Top 5 Custom Ferrari FFs

A variety of customized Ferrari FF models have appeared since it unveiled two years ago. Here are five of the most interesting.

When it first broke cover at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari FF’s unique Pininfarina-styled body polarized opinion. Over time, people have warmed to the "all-weather" Ferrari and we’ve come across a range of custom models as a result. From unusual body colors to power boosts, the four-seat GT has received a variety of treatments, from the bodywork to the 650-hp V12. Here are five of our favorite creations witnessed over the past couple of years.

As with all Wheelsanmore projects, new alloys were the main thrust of its FF transformation. Its set of 6 Sportz2 ultra-light forged alloys were selected for the sporting brake, staggered at 21 inches up front and 22 inches at the rear. Two power upgrades include a Stage One tune consisting of an ECU upgrade and chip tuning, which boosts power to 684 hp and 520 lb-ft. Stage Two adds a handcrafted stainless-steel exhaust with remote-controlled valves for an output of 700 hp and 527 lb-ft. The exhaust is available on its own, offering more power and a weight reduction, while a new suspension lowers the FF by 25mm.

As with any Ferrari model, most FF buyers are bound to opt for Rosso. Resale red, they call it. So metallic brown, strange as it may seem, was always going to catch our eye. Oddly, the color’s popularity has been on the rise on luxury cars and has also been spotted on a Mercedes E-Class and Audi R8. Listed for sale in Germany, the brown FF may not be for everyone, but at least it isn’t pink.

A custom KTM X-Bow was specially prepared for the Monaco gendarmerie and a Lamborghini Gallardo used by the Italian state police, so when this FF popped up in Beverly Hills we weren’t overly surprised. Decked out in two-tone black and white livery with red-rimmed Forgiato wheels, while it may look the part, the all-wheel-drive Prancing Horse isn’t actually a part of the local police motor pool. It was done up by Californian rental agency Black & White as a publicity stunt. The company notes that it's a regular supporter of the local police charity, which may or may not get them out of a ticket for impersonating a police officer - or in this case, a police vehicle.

Ferrari tuning specialist Novitec Rosso offers extensive upgrades for the FF made up in the main by aerodynamic carbon-fiber bodywork components fine-tuned in the wind tunnel. The parts include a front lip spoiler and a roof and rear spoiler plus a diffuser. The rear end has been further modified with an add-on for the production fascia and carbon-fiber surrounds for the black taillights. Side skirts, carbon-fiber trim for the exterior mirrors, and carbon-fiber roof cladding & radiator grille enhance the FF's new racing look, while 21-inch custom-tailored, lightweight NF4 alloys with five delicate double spokes (22-inches at the rear) complete the package.

German Tuner DMC upgraded the Ferrari FF to an awesome 876 hp and 636 lb-ft of torque by adding twin superchargers, a new intake manifold, enlarged fuel injectors, a massive intercooler, high-flow air filters and a stainless steel sport exhaust system with 90 mm tailpipes. The "Maximus" sprints from 0-62 mph in 3.2 seconds, 0-124 mph in 9.1 seconds and tops out a 211 mph. The Maximus' exterior is hooked up with a 100% carbon fiber body kit consisting of new side scoops, new bumpers, and rear wing. The front fascia contains an extended, sharper nose and the rear fascia has an aggressively styled rear diffuser and a heightened trunk spoiler.
