Aston chops the top off its new flagship GT in advance of its Geneva debut.
These are the second set of spy shots of the drop-top Aston Martin Vanquish we've brought you in as many weeks, but these have been taken at much closer proximity. While the factory development driver stopped for a snack, our spy photographer was able to get up close to the Volante (Aston's name for a convertible) variant of the new Vanquish, which was taken for a spin completely undisguised. There's no onus on the British marque to wrap up the convertible in camo as it mirrors the coupe's styling exactly, save of course for the retractable fabric roof.
The Vanquish Volante will also be identical to its coupe counterpart in terms of its powerplant, sharing the same naturally-aspirated 6.0-liter V12 that sends 565 hp to the rear wheels via a six-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic transmission. Look out for it at next month's Geneva Motor Show where it is hotly tipped to make its debut.
