GM Fast-Tracking Next-Gen Full-Size Trucks(Jul 29, 2014)It never turned out to be true that Ford trucks with Ecoboost V6 engines got better mpg in either real world or EPA ratings, so why should GM "panic" over a truck that has yet to turn a wheel in the real world and receive independent testing?
The Dodge SRT Viper Won't be Offered with the Hellcat V8(Jul 28, 2014)So the Challenger is too heavy eh? So what does that make the following?:
Mercedes E550 = 4156 lbs
Mercedes CL65 = 4940 lbs
BMW M6 = 4255 lbs
Audi RS5 = 4009 lbs
Jaguar XK S/C = 4079 lbs
I could go on but just cut the crap already about the Challenger or the Camaro being "boats" if these and others of like weight aren't sailing as well.
Chrysler's New Big Crossover Will Have a Minivan Platform(Jul 27, 2014)What a revolting development. The problem is Fiat has nothing larger to compete with GM's Traverse/Acadia/Enclave lineups. They're really big inside. Almost as big as a Chevy Tahoe but better packaging. They're not trucks but fwd crossovers that can be had with awd. The Acadia and Enclave are really nice.
An Inside View of the Challenger SRT Hellcat in Action(Jul 27, 2014)I still don't understand why some commenters insist on calling this car a "boat." It isn't any heavier (and in most cases is lighter) than almost any other sports coupe made in Europe. Is it the braking? It never was bad and now is excellent according to reports. Same with handling. Oh I get it. American brand. OK then. Smh.
BMW Marking 100th Anniversary with i9 Supercar(Jul 23, 2014)This design has such an Italian vibe. Must've been one of the design houses to do this. BMW mostly makes homely cars. Cars that make you wonder "Why in heck did they do that? They're BMW!"
Ferrari FF Gets the Full PUR Carbon-Fiber and Wheel Treatment(Jul 23, 2014)Only Ferrari I might break down and spend my own money on IF I were wealthy. Powerful, fast, spacious were it not for the insane price of ownership entry and maintenance it could even be described as a "practical" supercar. Much like a Porche Panamera. Just not ugly as that car is.
Future Rivals? Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe Vs. Cadillac Elmiraj(Jul 16, 2014)V16 isn't out of the realm of possibilities. Displacement is key, along with weight and cg. There's lots of room under that long hood for the right sized V16 to fit behind the front wheels I think. The V8 in the C7 gets ridiculous fuel freeway mpg. I don't see why a V16 can't do likewise and the volumes sold as a true halo car can't do much harm to the stupid CAFE regs.
Future Rivals? Mercedes S65 AMG Coupe Vs. Cadillac Elmiraj(Jul 16, 2014)650 hp is not underpowered. What matters is the 700 lbs torque to be able to move 5000+ lbs of car off the line and freeway pass with ease. Cadillac can match those hp numbers with ease but unstressed torque in combination won't be easy. But If any other engineering company can do it. Maybe surpass Mercedes if the reins are taken off.
Corvette Stingray is Outselling Both the 911 and Viper(Jul 15, 2014)Lots of rationalizing on here about these sales figures and the two cars not being comparable when in fact they very much are and auto magazines regularly do. Price is only a factor in that Porsches are way overpriced. Especially for the materials and labor involved. Corvette costs are more realistic though also inflated, just not as much as Porsche.
Report: Porsche Delays "Panamera Junior" to 2019(Jul 15, 2014)This is good because if this car looks anything like the Panamera somebody at Porsche should get fired. That car is butt-ugly. The mug ain't all that pretty either come to think of it. The performance and quality of the Panamera is unquestionable but DANG! I dew better looking cars in kindergarten.
Cadillac ATS-V Coupe Comes to the Ring(Jul 15, 2014)What no recall jokes/comments yet? Anyway, GM really wants to keep a lid on how this car looks. GM's only path is to keep making good product.
Check Out the (Supposedly) World's Fastest Caprice Cop Car(Jul 07, 2014)This car (PPV) was specifically designed for cop fleets and isn't available to the general public. Ford produces something similar and there was a now defunct (can't remember their name) company that built a specialized car not built off any production platform but couldn't win any contracts and went bust.
1,414-HP of Hell: A Pair of Challenger SRT Hellcats Do Burnouts(Jul 07, 2014)Again with the "lose weight" "drives like a boat" canards. ALL of the German coupes weigh at least as much and most weigh a lot more. Challenger curb weights vary from just over 3800 lbs to just under 4200 lbs depending on equipment. Same goes for other European coupes you can name if you bother to compare curb weights. Why no comments about them being overweight every time they're mentioned?
How Much Oil is There Left, Really?(Jul 06, 2014)While I'm at it please cut the crap about the planet being or becoming overpopulated. The entire planet's human population can still fit comfortably within the geographic boundaries of the city of Jacksonville, Florida if given the "cattle car" treatment. Think about it
How Much Oil is There Left, Really?(Jul 06, 2014)Every year the world's "known oil reserves" expands almost exponentially despite the fact the statists and econazis keep telling us every year we are going to run out. Don't trust me. This is easy enough to find out for yourself.
How Much Oil is There Left, Really?(Jul 06, 2014)Keep this in mind: America has surpassed Saudi Arabia as the world's largest oil producer DESPITE the fact that Obama just keeps shutting down oil exploration on federal lands.
How Much Oil is There Left, Really?(Jul 06, 2014)The propaganda on this has like everything else targeted by statists become ingrained in the minds of western populace that people believe ANYTHING they're told no matter contrary evidence.
How Much Oil is There Left, Really?(Jul 06, 2014)We are not and never were or will running out of oil. Oil is not a "fossil" fuel made from dead dinosaurs. Oil was proven long ago by the Communist Russians to have no organic component. As a natural ongoing process of the planet it can't ever "run out".
GM's Achilles Heel: Ignition Switch Made in China(Jul 05, 2014)Hmmm.... interesting. So what I'm reading is that a producer winning a bid to manufacture whatever product to a certain specification is absolved from responsibility of failing provide said product to agreed specification at a contractually agreed upon price because the bid was the lowest? Really? That thought process is so devoid of common sense I can't believe so many are posting here along that non-linear train of logic.
An All-New Jeep Wrangler is Coming in 2018(Jul 05, 2014)Fiat is going to screw this up big time. The reason Wrangler is so popular is because of the incredible off road aftermarket that has sprung up around it. Wrangler is really for American hard core off road users. Independent suspension is a problem for these folks. Strength and articulation are what matters most to these folks. They pay crazy extra to modify their Jeeps for this. Fiat will screw this up not knowing the Wrangler demographics.
Dodge Charger Hellcat Arriving this Fall – 707-HP Sedan Anyone?(Jul 05, 2014)CTS/CTS-V is in direct competition to S/E63. Charger is not trying to compete with any of those, clearly but seeking to dominate the American rwd 'muscle car' sedan segment which I thought all but dead. But Chevy SS and Charger are keeping the faith. Now will GM respond in kind? Ford isn't even in the game without a rwd platform in it's inventory. Mustang doesn't count.
2014 Cadillac CTS Sedan Recall Has Been Recalled(Jul 04, 2014)It seems to me this recall thing is overblown. Considering the enormous numbers of vehicles sold weighed against the relative and statistically few accidents/injury/deaths involved the hysteria is mystifying even if viewed through the prism of media sensationalism.
Don't Buy That Crossover; Get a Wagon or Minivan(Jun 24, 2014)I own two minivans both bought brand new in 2000 and 2005, a Chrysler and a Honda respectively. Both have no relation to a sedan chassis in their corporate inventory. Their design is specific to them. Get your facts straight.
The 3 Things Chevy Volt Customers Want Improved(Jun 24, 2014)I hope there's an insurrection on Sacramento. Drivers are already taxed to death by the feds, state and local that is supposed to fix and expand our roads. Instead it goes to subsidize public transport projects and systems and other welfare programs.
The 3 Things Chevy Volt Customers Want Improved(Jun 24, 2014)I'll take a VW Passat TDI over any hybrid. It gets better mileage than any hybrid or full electric on the freeway and just good as any and better than most in the city. The powertrain is literally indestructible. If I weren't so adverse to a car note I'd seriously consider buying one of these.
The 3 Things Chevy Volt Customers Want Improved(Jun 24, 2014)Nevermind the fact that greenery can't survive without carbon dioxide which they eat and emit oxygen in return for a diet enviro-nazis count as planet killing. Did any of these nutjobs get that in 3rd or 4th grade like we used to get taught back in the day?
The 3 Things Chevy Volt Customers Want Improved(Jun 24, 2014)I still don't get the tree hugger fanaticism over these types of cars, especially full electric. If one accepts the insane premise that carbon emissions are detrimental to the "environment" then the last thing one should buy is a full electric 95% of which get their juice from coal fired plants.
Harley-Davidson Unveils First Electric Motorcycle(Jun 21, 2014)Most riders of Harleys aren't "dicks" and guaranteed you wouldn't say that to their face... that is if you like living. The sound of a big V-twin might be an acquired taste... like the sound of a Porsche flat six. But then some riders go straight pipes unmuffled. VERY LOUD. Intentional.
US Car Dealers Are Now Scared Shitless of Tesla(Jun 20, 2014)Amazon sells a lot of different products from a plethora of manufacturers and warranties every "Prime" item they sell. Not being experts in everything they sell hasn't hurt my customer experience and I do LOTS of business with Amazon. Tesla is full of crap.
