Hey, it's only Bruce McLaren's ancestral homeland.
From the moment we set our eyes on the McLaren 570GT, we knew it was something special, not to mention stunningly beautiful. As part of McLaren’s Sports Series, the 570GT is, for the most part, a 570S with a slightly refined chassis better suited from long journeys, hence the "GT" moniker. There’s also that rakish rear glass, which truly completes the car’s silhouette, especially when compared to the 570S. It also makes it ideal for packing a few extra weekend bags.
You get the best of both worlds: a great GT car and a potent competitor to the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo. Carfection’s Henry Catchpole was fully aware of all of that when he decided the 570GT would be the ideal road trip companion to Scotland.

And no, this wasn’t a trip to Edinburgh, but rather through the vast countryside, complete with great driving roads and beautiful scenery. And, as it so happens, Scotland is the ancestral homeland of Bruce McLaren. Yes, he was from New Zealand, but the name McLaren is about as Scottish as you get. With its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 562 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque, the 570GT is more than just a high-performance sports car. It’s also a comfortable grand tourer, and its standard panoramic glass roof only makes the journey all the more epic.
