Tony GarofaloFeb 20, 2013 Its a great idea by Chevy but it will never catch on
Eddy WangFeb 19, 2013 Yuck poo. Would never want one or rely on one either. Still using the old engine from 2007, same gearbox, which alot has had problems at roughly 90,000km which is 50k roughly
In miles, so still the old motor, rediculously heavy even with a 6.2L
Ben KroeschellFeb 18, 2013 Im glad Chevy is doing this, i hope this bring back the age of the muscle.
Patrick SchalkFeb 18, 2013 I agree Eric. The G8 GT still sold really well and are highly sought after despite the auto transmission. I will still look into gettin one of these after I get a look in person.
Eric Juice RobinsonFeb 18, 2013 Also, the option of not having a stick out the gate will lose some sale but trust and believe one will be in the works in the future. In my eyes When I think sports sedan I think performance, not family. That's the look the I get from the SS
Eric Juice RobinsonFeb 18, 2013 I think where Chevy fell short was the fact they were pitching to potential buyers is that it being a domestic car, we would have all options. For me the styling is not aggressive enough for a PURE SS but I understand marketability.
Eric Juice RobinsonFeb 18, 2013 Based on what I've read from you guys and the initial information Chevy put out. We all thought we were getting a bad ass sports sedan. Like come on a V8 in a world of small engines.
Isaac SuarezFeb 18, 2013 My final words on this, its obviously going to be a good car overall but you can tell this is not a real effort on their part. For us dad's, there are virtually NO new car sports sadan's under 30k that are rwd/awd...the WRX being the only one.
Isaac SuarezFeb 18, 2013 Btw, originally the G8 came in V6, GT, and GXP. Only the GXP had stick shift with the LS3 engine if I remember right so what we have here is a GXP minus the stick with a way better interior, tech upgrades, and high end tech added.
Isaac SuarezFeb 18, 2013 My issue remains, they offer it in a 6 speed stick all over the world but not for us American's? So GM, in your home country you deny us choice? Sorry to keep repeating but I had such high hopes this would be my next car.
Anthony PetrarcaFeb 18, 2013 As much as I think manuals are kickass and awesome for enthusiasts it's just not in the cards for an american sport sedan the taurus sho and charger srt both have automatics with pedal shifters so will this
Jimmy BartolottaFeb 17, 2013 Bs. We don't know the price but it's safe to assume probably 30-40k. For that price I can basically buy a CTS-V that HAS a stick. It's just plain stupid to not offer a manual in a car that's supposed to be somewhat performance oriented...
Jimmy BartolottaFeb 17, 2013 Not gonna lie, when I heard about this I was contemplating trading in my Jeep for it because I always said if they made the new Malibu rwd and with a v8 I'd buy it. This was essentially that. Now I'm learning it has no manual option which is complete
Patrick SchalkFeb 17, 2013 The 2012s did. When I was working at a Chrysler dealership last summer I would go over and look at the Buicks and they had one on the showroom floor with a 6 spd manual
Jon AshleyFeb 17, 2013 oh, yeah, it did. I was looking at the options for it at the chicago auto show this year, and the 2013 model had a 6spd auto standard. I could be wrong, but I think they ditched the manny.
Patrick SchalkFeb 17, 2013 Jon the Regal GS has a 6 speed manual.
Bruce TumblinFeb 17, 2013 I think they will add a 6-speed manual later on
James BarriosFeb 17, 2013 Like the overall look except the front grill area. Needs a manual option, period! When they commented about 17yrs since last RWD they said Chevy not GM. They were talking about the 96 Impalla SS.
Jon AshleyFeb 17, 2013 The lack of a manual is a turnoff. Its the same situation for the buick regal GS.
Ashton SummersFeb 17, 2013 I thought it was side wheel drive.
Chris BensonFeb 17, 2013 Regardless the caddy is GM and the CTS is caddy and is a rear wheel drive V8.
Matt PiccoloFeb 17, 2013 @ lizmary, they're both @ 35k. Not 40
Stephen Tyler LearnFeb 17, 2013 But facts are subjective so go ahead keep bitching
Chris BensonFeb 17, 2013 Um. Did I read this right? Did they say GM hasn't had a rear wheel drive V8 since the G8? I guess the CTS doesn't count? The DTS either? Hmm I guess facts are subjective?
Brady JacobyFeb 17, 2013 Put a cam and a procharger on this and waa laa, 650hp.
Tim RanahanFeb 17, 2013 Chevy needs to get rid of the cheap looking bow tie emblem in the grill, damn ugly. I agree, needs a manual tranny version. Overall I like the clean and neat design and the engine, can't wait to drive one!
Patrick SchalkFeb 17, 2013 Isaac, the G8 GXP is a manual. Good luck finding one though. I think the SS will be way more refined and grown up than an STI though. I don't see the same group of people cross shopping.
Lizmary MendozaFeb 17, 2013 @matt sti/evo is around 40+k out the door.
Isaac SuarezFeb 17, 2013 I didn't mention the STI because id like to keep it under 30k, but I didn't intend to create a list. S4, 335i, new Q/g37, wrx sti, etc. So, what makes the SS unique? A v8 and a bow-tie? Id love to buy American as a previous g8 owner but I learned one thing owning a IS350 and G8.....they are fast, but its boring just pointing the car in a direction. The fun to drive factor is what makes me stick wi...
Zaire WilkinsFeb 17, 2013 Cant wait to see this go against the genesis 5.0 and M56 and IS-F
Matt PiccoloFeb 17, 2013 U can pick up an sti for less than this though. Idk why he was talking about the wrx
Sam ReinselFeb 17, 2013 This is all true. But the lack of a manual is a total turn off. I'd rather have less comforts and a manual :/
Corey Alan KelleyFeb 17, 2013 I wish they had used the LT1 engine or whatever it's designated in this
Vince DeMasiFeb 17, 2013 Exactly what I was thinking Patrick, the guy down there is trying to compare a WRX and a speed 6 to the SS, they are completely different.
Patrick SchalkFeb 17, 2013 Even if this won't have manual, it's still a way different car than a Speed6 or WRX. This will have a lot more options and creature comforts.
Sam ReinselFeb 17, 2013 Or a speed6 or a WRX, or a CTS or the new CLA or an Evo or ANY other sports sedan with a manual.
Sam ReinselFeb 17, 2013 Colby, I get you're a Chevy fanboy but c'mon, not having a manual on the launch of a SPORT sedan? It's hilariously stupid. I'm a lover of American cars, but at 40k I'd get a 3-series with a manual. Auto-only kills this as an enthusiast's car
Matt PiccoloFeb 17, 2013 @ Colby, u know this how? Oh wait, nor mind, u don't.
Colby ChurchFeb 17, 2013 Isaac, a Mazda Speed 6 or WRX still won't bring the satisfaction of the SS. And the SS will probably have a manual version with more hp. Don't be pissed just yet.
Isaac SuarezFeb 17, 2013 As a previous G8 owner I see a car that is more refined, much better interior, and better tech. With that said, no stickshift option (when its standard around the world) is yet another moronic move by GM. I'll forgive the bland style up front but I wont forgive forced automatic. They also say it will be about 40k.....are you kidding me?? GM, your half ass approach has once again lost a sale. WRX ...
Edwin KellyFeb 23, 2013 I'm sorry for being picky but GM has plenty of rear wheel drive V-8's on the market, even a performance vehicle, the CTS-V
Aaron AbelyFeb 19, 2013 Jayson, it's not always about whats faster. There is a connection when driving a stick shift car that you just can't get with flappy paddles. The GT-R is a good example. Supremely capable but lacks soul.
Jayson LanksterFeb 19, 2013 Of having to reach down and shift rather than a twitch of the finger. Don't worry. Most flappys come with an S mode on the gear changer so it's just like a manual, you elegy to control when you shift and how much power you want from each gear.
Jayson LanksterFeb 19, 2013 Especially since the shifting is done electronically. Why do you think Ferrari and other top notch exotic manufactures use it ? Most Le Mans cars and cars of the same tier use flappy paddle cause it is quicker. It shaves time of the actual movement
Jayson LanksterFeb 19, 2013 I don't know why people always need a stick to want a car. It's not like the days back in the 70's that an automatic is horrendous compared to a manual. Nowadays, auto is getting just as fast, or in some cases, faster than a manual.
Ben AugustFeb 18, 2013 @Lou- Damn straight. I never intend to buy this. Guess that makes me the gearhead.
Aaron AbelyFeb 18, 2013 @ashton, the 04-06 GTOs come with a tremec manual. The same one that's used in the 03-04 SVT Cobra and even in vipers( though it is slightly different here). I have an 04 and the tranny does not feel anything like a rock grinder.
Michael BeachFeb 17, 2013 RUINED by the stupid flappy paddles.
Zaire WilkinsFeb 17, 2013 Ummm abraham this is a chevy SS it starts off as a racing spec
Cory OlnerFeb 17, 2013 Looks way better then the new 300.
Daniel EadsFeb 17, 2013 Bernard, uh almost all race cars have ether paddle shifters or sequential gearboxes.
Lou GuerreroFeb 17, 2013 So many people bitching about a car they'll never intend on buying. It's pretty easy to weed out the Nancy's from the gearheads
Bernard GreenFeb 17, 2013 This isn't a race car. It doesn't need a manual. All car companies are moving away from manuals.
Abraham MendozaFeb 17, 2013 And I suppose that makes Ferrari a company that makes furnaces right?
Ashton SummersFeb 17, 2013 A manual would be more fun, but GM don't have the greatest manuals. Remember the gearbox on the 6.0 GTO feeling somewhat like a rock grinder.
Tyler WallaceFeb 17, 2013 Chevy is just a dumb move company
Abraham MendozaFeb 17, 2013 Oh and Tim, don't you know that Tyler can afford a Bentley encrusted in diamonds?
Abraham MendozaFeb 17, 2013 Ah yes the R Spec, a performance variant of a car vs a base model sounds fair.
Jake DulaFeb 17, 2013 Well, they had a great muscle car on their hands here... And then they went with a flappy paddle box instead of a proper manual. Typical GM lol
Zaire WilkinsFeb 17, 2013 Thats why you get the genises 5.0. And smoke this. But this car deserves at least 460hp
Cory AllenFeb 17, 2013 No manual? They have already lost me.
Tyler TarboxFeb 17, 2013 This is now the car you buy if you can't afford a CTS-V.
Tim PreisingerFeb 17, 2013 However, I fail to understand why they would not offer a manual tranny right off the bat.
Tim PreisingerFeb 17, 2013 Tyler, To say Chevy sucks makes you look like a fool. They put out some of the best bang for buck cars around. Also, I would not call 0-60 in around 5 seconds slow by any means. Especially for a sedan.
Tyler WallaceFeb 17, 2013 Colby the ctsV does not have 580 HP
Tyler WallaceFeb 17, 2013 Of course it will only be automatic lmao I hate Chevy
Mike UlickeyFeb 17, 2013 Disappointed with only one transmission option, and the car itself looks kinda bland, maybe it will look better in person.
Description: Chevy claims it’ll go from 0-60 mph "in about five seconds." Unlike the old G8, there’s only one transmission available: a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. But don’t thi...Add Comments15
vinnyeye99Feb 21, 2013 what model is it? or is it just called the SS
Jamie McphersonFeb 18, 2013 I agree, would it kill them to at least maybe make the emblem body colored?!
Steven NevetsFeb 18, 2013 @Taylor I agree, the Ford one is well aged as well. The Chevy logo is just so ugly! Non-symmetrical and gold. Ugh. I don't hate Chevy, I just hate the logo I guess... Some logos stand the test of time like BMW and Mercedes, but not the bow tie...
Taylor OlsonFeb 17, 2013 @Steven, The ford emblem has been around for just as long its not just chevy that apperantly needs to move on
Steven NevetsFeb 17, 2013 Does anybody else think Chevy could use a little bit of an update? That bow tie emblem has been around for a hundred years (seriously 1913!). It's outdated and ugly to me. I get the nostalgia and loyalty but it's time for a refresh!
Description: Interior highlights include leather upholstery, a nine-speaker Bose sound system, head-up display, push-button start and safety features like Lane Departure warning and a Forward Collision Alert. Anot...Add Comments6
Jacob BurfordFeb 17, 2013 Performance looks good, but as far as performance goes, I'll take a Charger or 300 SRT8!
Zeus MochaFeb 17, 2013 I guess it depends on the situation.
Facundo Planas MartinelliFeb 17, 2013 Specs sounds good but it looks like a Malibu with growth hormones.... Dont like it at all !!!!
Dylan BruderFeb 17, 2013 It looked better on tv then in pictures honestly still like it
Patrick SchalkFeb 17, 2013 Probably because you are like 17.
Tyler WallaceFeb 17, 2013 I went to a Chevy dealer to to drive a ss Camaro he was such a dick
Tyler WallaceFeb 17, 2013 300 srt-8 is a sedan it's American and its 30 shy of 500 HP this is a Chevy and with that being said automatically (just like the transmission) ops this out lmao
Jon AshleyFeb 17, 2013 The only reason my dealer let an 18 year old kid like me drive the camaro was because my dad was there and interested in buying.
Daniel EadsFeb 17, 2013 Colby, you would go for the plastic grill because you're a corvette guy. I'm sorry I just had to say it.
Ashton SummersFeb 17, 2013 @Zeus, at least your dealer is reasonable. I was just looking at a run of the mill basic SS. Chevy pop those out like rabbits do babies. Ford, VW, Audi, BMW & Mercedes never gave me an issue ironically. Ended up not buying the Camaro after all.
Jon AshleyFeb 17, 2013 btw, I own a chevy sonic as my first car, and I have test driven a cruze and a camaro 1SS. dont get so bent out of shape
Jon AshleyFeb 17, 2013 colby, you didn't understand my comment. I was a bit let down by the new impala, with the fwd and lack of a v8 option or ss version, but now I understand why GM went more mainstream with the new impala, because they were working on this to be a performance sedan.
David LeeFeb 17, 2013 This is just what I've been waiting for. I don't like American cars that much, but I've always had a soft spot for the G8 and the Mustang. And I love this. If anything, it's better than a G8. Now all it needs is the ZR1 engine.
Jimmy CaseFeb 17, 2013 Coming from a new car chevrolet salesmen no one drives the zl1 or zr1 unless you sign a sales contract first.
Zeus MochaFeb 17, 2013 Well that sucks. My Chevy dealer has would let me drive anything but the ZL1 and ZO6/ZR1 because the people who will buy it will get anal about the miles on it. Then again I wouldn't want that either.
Ashton SummersFeb 17, 2013 @Shelby. I would have considered a Camaro if the dealer realized I was older than looked. "We'll let you go on a test drive if you put down a deposit first, otherwise bugger off" is essentially what they told me. Just imagine the service department.
Shelby CassandraFeb 17, 2013 Coming from someone who goes Ford all the way, I would have bought a G8 GT if the guy at the dealer wouldn't have been a sexist ass. This I would not even bother going to look at.
Henz HerreroFeb 17, 2013 Wow this make me realize how we like and miss the g8 so much.. The g8 looks soo much better than this.. Bring back the dmn g8 GT
Garret BialczykFeb 17, 2013 Not a huge fan of big lower grille, overall it looks mince though. Hopefully the next update will fix the grille :(
Jackson MichaelFeb 17, 2013 "but people like to pick favorites and bash everything else" lol Colby is hypocritical as hell. The grill would still look bad on a Mercedes or any other decent car. The top half is like an old Merc grill and the bottom looks like a Hyundai grill and the logo looks way out of place
Tim PreisingerFeb 17, 2013 As big of a Chevy fan as I am. I agree with just about everyone... I don't care for the MASSIVE gold Bow tie right smack in the middle. The rest looks perfect IMO
Ferniand SilviaFeb 17, 2013 The big plastic piece on the front screams cheap, but the rest looks good. Chevy was so close but falls just short again. Make it shiny or black, anything but plastic. Needs manual option too, just pull from the camaro/vett parts bin, not that hard
Ben AugustFeb 17, 2013 Chevy should stick to Corvettes, Camaros, and trucks. And maybe a new Bel-Air.
Darren NardoFeb 17, 2013 Liked the G8s better. This is a little to bland. Gonna be a badass car though!
David GomezFeb 17, 2013 Or the Holden's front end maybe
David GomezFeb 17, 2013 Maybe a grill without the chev
Jordan NishidaFeb 17, 2013 It's good looking, but the HSV commodore is better looking than this
Avery LukanFeb 17, 2013 Hmm another bland, boring Chevy. I wish I could love the brand but having only a decent Camaro and a respectable Corvette aren't enough to cover for all the other boring and poor vehicles that Chevy makes. This is disappointing.
Justin RouthFeb 17, 2013 I like it. Its good but its not great. A little bland for its performance. The auto only option really disappoints me too, especially coming from the same company that makes the corvette, ZL1, and CTS-V
Sam ReinselFeb 17, 2013 @Colby, yeah, people go for the Merc because it LOOKs better, and will most likely perform better.
Matt PiccoloFeb 17, 2013 Fix the grill and its perfect. This looks great!
Mike RalshFeb 17, 2013 Colby, stop being over defensive.
Jt CollierFeb 17, 2013 very bland styling, the G8 looked a million times better
Car GuyFeb 17, 2013 Coming from a guy who protects the corvette with his life.
Colby ChurchFeb 17, 2013 If that was on a Mercedes people wouldn't say shit, but people like to pick favorites and bash everything else.
Colby ChurchFeb 17, 2013 @Jon This has nothing to do with the Impala? Moron. Impala is FWD and uses a completely different platform. Go back to school. And people can hate, but I think it's a pretty sexy car, and I like the "plastic" grill. Looks appropriate.
Leigh MartinFeb 17, 2013 Can somebody at GM please make a damn SILVER Chevy symbol? Holy shit, that big gold thing looks gross on 90% of their cars! And don't give me the "tradition" speech, it's FN ugly!
David BradleyFeb 17, 2013 Need to get rid of that big plastic piece on the bottom grill
Jon AshleyFeb 17, 2013 so this is why the new impala is crap
Brendan BellFeb 17, 2013 It just looks really disproportionate
Brendan BellFeb 17, 2013 I would rather just have the g8 again. It was so much better looking
Douglas GoncalvesFeb 17, 2013 Yep, the G8 looks better than this oversized Chevy Cruze.
Jorge GonzalezFeb 18, 2013 The g8 did look better, and they didn't even change shit between this and the commodore ss. Just slapped a chevy badge on it and called it a day.
Brian HowardFeb 18, 2013 It's not the same car the g8 looked good this looks like Chevys typical plastic crap
Jeremy KertgateFeb 18, 2013 @patrick well there u have it LOL
Aaron JohnssonFeb 17, 2013 This is a pretty plain Jane design and I can't see this selling in respectable numbers for many reasons
Matt MarchantFeb 18, 2013 Why not give them the quad exhaust from our SSV?
Patrick SchalkFeb 18, 2013 Plenty of Audis, Mercs, and BMWs to know the difference. If you like boring lackluster designed interiors then that's cool. But I don't see the point in it.
Patrick SchalkFeb 18, 2013 I'm not questioning the materials that are used in the interiors, I'm saying the DESIGN is boring as hell. It's the same design they've used since the 80s but with nicer materials. There's no flare or character at all in those cars. And I have driven
Aaron AbelyFeb 18, 2013 Saying "your stupid" doesn't make you look any better. It would be "you're stupid." As in you are.
Dave SasserFeb 18, 2013 People stop being idiots this is better then most bland BMW and Mercedes interior if u can't face that u need help with denial I agree with Patrick BMW and Mercedes isn't great anymore there bland and look the same as other models they make
Jacob BurfordFeb 17, 2013 Looks cheap! Not as nice as new Corvette interior!
Jacob BurfordFeb 17, 2013 @Patrick Better than BMW or Mercedes interior! Nice joke!
Zaire WilkinsFeb 17, 2013 @patrick haha your umm whats that word (Funny)
Chris FriendFeb 17, 2013 >This is better than a Mercedes Interior
This literally looks like every other chevy and cadillac interior
Abraham MendozaFeb 17, 2013 Says the guy that calls Chevy a moving company.
Dave RainFeb 17, 2013 Nice, but the tunnel gauges are spaced out much to far apart.
Patrick SchalkFeb 17, 2013 This is better than any Merc or BMW interior. Those things are bland as hell and still have the old ass radio in them and boring buttons.
Julian PilinciFeb 17, 2013 This is a very boring interior, nothing well designed.
Ashton SummersFeb 17, 2013 Looks quality and a nice place to sit. Especially when you have a lot of time to look at the interior if your in roll-stop traffic.
Jackson MichaelFeb 17, 2013 It's not amazing or anything but it's a solid interior for its price range
Tim PreisingerFeb 17, 2013 I think it looks great! Would also like to see the options list though
Alex SmithFeb 18, 2013 I'd take this interior over the Camaros
William DownsFeb 18, 2013 U need to Go sit in a new Chevy, especially those top tier models, interior quality is great now and not much plastic anymore, I would be perfectly happy looking at that every day
Brian HowardFeb 18, 2013 This steering wheel is nicer and smaller than the corvettes
Jacob BurfordFeb 17, 2013 Every car has plastic, just some use more than others! Chevy is known for that!
Ian McNealFeb 17, 2013 I like the flat bottom steering wheel, interior looks well laid out, but I really hope they add the 6-speed manual that they already put in the Holden Commodore SS V.
Jon AshleyFeb 17, 2013 maybe not plastic alone, but theres are certain chevy "cheapness" in the cars.
Ashton SummersFeb 17, 2013 You get plastic in a $100,000 Mercedes S-550.
Jon AshleyFeb 17, 2013 plastic keeps the price tag low. just a chevy thing.
Abraham MendozaFeb 17, 2013 I suppose a steel interior would suffice.
Taylor J. BlakeFeb 17, 2013 Connor what new cars don't have plastic in them?
Ashton SummersFeb 17, 2013 Love the stitching on the dash.
Davey EdwardsFeb 17, 2013 Dealer: ...but if you're looking for more power we have this F16 with 30,000+ lbs of thrust
Abraham MendozaFeb 17, 2013 I like this car because its unassuming, it has legs but wont show em. The charger looks too outrageous, which is a good thing. But this is more refined.
Tyler WallaceFeb 17, 2013 Why is there a jet in the baccround like this about to take off lmao
Lou GuerreroFeb 17, 2013 I like this car. It's unassuming with a V8 up front and driving the wheels in the back. Not everyone goes for the boy racer look in everything.
Ashton SummersFeb 17, 2013 Time for a drag race. First one to 30mph.
Ferniand SilviaFeb 17, 2013 The front needs to be more aggressive, like the back is. Needs to be obviously different from the cruze, so it can stand out and say 'I'm not another cheap boring fwd Chevy.'
Hay DayzFeb 17, 2013 I hate to say this, but it's a bigger Cruze. They were thinking why not, because the Cruze had highest sales in its class for a while. I don't blame them.
Tyler Ray DeFordFeb 17, 2013 Another GTO fiasco. They could have at least made it look a bit aggressive
Abraham MendozaFeb 17, 2013 I would really like to see the similarities between this and the Cruze. Show me.
Patrick SchalkFeb 17, 2013 You guys DO realize that all of the things you are bitching about can be changed right?
David BradleyFeb 17, 2013 Glad Chevy brought back a muscle sedan but yes, very bland. At least the G8 was distinct from other sedans
Patrick SchalkFeb 17, 2013 That's what I said too. I don't know why they decided to debut it in silver. Most boring color. I wanna see it in red, blue, white, black, dark grey, and orange.
Mike ConradFeb 17, 2013 This seems quite bland. Doesn't really stand out much.
Ferniand SilviaFeb 18, 2013 Get rid of the plastic grill thing and make that section more aggressive, many more people will be sold. It's like they wanted to go all out, then they got last minute scared and covered it up with plastic. Get rid of it!
Its a great idea by Chevy but it will never catch on
Yuck poo. Would never want one or rely on one either. Still using the old engine from 2007, same gearbox, which alot has had problems at roughly 90,000km which is 50k roughly In miles, so still the old motor, rediculously heavy even with a 6.2L
No manual = fail
Im glad Chevy is doing this, i hope this bring back the age of the muscle.
I agree Eric. The G8 GT still sold really well and are highly sought after despite the auto transmission. I will still look into gettin one of these after I get a look in person.
Also, the option of not having a stick out the gate will lose some sale but trust and believe one will be in the works in the future. In my eyes When I think sports sedan I think performance, not family. That's the look the I get from the SS

Bs. We don't know the price but it's safe to assume probably 30-40k. For that price I can basically buy a CTS-V that HAS a stick. It's just plain stupid to not offer a manual in a car that's supposed to be somewhat performance oriented...
Not gonna lie, when I heard about this I was contemplating trading in my Jeep for it because I always said if they made the new Malibu rwd and with a v8 I'd buy it. This was essentially that. Now I'm learning it has no manual option which is complete

I think they will add a 6-speed manual later on
Like the overall look except the front grill area. Needs a manual option, period! When they commented about 17yrs since last RWD they said Chevy not GM. They were talking about the 96 Impalla SS.
The lack of a manual is a turnoff. Its the same situation for the buick regal GS.
I thought it was side wheel drive.
Regardless the caddy is GM and the CTS is caddy and is a rear wheel drive V8.
@ lizmary, they're both @ 35k. Not 40
But facts are subjective so go ahead keep bitching
@chris the dts was FWD
Those arnt gm
Um. Did I read this right? Did they say GM hasn't had a rear wheel drive V8 since the G8? I guess the CTS doesn't count? The DTS either? Hmm I guess facts are subjective?
Put a cam and a procharger on this and waa laa, 650hp.
Chevy needs to get rid of the cheap looking bow tie emblem in the grill, damn ugly. I agree, needs a manual tranny version. Overall I like the clean and neat design and the engine, can't wait to drive one!
Isaac, the G8 GXP is a manual. Good luck finding one though. I think the SS will be way more refined and grown up than an STI though. I don't see the same group of people cross shopping.
@matt sti/evo is around 40+k out the door.
I didn't mention the STI because id like to keep it under 30k, but I didn't intend to create a list.
Cant wait to see this go against the genesis 5.0 and M56 and IS-F
U can pick up an sti for less than this though. Idk why he was talking about the wrx
This is all true. But the lack of a manual is a total turn off. I'd rather have less comforts and a manual :/
I wish they had used the LT1 engine or whatever it's designated in this
Exactly what I was thinking Patrick, the guy down there is trying to compare a WRX and a speed 6 to the SS, they are completely different.
Even if this won't have manual, it's still a way different car than a Speed6 or WRX. This will have a lot more options and creature comforts.
Or a speed6 or a WRX, or a CTS or the new CLA or an Evo or ANY other sports sedan with a manual.
Colby, I get you're a Chevy fanboy but c'mon, not having a manual on the launch of a SPORT sedan? It's hilariously stupid. I'm a lover of American cars, but at 40k I'd get a 3-series with a manual. Auto-only kills this as an enthusiast's car
@ Colby, u know this how? Oh wait, nor mind, u don't.
Isaac, a Mazda Speed 6 or WRX still won't bring the satisfaction of the SS. And the SS will probably have a manual version with more hp. Don't be pissed just yet.
As a previous G8 owner I see a car that is more refined, much better interior, and better tech. With that said, no stickshift option (when its standard around the world) is yet another moronic move by GM. I'll forgive the bland style up front but I wont forgive forced automatic. They also say it will be about 40k.....are you kidding me?? GM, your half ass approach has once again lost a sale. WRX ...
