Some of the cars that get blown up are sometimes just bodies on rolling frames. Real cars for when they're not being blown up. You figure 3 takes per shot, 5 at the most. That's 3 to 5 cars. And yes compositing and CGI do wonders in post-production.
Even if it is for a good cause you still feel the pain, especially with the maybach as it is no longer in production, thus making every example precious. At least the other cars featured in the trailer are still in production.
Well Will x2, you can rest assured that the cars were all totaled for a good cause. Good old fashioned mayhem on the silver screen :)
At the 1.26min mark you'll see a maybach, 1 to a few porsches, an audi r8 and possibly a bentley. I really hope these cars were not totaled in the production of the movie.

G wagon is trash I owned one for 5 years. The worst car I ever owned. Drove like shit, doors wouldn't open or shut etc

And its also not like its an extremely expensive car to build, at least not as expensive as some of the other high profile cars they are wrecking.
Anyway i don't feel the pain over the wrecking of the g-wagon. Sure, its a wonderful car, but for every g-wagon wrecked mercedes can simply produce another one, its not like there is a production quota or the production for it has stopped.
