and clearly it’s a rumor that won’t die. The idea behind a potential Cayman GT4 RS, which Porsche Motorsport chief Andreas Preuninger once hinted at, would be to shoehorn the 911 GT3 RS’s 4.0-liter flat-six into the mid-engine Cayman. Currently the most powerful and extreme Cayman you can buy is the GT4 and its 911 GT3-derived 3.8-liter flat-six. Now, both the GT3 RS and Cayman GT4 premiered at the Geneva Motor Show two years ago, right around the time Preuninger made his offhand remark.
