According to Ford, this only affects the driver-side interior door handle, which may have been built with an improperly orientated return spring. Affected models include certain 2017 Ford Mustangs that were built at the Flat Rock Assembly plant between January 13 and 31 2017. 5,756 of the affected Mustangs are located in North America, while 266 are in Canada and 20 in Mexico. Ford will be issuing recall notices to customers of affected cars requesting them to schedule a repair at their local dealer. Once returned, dealers will inspect the spring in the driver-side interior door handle and, if necessary, replace it for free. Ford hasn’t specified when the safety recall will commence.
