We adore it already.
The upcoming C7 Corvette ZR1 will be a last hurrah for the front-engined setup, and it’ll be one hell of a way to say goodbye. We don’t know when exactly the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will debut, probably either at LA in November or Detroit in January (or perhaps earlier?), but we do know it’s going to be pretty close to insane, if not outright so. YouTuber Carspotter Jeroen recently caught the supercharged 2018 Corvette ZR1 testing yet again at the Nurburgring, and it sounds bonkers.
The pre-production prototype you see here doesn’t look any different than previous examples (it could even be the same one), but no matter, it still gets us all excited for what’s about to come. Chevrolet has been mum on details, perhaps wisely so, but there’s a lot we can tell from this prototype. Look at its large rear wing, for example.

Rumor has it that Chevy will offer at least two different rear wings, one bigger than the other. We figure this is the big one because, well, just look at it. What’s for certain, however, is that this thing is supercharged, evidenced by that distinct whistle sound. It’s also incredibly fast. Just watch it come up on that unsuspecting Mercedes-Benz E-Class like a Top Gun dog fight; if it had missiles it would’ve blown the E-Class to smithereens. In any case, the 2018 Corvette ZR1 is going to be epic and we can’t wait to see it camo-free.
