Franklin BarfieldFeb 20, 2013 The C6 was able to get well over 20mp/highway in all of it's iterations base to ZR1. It also has to pass ridiculous California emmissions restrictions which are the world's most stringtent. Such is the case for any automaker that wishes to sell cars in this state... American manufacturers included.
Justin MaplesFeb 20, 2013 However im excited to see the final version of the z06 and zr1 they are truly impressive
Justin MaplesFeb 20, 2013 I really dont like how a vette that rolls put of the factory with 700ish hp at the crank passes emissions testing and os perfectly legal yet i cant own many fun euro/jap cars due to "emissions restrictions" and have to worry about how i modify cars
Carlos McCrumFeb 20, 2013 A Vette puts the power down better than most of the cars with the same amount of hp. Not counting that it's cheaper than most super cars and good as a everyday driver.
Tyler TarboxFeb 19, 2013 And yeah he is coming off as a pretty ignorant moron.
Tyler TarboxFeb 19, 2013 @Brandon. $5 says you've never even driven a Corvette
Alex SmithFeb 19, 2013 Malachi is coming off as a huge dumbass.
Brandon ChamberlainFeb 19, 2013 $5 says they use cheap materials like they always do
Malachi MonteiroFeb 19, 2013 Sorry for wasting your time time then.
Tim PreisingerFeb 19, 2013 Malachi,
1. No z06 has 350hp. A base C5 Vette does.
2. So you have more HP then the Vette... That doesn't really mean anything. It's all about power to weight. So not sure where you were going with that?
Jacob BurfordFeb 19, 2013 Well isn't that a surprise!
Zeus MochaFeb 19, 2013 Did anyone see the blue C7 vette in one of the trailer videos with a wide body kit. It shows up for probably less than a second.
Malachi MonteiroFeb 19, 2013 Nope never been in the 350hp Z06, have been in a Viper, Gallardo, F355, F430, Maserati Spyder. And my Escalade has more HP than a 350hp Z06z
Jack HowardFeb 19, 2013 Colby that last comment really didn't help your case...
Colby ChurchFeb 19, 2013 Just FYI, if you go to YouTube, you can watch a 436hp base Corvette beat a 570 horsepower CTS-V wagon. No joke. Fair, even race too. It all comes down to aero, weight, center of gravity, and driver skill upon launch. Vettes use hp very well.
Colby ChurchFeb 19, 2013 I can tell your never been in one before, because if you even knew how fast a 350hp Vette was, you would think 450 is bonkers. 450 horsepower in a Corvette, especially the C7 will eat most cars with over 500 horsepower.
Colby ChurchFeb 19, 2013 Malachi, please just be quiet. They aren't common at all. I see a base Corvette maybe once a week. I see a Z06 maybe once every few months. Z06 Corvettes go 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and destroy Gallardos. And they can be bought for under $50k now.
Dylan BruderFeb 19, 2013 Yes! The ls7 lives! Sort of!
Ben KnorrFeb 19, 2013 Oh man I cannot wait for these two big boys to hit the market!! I hope they flare the fenders more like they did with the C6. Really curious how they are going to cut weight for the Z06 model.
Malachi MonteiroFeb 19, 2013 Jack, I always use the ZR1 as a benchmark, not the "too common Z06"
Jack HowardFeb 19, 2013 Malachi, you're a dumbass. The Z06 is way more money and the corvette still has 450hp. It's still fast as hell.
Fred CaldwellFeb 19, 2013 Wow what a dipshit the new stingray is going to have atleast 450 hp and perform lime the current Z06 so talk about that hater
Cory DeinesFeb 19, 2013 Pretty sure the Stingray name will be reserved for the base model
Zaire WilkinsFeb 19, 2013 Forget the stingray bring on the cuddle fish corvette
Malachi MonteiroFeb 19, 2013 Buying a stingray now would be stupid, only 400hp in a modern Vette. Get it over 500 and then we will talk.
Tyler TarboxFeb 19, 2013 600 horses!! This thing will be sweet. Probably also cost close to six figures if not more. I don't care it will still be amazing
Colby ChurchFeb 19, 2013 Some people I don't understand. As a long time Vette lover, yellow is one of my favorite colors on them. It's bright, noticeable, exotic, and contrasts well with black and chrome. Love me some yeller.
Jordan NishidaFeb 19, 2013 Better in blue. The yellow just doesn't go with the ZR1.
Dylan BruderFeb 19, 2013 I hate yellow on anything
Ben KnorrFeb 19, 2013 me too! such a sexy looking car in any colour.
Bruce TumblinFeb 19, 2013 Hell ill take it in yellow with no problems!!
Craig LafeyFeb 19, 2013 @Tyler. Agreed. But still the ZR1 is a great car either way. I love this car. A little overly obsessed with it actually.
Tyler TarboxFeb 19, 2013 Yellow doesn't do the ZR1 justice. Looks so much better in the blue and in that dark shadow gray.
Description: Motor Trend’s sources claim that the new ZR1 will be powered by an evolution of LT1 V8 that powers the new C7 Stringray, but supercharged (as with the outgoing ZR1 to potentially crack the 700hp mark...Add Comments26
Nick HargraveFeb 22, 2013 The they go again can't stand to be put horse powered by the viper it's just sad
Aaron AbelyFeb 22, 2013 There is nothing outdated about a supercharger. They are being improved upon just the same as turbos. There are benefits to both styles of forced induction. Supers give instant power being one of them.
Alex SmithFeb 20, 2013 @tyler assuming you could find someone who has enough to buy your old ZR1, but not enough to buy a brand new one.
Brenton CozbyFeb 20, 2013 they never closed the parentheses!
Aaron CrispFeb 20, 2013 Colby cries and masturbates to the C7 at the same time.
David JusticeFeb 20, 2013 Fanboys: Please look up definition of 'subjective'.
Jimmy BartolottaFeb 20, 2013 Far as looks go. Performance wise the C7 will be monster. So taking that into consideration it is above the C4 there lol
Jimmy BartolottaFeb 20, 2013 Is just plain horrible. To me it's just plain like they just cut the car off there and I'm not a fan of the new exhausts and taillights. It's just my opinion which is sad because I'm a Corvette fan. The C7 is just in the same boat as the C4 to me as
Jimmy BartolottaFeb 20, 2013 @Colby I just don't like the fact that it shares so many body lines with other cars. Sure it's an aerodynamic shape I understand that but the front is too Ferrari-esq, the side profile of the windows follow the GTR's almost to a T and the rear to me
Tyler TarboxFeb 19, 2013 @Corey. Why? The next ZR1 won't be out for a few years and if you can afford to buy a $120K car then you could easily sell it when the time comes and turn around and buy the new one
Colby ChurchFeb 19, 2013 Jimmy, you and everyone else who don't like the C7 need to see an eye doctor as soon as possible. Something's definitely wrong. The C7 is sexy as hell. Especially in person. Seeing one in person is a completely different experience.
Logan GreenFeb 20, 2013 This view of the car reminds me of a famous movie star- a plastic ass.
Lou GuerreroFeb 20, 2013 That's how mine would look like. Kiss my ass if you want me to wipe them clean...IMO lol
Colby ChurchFeb 19, 2013 They have accumulated a lot of exhaust dust is all. They just need a good cleaning. Someone has been driving this one hard. Haha. My buddy's Z06 gets like that after awhile. Lots of exhaust fumes.
Zeus MochaFeb 19, 2013 plate with single pipes on both sides and they were pretty ugly like this.
Zeus MochaFeb 19, 2013 Actually both wrong. This has manufacturers plates. That exhaust has been through testing or something. Usually when I see manufacturers plates on a car riding around in MI they are pretty screwed up looking. I recently seen a GT500 manufacturers
Chris BernardFeb 19, 2013 It's only the sun that makes the exhaust look like that. Look at the way the sun shines on the road beneath the car.
Jeff LinkFeb 20, 2013 This car is amazing and far better then the C6. I don't understand any hate towards a giant leap forward for GM. The interior is far better and finally matches the technology of the car.
Franklin BarfieldFeb 20, 2013 There is nothing not to love about this car. The complaints that the car deviates in style too much from the previous generations holds no water when Chevy's research showed they needed to make the changes they did to sell to a younger demographic. I'm not young but this new design direction is very appealing.
Colby ChurchFeb 19, 2013 I love the new tail lamps. They look mean. People just need to come around and embrace them. And the chrome strip will be blacked out on the Z06 and ZR1.
Malachi MonteiroFeb 19, 2013 Love the exterior, but the interior is too much.
Ben KnorrFeb 19, 2013 It's a proper evolution of the vette I think. I'm still getting used to the back end but I'm sure it'll grow on me. maybe not the 4 pipes all in a row, would have looked better with just 2 big central pipes, or 2 at each bottom corner.
Bruce TumblinFeb 19, 2013 I like this body style better!
Tevaun MorganFeb 19, 2013 This is cool besides the hideous taillights but I going to miss the old design.
Cam HeaneyFeb 19, 2013 I just don't like the tail end of this car...
David GrayFeb 19, 2013 I just don't understand the camaro-esq back end! Why have they ditched the 4 circle tail lamps? That's been a corvette characteristic for years now.
Craig LafeyFeb 19, 2013 @David. Agreed. The C6 looks so much better. It's going to take some time for this one to take affect on me. I still like it tho.
Boyd BoudreauxFeb 19, 2013 I agree with David, the c6 was a much smoother looking car seemed like everything went together
David GrayFeb 19, 2013 Old 1 was such a better looking car in my opinion. Don't hate.
Zaire WilkinsFeb 19, 2013 Most exciting corvette GM has ever built and car not unless they build the cadillac cien
Aaron AbelyFeb 22, 2013 This engine on the other hand makes its power quickly and has whats called a flat power band. It's just two different ways to make power and neither is wrong or right.
Aaron AbelyFeb 22, 2013 High revs don't mean performance. The small mclaren motor you're so enamored with has to rev that high and use boost to make power. If it didn't have that it wouldn't create more than a v6 power range.
Greg KenerlyFeb 21, 2013 I like the new taillights. You can't do circles forever. As one guy said they would look out of place on such a sharp car.
Franklin BarfieldFeb 20, 2013 @Colby I agree. The Pratt & Miller C6.R is the finest iteration orf the tuned C6 Z06. The C7 design is beautiful, coherent and cohesive. It also gives Chevy and all the heavy hitter American tuners like P&M, Hennessey, Callaway, Lingenfelter, Mallet, etc a excellent base car to further give European builders the chills.
Eric MichalakFeb 20, 2013 OMG!!! Camaro tail lights!!! Everything is ruined!!!
Brenton CozbyFeb 20, 2013 how are they going to make this look anymore outrageous than it is for the zo6 and zr1? the zr1 will have to look SILLY
Tj MartenFeb 19, 2013 The lights have grown on me, I still gotta get used to the exhaust tho
Colby ChurchFeb 19, 2013 The tail lights fit the new car perfectly, and the vents beside them are functional, derived from the C6.R. Once people see the rear in person, many will change their minds. Believe me.
Mark JuirisFeb 19, 2013 Absolutely right Ben.. The car is all angles and round tail lights would be out of place. We all cut pizza into slices not more circles people!
Brendan CrawfordFeb 19, 2013 Agree with Matt. Makes it look to non corvetty.
Ben AugustFeb 19, 2013 This is one of the best auto-evolutions ever.
Matt PiccoloFeb 19, 2013 Still can't get over the rear. Wrecks the car for me
Bruce TumblinFeb 19, 2013 How could you not like this, it's great!
Michael DavidsonFeb 19, 2013 Yeah, I'm still not liking the tail lights.
Alex AlvaradoFeb 19, 2013 Back side still needs to grow on me
Craig LafeyFeb 19, 2013 I'm going to miss the round taillights
Janak SolankiFeb 19, 2013 Ugh that rear end ruins it for me.
