There’s winning a race and then there’s this kind of feat. It’s no secret that Sebastien Loeb is an amazing rally driver, and when he brought his Peugeot to Pikes Peak, there was always a very real chance that he would beat Rhys Millen’s record time of 9:46.164 from last year. Millen himself beat the time this year by a huge margin, at 9:02.192. But Loeb absolutely destroyed it, setting a time of 8:13.878. That’s a whole 15 percent faster than the last year’s record.
This isn’t something that is seen all that often in motorsports, such a huge jump forward in the space of just a year. But the video is here, and you can watch it for yourself.
