Mercedes-Benz AMG SLS Given the Senner Treatment(Dec 30, 2011)Those increases sound like the "magic" you get when you put a relatively cheap cold air on a sports car... In fact, some ram airs make more of an addition that that.
Love the car though. A doc I play gold with has an SLS I believe, beauty.
London is a Supercar Lover’s Dream City(Dec 30, 2011)She also likes to race... Pulling up next to anyone with a fast looking car at the lights and giving the head nod if she isn't on her phone...
My neighbor and I have thought of putting her in her place, but it's not worth a bashed quarter panel
London is a Supercar Lover’s Dream City(Dec 30, 2011)Some old broad in my neighborhood just got a new 'Rati...... She always drives around, phone in one hand, nothing in the other (too busy making hand motions talking). Only a matter of time before she crashes.
London is a Supercar Lover’s Dream City(Dec 30, 2011)The euro going down is doing magic for us, at least it was last time I had 10 free minutes to check. Last I heard euro ingrained were pulling out of the euro and going into USD and pounds.
The Most Amazing Automotive Engines(Dec 29, 2011)They call it 6.3 liters because it's 6.24-6.25 or something like that, and I think there is some German law requiring them to round it up.
And heritage has something to do with it.
The Most Amazing Automotive Engines(Dec 29, 2011)I like the hemi.... But those are numbers close to what the LS1 was putting out in the late 90s from a 5.7.... Come one, the LS4 was making 405hp and 400 ft lbs from a 5.7 in 2002-2004.
So much more potential in this block.
Chinese Army Receives Armored Killing Machine(Dec 28, 2011)Yeah, 55 grain ball ammunition from Vietnam would go through that... China, be prepared to get cut to pieces by the steel tipped 62 grain penetrators that are standard US load out.
Chinese Army Receives Armored Killing Machine(Dec 28, 2011)Actually Dexter, they own about 1/15 of our debt, that's not the country, and the currency their gold and silver is backed with is the USD. So no, china owns nothing but some physical sores of USD to try to scare us with.
Japanese Developing Car Seats that Identify Drivers(Dec 26, 2011)Typical Japanese. Trying to use over complicated technology to solve a small, maybe non existent problem that no one wants to pay more to have "fixed".
I hope they dump money into this and it fails miserably.
Merry Christmas and Season’s Greetings from CarBuzz(Dec 26, 2011)Come on CB, gotta be politically correct now :P
You can't say Christmas, it offends Muslims and athiests :p
Y'all know it's "winter break" instead of "Christmas break" in public schools now? The world has changed.
Video: Matt Farah Takes the Corvette ZR1 to the Mojave Mile(Dec 19, 2011).... If we were both sitting in this ZR1, and you started talking about the interior, I could grab you by the hair and kill you via slamming your head against the dash or door, and if it's anything like my Z06, your head will give before the trim.
Video: Matt Farah Takes the Corvette ZR1 to the Mojave Mile(Dec 18, 2011)The thing with corvettes is they were designed around a 6 foot or slightly taller MAN.
If you don't have the build of a man, you will slide in the seats.
Next time your around a corvette and have the chance, drop a 6 footer in there. Perfect fit
Video: Matt Farah Takes the Corvette ZR1 to the Mojave Mile(Dec 18, 2011)The launch control is unnecessary, there are plenty of YouTube videos of people launching their stock ZR1s in up to .2 seconds faster than the launch control 3.4
Since yet upgraded it and it now does 3.3, I'm not sure how bad people beat the LC.
For Racing Fans: Ford Introduces l-4 Crate Engine(Dec 18, 2011)Example, headers that give the 6.2L LS3 a nice power boost can really mess with and lower the low end torque on the 6.0L LS2.
All because of .2 liters.
Maybe your buddy thought bugger was better and the diameter messed with the small 5.7?
For Racing Fans: Ford Introduces l-4 Crate Engine(Dec 18, 2011)Jeez that would explain a lot. Goes to show I should stay a mile away from I4s.
And any headers will drop your power if you don't get the right size. The diameter has to be matched up to the combo of displacement and bolt ons and tune.
For Racing Fans: Ford Introduces l-4 Crate Engine(Dec 17, 2011)Those look like some crap headers... At least get some torque improving headers... I'd imagine long tube headers would improve torque on a I4 like a V8? I don't mess with anything under 8 cylinders so I'm not sure.
Anyone want to throw in .02?
GM to Develop Carbon Fiber with a Japanese Firm(Dec 15, 2011)Just because you have "progressive" views doesn't mean I'm a closed modes bigot, common problem with you guys.
If anyone would like to shoot me a facebook message, I'd be happy to argue and justify my views in detail.
GM to Develop Carbon Fiber with a Japanese Firm(Dec 15, 2011)I can hate on whoever I want... And I dont have the means to write a 2000 word explanation.
Those of you who assume I'm uneducated because I feel I don't have to justify myself are just wrong.
GM to Develop Carbon Fiber with a Japanese Firm(Dec 13, 2011)Nice socialist view there Erik. We see it as more competitive since it is a "world economy", that means we are just competing with more people, some of whom can basically use slave labor and rip off/modify others methods/inventions.
Motor Trend Names Ford F-150 2012 Truck of the Year(Dec 13, 2011)No one cares if Suzuki makes trucks, they suck like the tundra and ridgeline.
And yes, GMC and chevy sales total more than ford, but ford still has better trucks... And I'm a chevy/vette guy.
GM to Develop Carbon Fiber with a Japanese Firm(Dec 13, 2011)..... I'd take off any part made in japan that I could possibly replace.
My grand father would cringe if he could see this, working with the enemy we died to defeat...
Times are sure changing...
Video: 9-Sec ‘Vette – Corvette Runs the 1/4 Mile at 147mph(Dec 13, 2011)I think it's the fastest street legal C6 running radials.
This is the car that hit something like 250 in the TX mile. Saw it on LSXtv.
It's geared for top speed/mile.
Still not the fastest, that dude has the wold fastest street car
Chevrolet to Donate Special Camaro to Wounded Veterans(Dec 12, 2011)I doubt Canada had 1,000,000 boots wet. I might be wrong though.
Looking at the concentration of force, application of tech (weapons: Garand, M1 car.), and production, we were by far the largest contributor. As well as $ spent.
Chevrolet to Donate Special Camaro to Wounded Veterans(Dec 11, 2011)Woops, later on devin admits he's from Canada. That just says it all. He's one of those people who tries to make it sound like everyone contributed equally because his country slacked.
It's all coming together now.
Chevrolet to Donate Special Camaro to Wounded Veterans(Dec 11, 2011)Of england's .303 ammunition, as well as producing Enfield rifles to pick up where they couldn't. Hundreds of thousands of them...
So get your facts straight, and tell your history teacher he's a moron.
Chevrolet to Donate Special Camaro to Wounded Veterans(Dec 11, 2011)Turn the tide TO A STALEMATE....
Japan had china on their knees, controlled most of Asia, and ha no opposition until we stepped in.
I guess the Russians were taking them too.
By the way, savage, Remington, and winchester produced the majority
Chevrolet to Donate Special Camaro to Wounded Veterans(Dec 11, 2011)Shut up devin. My grand father and dad would smack you in the mouth like the punk you are if they ever heard you talk like that.
The Americans supplied your precious Russians with ammunition, weapons, parts, and resources so they could finally
Video: The Heart of an Aventador Being Installed(Dec 08, 2011)There is a loose correlation between more cylinders and being able to spin up HP. Having the extra 4 cylinders will also lessen volume per cylinder compared to a V8, making less chop and causing things to run more smooth to a degree.
Unearthed: 2000 Honda S2000(Dec 03, 2011)Shewww, I should know this. Let me find my dyno sheet. Max torque is made pretty low, and torque and HP cross over at 5200 RPM.
I know hp doesn't max until 6,000... Maybe a hundred or two higher.
I'm not a fan of how high it revs though.
