ZR Auto's MC12 Corsa at Driven 2013(May 15, 2013)It does not hurt the collectibility.
It's a wrap, and it can be removed in a few hours.
If anything it will preserve the paint.
Either way I'm not a fan of the pattern or the color.
Supercars Invade the Highway(May 14, 2013)I read a story how the sultan of Bruni commissioned AMG build two replica 300's based on an SL55, both were right hand drive as well.
By the looks of the wheels this could be one of those.
Nismo GT-R Coming to Tokyo(May 04, 2013)This car is around a year old.
Obviously this car was built to maximize down force within the rules for the series it was built for.
Typically most road race cars don't go over 185 mph, circuit depending.
Top 5 Modern Speedsters(May 02, 2013)Will will is it hard for you to believe rich people like to have more than one car?
I have friends that have over 20 cars, many of them are only for fun or racing and some are just to look at.
Depreciation Kings: Mercedes CL55 AMG(May 01, 2013)My dad has a 2005 CL65, and that car is still one of the fastest on the road.
It's so easy to go from 40-120mph.
I don't think many cars can keep up with it once its above 30 mph and out of traction issues.
Depreciation Kings: Range Rover(Apr 28, 2013)People buy new because they don't have the cash and finance it for 6 years.
Granted you can typically finance a used car from a dealer also.
People usually just look at what the monthly payment is and if they can afford that they buy it.
Mazzanti Evantra Debuts in Monaco(Apr 20, 2013)The full name of the "Molly" in chromoly.
We use it a lot. 4140 or 4130chromoly is the shit.
Expensive Failures: Cizeta V16T(Apr 15, 2013)I'm guessing they used 4 heads with two cams each.
Only a common block and a single crank connecting essentially two motors.
I would be curious if it has two water and two oil pumps.
Range Rover Sport Leaks Early(Mar 13, 2013)This guy just lost his job.
Could you imagine how big of a mess these guys just made for range rover.
This tint shop won't get another job from a major manufacture again.
Porsche Upgrades 911 GT3 R(Mar 13, 2013)Brandon's got it.
The cool thing is that is essentially the same motor that's in the GT3 RS 4.0.
I was at willow springs and a guy had one of the 4.0's, the white with the silver stripe down the center.
BAD ASS CAR.
But for $250k ???
5 Ferrari-Powered Sportscars(Mar 04, 2013)Instead of changing the Enzo to a long tail version they made the MC12.
And made enough money off the sale of the 50 cars for a full year of international racing.
5 Ferrari-Powered Sportscars(Mar 04, 2013)And to the people saying it looks too long, this is basically the long body version of the Enzo.
This is why they made it, for aerodynamic purposes. Just like Porsche did for the 917 program and their long talk variants.
5 Ferrari-Powered Sportscars(Mar 04, 2013)Adam are you joking.
If you talk to people who are in the know they will all pretty much agree that the MC12 is by far the better looking variant of the Enzo.
5 Ferrari-Powered Sportscars(Mar 04, 2013)I'm not sure about the 600E but I know a lot about the W124 500E that was produced from 1990 - 1994 in a small subset of Porsche.
Porsche mainly assembled all the components that were made by Mercedes who did not have the facilities to build them.
Final C6 Corvette Rolls into History(Mar 04, 2013)"Will Will" with 215K of them on the road go pick up another one and push it as hard as you WILL!
I'm a purist and believe that the last one should go right where it is. To be preserved for hundreds of years.
I want my kids to go see it with me.
Final C6 Corvette Rolls into History(Mar 04, 2013)Don't get me wrong, I'm a Viper guy but believe that a 2006 Zo6 is the beat track day car for the money.
I have a GTS coupe turned into a full race car, we used to race "viper days" in the early 2000's but the Z06's are the best bang for the buck
Final C6 Corvette Rolls into History(Mar 04, 2013)It's sad because this is brand new, but it already looks old now that I've seen the C7.
And there is no way I could have said that two months ago.
I feel sorry for the amount of depreciation the C7 just caused all C6 owners.
McLaren P1 Hits Geneva(Mar 04, 2013)There is no stop to the windshield roof line = BAD ASS
Cigarette and AMG Launch 42' Huntress Speed Boat(Feb 11, 2013)The towing capacity of a g Wagon is around 10,000 lbs.
That boat is probably around 20,000lbs.
Yeah it could pull it, but not safely and not very far.
The range would probably be less than 100 miles.
Arab Supercar Attracts 100 Orders(Feb 11, 2013)It's one thing to take an order.
But it's another thing to build the car and actually collect the money.
I doubt they deliver half of them on time, if at all.
Aston Upgrades Vantage GTE Racer(Feb 08, 2013)You ever race at 180mph all the way through the night.
I think you will appreciate all the light you can get.
5 Upcoming Geneva Motor Show Stars(Feb 08, 2013)They don't Alex.
Ever seen an open cockpit race car!
Pretty much all you got is your wind screen on your helmet.
The small wind deflectors only push a little Air over you.
Heavy objects like rocks or tire marbles will hit you.
But that's the fun
Mario Andretti's Lamborghini Countach(Jan 02, 2013)I like white on black interior, the triple white is a little too much.
This looks too much like a 1980's vanilla ice car.
Tug of War: Duramax vs Touareg(Dec 31, 2012)I think this is the R50 version with an upgraded V10 TDI.
I got to drive one in Germany back in 2008.
This is Not Your Average Smart Car(Dec 31, 2012)It's a Polaris RZR 900 side x side.
The are very capable vehicles but would really give a driver a beating at Dakar.
There is a Baja class for these types of vehicles and its really tough on the drivers over the long race.
Lexus Builds the Final LFA(Dec 18, 2012)I'm with roman, this thing should have been a competitor with the GT-R, around a $100,000.
And no one asked for a hand built super car, Toyota wanted to show off their technological might.
And they did a damn good job.
Lexus Builds the Final LFA(Dec 17, 2012)Now if you have 10 mill, you can go race a viper act-x for many years.
That's what I would do, trust me racing a viper is as good as it gets.
Check our NARRA
North American Road Racing Association.
My family and I used to race with these guys
Lexus Builds the Final LFA(Dec 17, 2012)Depends on how rich you guys are talking about, and what the current income steam is.
If you got 10 mill and are buying half mill cars your blow through your cash quick if you don't have a fat revenue steam.
MT Loves 2014 R8’s New Auto Box(Dec 15, 2012)I love the side intakes on the spider vs the blades on the coupe.
The "hump" behind the seats of the spider is so damn sexy.
Like a nice ass on a woman, something about the curves!
Czech Track Car Packs Renault Power(Dec 13, 2012)You got a point AJ
But you didn't need to be so arrogant about it.
We are all gear heads around here and know what street bikes are.
F12 Berlinetta by Cam Shaft(Dec 12, 2012)I think it's genius to wrap a car like this.
You can buy it in the most resell able color, red, wrap it in your favorite color, Grey, then when your ready to sell it un wrap it and the paint will be perfect.
Genius.
Jeep has Big Plans for the Near Future(Dec 12, 2012)I want a wrangler with a pickup bed.
There are a few aftermarket companies that make conversions but the factory needs to make one.
Top 5 LA Auto Show Debuts(Dec 04, 2012)Jack calm down.
They are there and will be there until the end of the show.
Take a second and google it.
Just because you didn't see them in the man halls doesn't mean they were not there.
They are in the exotics room.
Don't be such an ass.
Porsche Developing Cayman Turbo?(Dec 03, 2012)I'm thinking something like the 4.0 RSR.
Only make like 150-250 of them, but give it range topping performance. Not as fast as a 911 turbo but faster than a Carrera S or even a GT3.
I don't see how that would hurt anything as long as its very limited
Porsche Developing Cayman Turbo?(Dec 03, 2012)I think there would be room for a limited run cayman Turbo RS.
It would be faster than pretty much the whole lineup but very exclusive.
Ferrari's V8: 458 Italia(Dec 01, 2012)Didn't the 458 set a quicker lap time around ferraris test track than the Enzo?
Vivid Racing Presents M5 Aero Kit(Nov 30, 2012)But I agree, hood needs to be painted.
Unless its black, that's the only color you might get away with a clear carbon hood.
Vivid Racing Presents M5 Aero Kit(Nov 30, 2012)You guys understand they want to sell this kit, they are showing the potential customers the quality in the weave.
I bet 99% of the costumers will Color match the hood.
Probably leave the diffuser and vents carbon though.
Vivid Racing Presents M5 Aero Kit(Nov 30, 2012)It will look good once it is painted.
Personally I would leave the vents carbon and color match the rest.
And I agree on the new style hood bumper combo BMW is using now.
Looks cheap.
I have an E39 M5 and the hood has the kidneys in it
Looks best
Combat Murcielago by LB Performance(Nov 30, 2012)Dude this would have been sick if they didn't use 1980's camo.
Real tree or digital would have been much better.
Ferrari's V8: 360/F430(Nov 30, 2012)It is also important to point out that the 430 was the first V8 to get rid of the timing belt, in exchange for a chain.
This was a huge deal as the belts would need to be changed every 7,500 miles and require to pull the motor.
Talk about expensive
4 Tuned Toyobarus(Nov 29, 2012)You guys are lame.
It's an effen race car.
Not sure if you under stand this or not, but it's there for a reason.
4 Tuned Toyobarus(Nov 29, 2012)Dat?
Really does DAT not look good on DAT?
Jeep Giving Grand Cherokee a Facelift(Nov 28, 2012)All car companies update their vehicles every 2-4 years, and sometimes sooner.
You see many Mercedes or bmw's looking the same as they did three years ago??
NO you don't.
Jeep Giving Grand Cherokee a Facelift(Nov 28, 2012)Erich
It's called planned obsolescence.
And it drives sales, which keeps profits up so they can develop new models.
Please don't be an ass and say that this is the "epitome of American auto makers"!
Jeep Giving Grand Cherokee a Facelift(Nov 28, 2012)The 8 speed is needed.
The wife has an overland with the 5.7, great vehicle, probably the best SUV in the size segment but the 5 speed is archaic.
Not sure I would get the diesel either, the 490 lb/ft is bad ass.
Ours has a MagnaFlow cat back.
CTS Wagon Heading to Automotive Heaven(Nov 26, 2012)I saw one of these the other day, that paint is nuts - super metallic - in a good way.
The black with yellow calipers is bad ass.
AMG Going AWD(Nov 20, 2012)It would be cool if you could deactivate the front drive with the push of a button.
With electronic differentials these days it would be possible.
So can have your big smokey burnouts, and your sub 4 second 0-60 time.
Caffeine and Octane Meet in Atlanta(Nov 20, 2012)I really don't like the Matt color.
It's played out and a pain in the ass to keep up.
Good luck polishing out a scratch, and keep the bugs away.
Audi Developing Q8 Crossover(Nov 19, 2012)When I was in Germany back in 2009 I got to drive a 2007 Touareg R50, twin turbo V10 TDI.
That SUV was a freight train man.
Had huge mid range torque and also massive brakes.
They didn't sell the R50 in the states, but google it.
It was bad ass
Audi Developing Q8 Crossover(Nov 19, 2012)That's over 1300lbs lighter.
Pretty impressive weight savings.
That's about 20% reduction.
Audi Developing Q8 Crossover(Nov 19, 2012)Guys it's all about filling gaps.
It's a marketing strategy, having a model for all price levels.
So depending on what the customers income level is the have an appropriate model.
Trust me these guys know what they are doing.
It seems to be worki
