And more than 505 lb-ft of torque. No one is complaining.
Here’s the thing about the upcoming next generation Aston Martin Vantage in regards to its DB11 sibling: it shares the same twin-turbo V8, but also has a shorter wheelbase, making it even more fun to drive. That was evident in this new Aston Martin video featuring Red Bull F1 racing driver Max Verstappen at the wheel. Set to debut on November 21, the new Vantage will come powered by the same AMG-built, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 found in the DB11.
Aston Martin is obviously excited for the big reveal, hence the new video. Along with Verstappen, Aston Martin’s vehicle dynamics engineer, Matt Becker, goes on record to clarify the Vantage’s “just over 500 horsepower, and 680 Nm of torque,” or about 501 lb-ft of torque.

Becker also reveals it weighs about 3,373 lbs, a full 200 lbs. lighter than the DB11. The Vantage features in this video is still not the fully finished product as the engineering team is still putting on the finishing touches. Still, Verstappen was given a clear enough driving preview, saying it allows you to be playful through the corners but is still easy to control. Expect complete details and official photos for the all-new Aston Martin Vantage to arrive this Tuesday.
