IED Gloria Revealed in Sketches

Italian design students team up with Alfa Romeo for a four-door concept to be unveiled in Geneva next month.

Every year the graduate students in transportation design at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Turin come to the Geneva Motor Show with a concept car evoking the spirit of a storied Italian auto marque. Last year it was the Cisitalia 202 E. Before that it was the Abarth ScorpION, and a few years ago it was the Maserati Chicane. This year the students, in collaboration with OZ wheels and under the supervision of Pininfarina and Fiat’s design chiefs, are focusing on Alfa Romeo with the Gloria concept.

Alfa released a solitary rendering of the design a few days ago, but now further illustrations have surfaced. These new sketches reveal the hindquarters and the interior. The Alfa Romeo Gloria concept, as we previously reported, envisions a sleek four-door sedan that could take either of the new family of twin-turbo engines designed by Ferrari for the new Maserati Quattroporte and earmarked to power upcoming Maseratis like the Ghibli, Levante and GranSport.
