Rolls-Royce Reveals One-Off Ghost Golden Sunbird

Carmaker’s latest one-off is inspired by an ancient solid gold Chinese artifact discovered in 2001.
Hot on the heels of the one-of-a-kind Celestial Phantom unveiled at Frankfurt 2013, Rolls-Royce has revealed another one-off dubbed the Ghost Golden Sunbird. Inspired by an ancient Chinese artifact, a ring-shaped Golden Sun Bird made of nearly pure gold discovered by archaeologists in Chengdu, China , dating back to the Snag Dynasty from 1000BC, the special edition model is based on the long wheelbase Ghost and comes with exclusive gold paintwork stretching from the hood to the trunk.

Offset by white paint, gold detailing can be found on the wheels, beltline, grille and even the Spirit of Ecstasy has been coated in the precious metal. A brown leather and white trimmed interior matches the Ghost’s coachwork, while motifs of the golden ring are embroidered on the seatbacks and special sill plates round off the unique touches.
