People who can afford a $40k plus car do not want Chevy quality interiors and styling. This car will appeal to the broader range of people with money and should sell better than the volt, even it it does cost $10-15k more. Got lexus in the crosshairs
I doubt it will be a failure, not with gas prices these days. GM is smart using the volt as a test mule and taking what they've learned putting it into this. There's more of a market for luxury hybrids.
If priced right it then it will be a great seller, but like any Caddy they always over price them.

I was kinda wondering about the guts... Is this ELR going to have more? Like the 2.4 or 2.5? Or 2.0t? If they could push 220hp with the same Mpgs or close then they might have a keeper.
They have other cars for that guys, this is an electric car, it's what they want. They already have the CTS-V and ATS-V. They don't need more of the same thing, they need broader appeal.

One of the better looking cars on the road. Probably the best of the "lower" priced electrics and or hybrids. As a matter of fact, the rear end of this car is sexy. It reminds me of the first generation Lex GS that came in 1993.
I've driven one for a couple days and it really is a nice car. Not enough to justify the price tag, but if it were in the $25k or so range I'd consider it as a daily driver.

Compared to the caddy, I'd feel like I was driving an iPod if I was behind the wheel of this... I'm all for loosening the reigns on contemporary design, but it has to be tasteful and appealing, and this is neither of those...
I worked for a Chevy dealer and had a Volt for a weekend wasn't a bad car but the 30 mile range isn't worth the price tag. Unless you don't drive much. Also it's so low to the ground I wouldn't say its a good winter car.
