted. Right up there with the C2 Grand Sports for awesome.
  • You Got Duped if You Just Bought a New GM Pickup  (Jul 22, 2013) Honestly, most pickup drivers are fans of their respective manufacturer and usually wouldn't be caught dead in any of the others. A 700 lb difference will up your milage how much? Maybe 1mpg all things considered. Aerodynamics is more important than weight and dodge seems to have done more in that department.
  • Corvette Stingray Prepares For Battle in Europe  (Jul 18, 2013) @Chris, your comment makes no sense. I doubt Colby has over $40 grand into his with all the mods. And again, you make my point. The Vette is affordable so that a hard working person can buy one. I dont see the logic about a car every 3 years because you can buy and sell Corvettes just like any other car. I really appreciate that you don't like Corvettes and will never buy one though. The reputation has been damaged enough already.
  • When Hunting Big Game, Drive This Thing  (Jul 18, 2013) @Daniel, you have no problem judging those that would buy this so that means those that would buy it may judge you. If you don't like being commented about next time just say that you don't like the vehicle and give a reason why without insulting others.
  • Corvette Stingray Prepares For Battle in Europe  (Jul 18, 2013) Always seems to be a lot of Colby bashers on these posts. Much like Colby I'm a Corvette guy. I've owned 3 ('78, '69 convertible, and a '02 targa) and have modified all of them in onr way or another. I'll admit that previous interiors lacked but performance is spot on or better than many foreign cars. Most importantly Colby is proof of what makes a Corvette so great. While you are yearning for that Porche, Ferrari or GTR, he's DRIVING his Vette.
  • Holden HSV Ignites After Too Many Donuts  (Jul 15, 2013) @Tara, go to youtube and type in roadkill. It's a show with two of the editors from Hot Rod magazine pulling crazy stunts. Damn fun to watch.
  • Corvette Stingray is Green Friendly(ish)  (Jul 09, 2013) @Scott, 2 reasons. First is CAFE regulations that dictate average fuel consumption of all cars produced by a manufacturer. Second is to ensure they can bypass any gas guzzler tax although I believe they are well below that currently. Preemptive move since standards are getting stricter over the next few years.
  • Corvette Bed Sure to Make Other Children Envious of Yours  (Feb 13, 2012) More like wet the Vette Sebastian
  • Corvette Bed Sure to Make Other Children Envious of Yours  (Feb 13, 2012) Ha! That's hilarious! Gold chains? I think I nearly wet myself! I've never heard that before.
  • Tesla Model X Crossover Spreads its Wings and Makes its Debut  (Feb 10, 2012) Not a fan of Tesla but isn't the model s original? Doesn't look like any Lotus I know of.
  • 9ff Porsche GTurbo R Quicker Than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport  (Feb 03, 2012) The Bugatti has been the top dog for several years now and everyone hates the top dog. It's just human nature. The car is a technical marvel just like the GTR but that also means they have a big red bullseye on their back.
  • Hennessey to Transform McLaren MP4-12C into 800hp Monster  (Feb 01, 2012) Instead of throwing out juvenile expletives how about informing everyone why it is you dislike Hennessy. Like it or not this shop produces some extraordinary performance machines.
  • Hennessey to Transform McLaren MP4-12C into 800hp Monster  (Feb 01, 2012) I've heard the same things. I also recall several of his Vipers catching fire during comparison tests for magazines and TV. Can't speak personally on whether or not all the claims are true. I guess when you push the envelope things happen.
  • Lingenfelter Signature Series Means a Chevy Camaro with Some Big Power  (Jan 30, 2012) 625hp Civic? Less rice, more hand grenade!
  • Video: If You Don’t Like the Cadillac ATS, then You Can Go to Green Hell  (Jan 30, 2012) That is good for a mid size sedan that is optioned up like this is. Yes, there are cars that get much better mpg but not in this class.
  • T. Chin Renders the Cadillac ATS into a Hatchback and Wagon  (Jan 28, 2012) I think the wagon looks pretty good but not really so sure about this hatch. It just doesn't flow right. Makes me think of the BMW 5 series GT.
  • Gordon Calls on NASCAR to maintain its Low-Tech Tradition  (Jan 27, 2012) @Brandon, Jeff did drive an F1 car for a day. Not in a race but on a track. It was some deal where he and an F1 driver swapped seats for a day. Both did very well in the others car and both admitted how difficult it was.
  • The World Mourns as Another Pagani Zonda F Crashes in Hong Kong  (Jan 26, 2012) Also note that there are no skid marks from either braking or slipping the rear under acceleration.
  • The World Mourns as Another Pagani Zonda F Crashes in Hong Kong  (Jan 26, 2012) Worked as a wrecker driver for several years and have seen plenty of sport cars in accidents. Not saying it isn't the drivers fault, just saying it might not be. You don't damage both ends of a car without speed or help from another car.
  • The World Mourns as Another Pagani Zonda F Crashes in Hong Kong  (Jan 26, 2012) Wrong Kent. That is a light car and is made up of carbon fiber. If he was turning at that intersection and clipped in the rear it may have partially spun him into those poles. The debris isn't scattered all over like a high speed hit.
  • The World Mourns as Another Pagani Zonda F Crashes in Hong Kong  (Jan 26, 2012) Everyone is quick to blame the driver but he may be innocent. Considering the front and rear damage he may have been stopped, rear ended, and shoved into the vehicle in front. All I'm saying is that until facts are given curb the assumptions.
  • Video: Nissan Juke-R Showcases Supercar Killer Potential  (Jan 22, 2012) That's because you don't have the means to purchase the others. It's what's referred to as "sour grapes". Most people, not all, but most will buy the best they can afford. A Casio watch keeps time as well as a Rolex but the Rolex says you've arrived.
  • GM Back On Top of the World, for Chevrolet a Record Year  (Jan 21, 2012) That's the point. This car will be auctioned off to raise money for injured veterans. Would I paint a car like this myself? No. Would I bid on it if I had the money? Most definitely.
  • GM Back On Top of the World, for Chevrolet a Record Year  (Jan 21, 2012) Kevin, if your not going to purchase things from companies that have been helped by the government, be it ours or someone else's, you better thin down your shopping list tremendously. I'm not just talking about cars.
  • Porsche Panamera S Body Kit by Wurde  (Jan 20, 2012) Overall, not bad. Little busy ahead of the rear wheel with the twin scoops but otherwise a fairly good looking kit.
  • Lee Iacocca’s 1991 Ferrari F40 Up for Auction  (Jan 17, 2012) They say dynamite is boring until the fuse is lit. The F40 is the same. Just a mound of plastic, metal, rubber and fluids.....until the key is cranked. Then it becomes a time machine. To fulfill it's destiny it must be driven.
  • Lee Iacocca’s 1991 Ferrari F40 Up for Auction  (Jan 17, 2012) I like the Camaro and respect the GTR but neither of them will EVER represent what the F40 did to car culture. I'm not a huge Ferrari fan but it's the F40 and the Countach from Lambo that defined the start of the super/hypercar.
  • TIKT Creates the Uber-Powerful Triple X Corvette C6 ZR1  (Jan 16, 2012) Surprisingly this is one of the first times I've seen a European tuner do performance upgrades along with body kit. Usually they add 20 hp, tack on 350 pounds of body mods and charge a fortune.

  • Part 2: CarBuzz Picks the Best in Show at Detroit in NFL Playoff Format  (Jan 15, 2012) If they never change the overall package and keep riding the same line then as innovative as the upgrades are its never a game changer. The release of the Boxster, Caymen, GT and Cayanne were game changers. They redefined a segment.
  • Part 2: CarBuzz Picks the Best in Show at Detroit in NFL Playoff Format  (Jan 15, 2012) Rudolf, there's good and bad cars in every country. You talk about how superior the Porshe is but it should be if you think about it. In all the years the 911 has been around it has changed little. The first ones look very much like the new ones.
  • Part 1: CarBuzz Picks the Best in Show at Detroit in NFL Playoff Format  (Jan 15, 2012) Once again the matchup is mixed. SL vs. 911 and Mini vs. Hyundai. Price should never play into things after the first round. Sorry Carbuzz but this is an all around fail.
  • Part 1: CarBuzz Picks the Best in Show at Detroit in NFL Playoff Format  (Jan 15, 2012) I think it may have been more appropriate to compare ATS with Redline and Fusion/ Mondeo with the Dart. That seems to be a more likely pairing because of closer segment orientation.

  • Video: Autocar Compares Corvette GS against Nissan GT-R, Jaguar XKR  (Jan 03, 2012) I love cars. I have my favorites just like anyone else but I find things I like and dislike in most cars. Sorry if your a Prius fan, YUCK!
  • Video: Autocar Compares Corvette GS against Nissan GT-R, Jaguar XKR  (Jan 03, 2012) I think that it's not really Chevy that's priced it too high. The high price is most likely due to taxes and import fees. When Australia Top Gear tested a ZR1 they said that after the taxes and right hand drive conversion it cost $300,000.
  • Video: Autocar Compares Corvette GS against Nissan GT-R, Jaguar XKR  (Jan 03, 2012) Both the ZR1 and the GTR are beasts. On any given day with the right driver one will beat the other. They are very close on performance. Thanks to both manufacturers for providing such worthy vehicles.
  • Video: Autocar Compares Corvette GS against Nissan GT-R, Jaguar XKR  (Jan 03, 2012) I also don't think she put it down that much. The car has been around since 2005 so it is older and in need of update. I think she was pretty forgiving actually.
  • Video: Autocar Compares Corvette GS against Nissan GT-R, Jaguar XKR  (Jan 03, 2012) As a Corvette guy I'll agree this is sort of a rigged comparison. But what else really competes with the Vette? It's much cheaper here but that doesn't help overseas. Truth is the Vette will usually go up against higher performance cars than itself.

  • Man Crashes 'Free' Lamborghini Murcielago After Only 6 Hours  (Dec 22, 2011) Kevin, anyone that drives tractor trailer is referred to as a professional driver.
