Dramatic styling changes are as Mercedes-Benz replaces the CL-Class with the new S-Class Coupe.
Mercedes normally puts a significant
amount of camouflage on its prototypes that aren't scheduled to reach
production for a few years’ time. That’s not the case today as our spy
photographers have sent us the first photos of the upcoming S-Class Coupe, due to arrive in 2015, clad only in the swirly stuff. Not only is
this first time the replacement for the CL-Class has been spotted, but because of
its lack of heavy body cladding, we can clearly see its overall shape and some styling traits.
The body is wide and muscular and the rear lights are placed in a horizontal position to make the car look even wider, almost like (dare we say) the
Chevrolet Camaro. The 2015
Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe will share the same platform and engines as the sedan along with the numerous high-tech features such as a new autonomous driving system. Don’t expect to see the new S-Class Coupe revealed for at least a year, but the sedan is expected to bow in just a few weeks’ time at the Geneva Motor Show.
