Sorry Audi, we know you’re trying to start an aftermarket parts line, but real tuners do it better.
What is it about the human psyche that makes it so we’re never satisfied with what’s right in front of us? Maybe it's our inbuilt need for progression since after all, constant evolution is what’s needed to move our species forward, but how much closer to the horizon does any one man need to get when they already have an Audi R8 V10 in the garage? About 100 horsepower closer apparently, at least according to whoever would drop $29,500 to tune their R8.
This R8 in particular, a base R8 V10, gets its aftermarket touch from Pacific German that makes it more powerful than the R8 V10 Plus. All the shop does is give the car an ECU tune that cranks the volume up from 540 horsepower, past the R8 V10 Plus’ 610 horsepower, and all the way to 640 horsepower.

To be fair, it’s not the ECU tune alone that’s responsible for the extra power. An aftermarket exhaust kit from Tubi unlocks more performance and makes this R8 sound meaner than any of its stock counterparts. With a set of aftermarket wheels, Pacific German’s tune makes us wonder why Audi is even bothering to make its own line of RS-branded aftermarket parts. As far as the eyes can see and ears can hear, this car is a complete package that perfects the already daily-drivable R8 to better cater to more extreme tastes. Even though $30,000 might sound like a steep price for a tuning job, keep in mind it's the same difference between an R8 V10 and the R8 V10 Plus. Food for thought.
