In 2014,
Tesla will be replacing the
Lotus-based Roadster with a new Roadster built completely in-house by the California manufacturer from the ground up. To mark the end of the Roadster's production, Tesla created a Final Edition model, limited to 15 final units, five of which were slated for North America.
All will be finished in a special Sporting Atomic Red paint with two longitudinal black stripes on its hood and rear clamshell, and an exclusive set of anthracite aluminum alloys. There are no changes to the performance or interior, so the same electric motor will feature under the hood producing 248hp and enabling the car to sprint from 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds.
