  • Weekly DFA: These Guys in Syria  (Feb 27, 2013) are made without any real thought and are not representative. Some people here choose to be insulting on the basis of differences in age, nationality, education, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation ... Don't give credence to such irrationality.
  • Weekly DFA: These Guys in Syria  (Feb 27, 2013) @Omar, I follow what you mean. All I'm saying is its not about Arab or whatever. The stupid - my view - comments are made about anyone who can be distinguished. They happily put down the 'other'. I'm not defending the comments, just saying they
  • 5 Aston Martin Concepts  (Feb 26, 2013) Oops! How did that get shown in public? Each to their own taste.
  • Weekly DFA: These Guys in Syria  (Feb 26, 2013) @Mohammed please don't read too much into it. Some people seem to enjoy criticising others on Carbuzz. I don't actually think they care much who they criticise (e.g. Canadians, who many in the world have difficulty distinguishing from Americans).
  • Weekly DFA: These Guys in Syria  (Feb 25, 2013) @Jack; how would that happen??
  • Chevrolet SS Not Coming to Canada, Israel  (Feb 25, 2013) Since the Chev Lumina doesn't appear to be sold in Israel (re their website) it seems unlikely they would now send the essentially identical version with an SS badge. Does the original article seem to have any real basis?
  • Chevrolet SS Not Coming to Canada, Israel  (Feb 25, 2013) @Wyatt; my recollection of 70's American cars is that the 'all' looked the same. All the GM sedans were like each other, etc.
  • Chevy SS Wagon Being Considered  (Feb 21, 2013) ... as passenger vans & then removing the seats etc to sell them as commercials. Amazing for such a large industry to receive so much protection!
  • Chevy SS Wagon Being Considered  (Feb 21, 2013) @Trey search cbp.gov rot info on importing a vehicle. It gives the rates as 2.5% for a car, 25% for commercial & free or 2.4% for a motorbike. I have heard the 25% from numerous sources. Carbuzz had an article on Ford importing the little Transits
  • Cars That Won't Die: Hindustan Ambassador  (Feb 20, 2013) But all the cars mentioned in comments changed heaps - this hasn't.
  • Chevy SS Wagon Being Considered  (Feb 20, 2013) Unfortunately won't happen. There is a 25% tariff to protect the poor little USA car industry from imported commercial vehicles ...
  • Six-Wheeled G-Wagen Heads to Middle East  (Feb 18, 2013) Either 2 vehicles or one vehicle with non-matching front & back plates.
  • Unearthed: 1967 Kellison Astra X-300 GT  (Feb 16, 2013) What a stunning look! Like an E-type Jag with LOTS of attitude!
  • New Smart ForTwo and ForFour Spied  (Feb 13, 2013) Not surprised it looks like an iQ since that car appeared similar to the original Smart.
  • New Holden Commodore Previews Chevy SS  (Feb 11, 2013) :-) oops, not obvious on phone screen. Must need new glasses 8-)
  • New Holden Commodore Previews Chevy SS  (Feb 10, 2013) ... are up so more people are after more fuel efficiency. Add to this that for these & other reasons less fleets are buying Comm/Falc & there is yet more pressure. All of this feeds into the less volume, higher cost, higher price, less development...
  • New Holden Commodore Previews Chevy SS  (Feb 10, 2013) Aussie $ is high due to increased mineral exports - so imports are cheaper & Commodore & Falcon more expensive. Double whammy for Holden as it is also harder to export Commodores. Tariffs on imports are down to 5%, so further rice pressure. Fuel prices
  • New Holden Commodore Previews Chevy SS  (Feb 10, 2013) Looks like this is the Commodore SSV, the performance model (ignoring the Holden Special Vehicles models to come). More info from Holden at: http://m.holden.com.au/new-commodore
  • Commodore and Falcon Done by 2016  (Feb 08, 2013) Inline 6 not V6. Cheers
  • Horrible Small Cars: Zundapp Janus  (Feb 06, 2013) @Joshua, no worries. Just take the back door off; a clearer shot and less weight. Just don't steal much or you will really strain those 3 1/2 ponies! ;-/
  • Horrible Small Cars: Zundapp Janus  (Feb 05, 2013) I don't know about Meicans, but we used to fit the family in a beetle. Mum, dad & eight kids. It got crowded when Granma visited ...
  • Defender Military Edition by Kahn  (Jan 31, 2013) No extra width on doors, so no protection for driver??? At least it looks the part :-\
  • Classic Supercar Matchup: Countach vs. Ferrari 512 BB  (Jan 27, 2013) Steering on the Lamborghini looked really loose! Half a turn & nothing happened ... I helped push a Contach years ago; it'd run out of fuel in the middle downtown Melbourne. They ended up using a modded cardboard milkshake container as a funnel :-/
  • Armored Opulence: Hyundai Equus Armored  (Jan 26, 2013) @Isaac, like Toyota with Lexus & Nissan with Infinity. The Koreans are just trying to do it a bit faster.
  • GAC E-Jet Concept Previewed at Detroit  (Jan 23, 2013) Sorry folks, I don't agree. Yep it's a small sedan with creases on the side but that's about as far as the similarity goes IMO.
  • Armored Opulence: Hyundai Equus Armored  (Jan 23, 2013) The chairman was done under licence on an E class Merc platform. Was made to look like an S class. Not like lots of others from SsangYong which seemed to see 'different' as the most desirable styling trait.
  • GAC E-Jet Concept Previewed at Detroit  (Jan 23, 2013) Grill / headlights have a Volvo (another Chinese firm) look, but overall it seems quite distinctive & nice. Certainly not a photocopy of any other design.
  • GAC E-Jet Concept Previewed at Detroit  (Jan 22, 2013) Them's traillights not taillights ...
  • Armored Opulence: Hyundai Equus Armored  (Jan 22, 2013) Where's the originality - same place as years of Lexus LS designs - in the Mercedes design studio!
  • Aston's Centenary Celebrations Reach New Heights  (Jan 18, 2013) @Jared, I think they wanted to impress potential buyers & investors rather than their employees ...
  • Cars that Defied the Norm: Citroen DS  (Jan 09, 2013) @David. Agreed. Like BMC with the Mini - a brilliant design that needed, but didn't receive, development to keep it ahead of the pack.
  • Time's Up for the RWD Aussie Falcon  (Jan 07, 2013) The Falcon I6 is based on the ancient one (200 & 250 ci) that I understand was used in USA & Australia. Has been HEAVILY upgraded & seems generally well regarded.
  • Time's Up for the RWD Aussie Falcon  (Jan 05, 2013) @Megan, no doesn't share Volvo bits.
  • Time's Up for the RWD Aussie Falcon  (Jan 05, 2013) @Matt, my apologies the comment was responding to and meant for @Max. Well, they both start with M ...
  • Time's Up for the RWD Aussie Falcon  (Jan 05, 2013) @Matt; as I understand it the luxury car tax applies to cars above a certain value, not to imports only (http://www.ato.gov.au/businesses/content.aspx?doc=/content/13288.htm&page=2). When 1st introduced it came in just above the value of a Caprice.
  • Time's Up for the RWD Aussie Falcon  (Jan 05, 2013) @Max, how will stopping RWD Falcon production influence tax rates on cars?
  • Has Retro Design Run its Course?  (Jan 04, 2013) Unsafe in an accident / much safer in an accident. My first car was an old Mini; went ok, a pain to work on & would have been hopeless in an accident.
  • DFA: FJ Cruiser Sand Dune Jump Fail  (Dec 30, 2012) I can't understand why there is so much criticism of individuals rather than focusing on what they did (eg drive off a cliff) or said (eg calling a Ford a Toyota). I, at least, would find Carbuzz more pleasant without the abuse. Cheers all.
