This could be the best V10-powered Lamborghini yet.
Lamborghini is currently getting ready to reveal the hardcore Huracan Performante at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Why should you be excited? Because it’s the fastest production car the Italian manufacturer has ever made – so fast, in fact, that it has reportedly beaten the Porsche 918’s record-setting lap time around the Nuburgring of six minutes and 57 seconds. To get us even more excited, a new video has emerged of Germany’s Sport Auto Magazine taking the Huracan Performante for a spin around Imola.
The on-board video confirms that the V10-powered Performante sounds sublime - but you knew that already. As you can see from the video, the interior is an alluring mix of forged carbon fiber trim and Alcantara, and we also get a look at the Audi-derived digital dash, which doubles as a huge tachometer.

Being a track-focused car, it’s a given that the Huracan Performante will have more power than the standard car’s naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces 606 horsepower. Unsurprisingly, the Performante will be 220 pounds lighter thanks to its new carbon fiber components and a stripped-down cabin, which should improve the handling when thrashing it around the track. Lamborghini has also hinted about the Huracan Performante’s revolutionary aerodynamics with tech that we have apparently never seen before, but wouldn't go into any more detail. We’ll have to wait until the Huracan Performante’s full reveal at Geneva next month to find out more.
