How big and is it still worth it?
Right now you can buy a 2017 Ford Focus RS for a starting price of $36,995. That will change, according to CarsDirect, for 2018 when Ford increases the price by $5,000, but there’s a reason for this. Late last month we told you about the 2018 Ford Focus RS Limited Edition, which will come standard with a whole list of goodies like a limited-slip differential on the front axle, carbon-fiber interior trim pieces, the RS2 package, 19-inch wheels, voice-activated navigation system, and a black roof and side mirrors.

While one could equip the 2017 Focus RS with all of these options, the final price will come out to about $41,770. So, is this really a price hike? Kind of, yes, but not quite. Ford is simply making more equipment standard, and buyers will have no choice but to pay up. It’s not a horrible deal, and since those options, mainly the front axle limited-slip diff, will make a noticeable difference, it wouldn’t be right criticizing Ford’s decision. However, 2018 is the final model year for the Focus RS, hence it being called a limited edition. Just 1,000 units will be available in the US, with another 500 going to Canada.

Buyers will have two exterior color choices, the familiar Nitrous Blue or Race Red. The 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque remains unchanged. We're expecting to hear an official announcement from Ford pretty much at any time, so stay tuned.
