American-only 911 race car set to compete in all-new United Sports Car Racing series.
Porsche has revealed its new 911 GT America, an endurance racecar designed and built exclusively for next year’s United Sports Car Racing (USCR) series GT Daytona Class. Based on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racer that runs in the Supercup series, the GT America features a bigger 4.0-liter flat-six unit rated at 470 horsepower mated to a six-speed sequential dog-type box with electronic throttle and pneumatic paddle shifters.

A new front spoiler and diffuser is married to a rear cover, carbon-fiber undertray and USCR-spec rear wing for enhanced aerodynamics, while a newly developed race braking system has been built to hold-up to endurance racing. Inside there’s a new Cosworth dash display, race seat, multi-functional steering wheel and a rescue opening in the roof, and an endurance package includes quick-release couplings for brake calipers, fast-fill oil refueling system and oil level display. Priced at $269,000, deliveries of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT America will start in October.
