Description: American muscle cars are supposed to be all about the bang-for-your-buck factor. And there's little doubt that the likes of Ford, Chevy and Chrysler's SRT division have been bringing the &qu...Add Comments11
ChristopherandKimberly HelmsFeb 12, 2013 Even the top line models with all the packages are still pretty cheap. Go build and price a Mustang GT500 and see what price you get. Crazy expensive compared to a SRT Challenger
ChristopherandKimberly HelmsFeb 12, 2013 @ Tim
They are offering the SRT's at almost Camaro SS, Mustang GT, and Challenger R/T prices. That is pretty cheap.
Kevin M. HoganFeb 12, 2013 While they're at it, add the 8-SPD ZF, more HP/torque and a steeper discount. Despite what Gilles thinks, SRT is NOT AMG, BMW M, Audi S/RS, etc.!
Kevin M. HoganFeb 12, 2013 Personally, For that kind of dosh, I'd want ALL the options of the SRT8 Charger PLUS the Super Bee pkg, like the old model offered!
Kevin M. HoganFeb 12, 2013 All you have to do is sit in one and you can see where they cut corners! I'm amazed they're offering these models at all as the '12 stripped Super Bee was/is a sales disaster! It simply too expensive of a car to not have all the options!
Tim PreisingerFeb 11, 2013 Arthur, I wouldn't really call the top line SRT models low cost...
Arthur Erlend HarveyFeb 11, 2013 As a Mopar fan, it seems obvious they're adopting the strategy behind the successful '68 RoadRunner: High performance with no frills at low cost. We'll see if it's an attractive package in today's market. Collectors may snap them up too...
Pablo HerasmeFeb 11, 2013 They are good cars I just feel they should add more performance on their SRT models
Ashton SummersFeb 11, 2013 They cut corners by choosing interior materials that come from the bottom of a Saudi oil well rather than the bottom of a cow. Plastics, it's the future. Fortunately, if oil prices get higher, might be cheaper just to shoot the cow.
Brady WilliamsFeb 11, 2013 I think the challenger and charger would have made more sense as far as leaving options out
Ryan LopezFeb 11, 2013 Oh nice but where have they cut corners
Jacob BurfordFeb 11, 2013 This or the 300! Hard choice!
Marco BendelFeb 11, 2013 I love it, and the best bargain American v8 sport sedan out on the market today (not counting the CTS-V). Haters will keep on hating. Mopar power !
Lou GuerreroFeb 11, 2013 If this had a 6 speed, lowered 2.5 inches, loud exhaust and wide wheels with proper fitment, it would be amazing. And be plum crazy purple with the bee graphics
Mike RenautFeb 11, 2013 Got a lot of presence, maybe two too many doors but a great car nonetheless.
Description: The Challenger SRT8 Core features unique decals and trim, 20" alloys and black Brembo brake calipers, all motivated by the same 392-cubic-inch Hemi V8 with 470 hp and an equal measure of torque. ...Add Comments27
Markel BrownFeb 12, 2013 If it still isn't cheap enough then you guys are just poor.
Ryan FaberFeb 11, 2013 I cant believe all the hate people have against Ford. Especially the Mustang. its a GREAT looking car and handles a hell of a lot better than the Charger, Challenger and the 300 with that LIVE REAR AXLE.
Jake DulaFeb 11, 2013 The Mustang still handles better than a Challenger or Charger, live rear axle or not. Stupid Mopar fanboy.
David BradleyFeb 11, 2013 I have a 5.0 and there is no way of getting 26 MPG. The best I've have got is 15 city/ 21 hwy. and that's skipping gears and driving like an old man. Can't talk MPG with muscle car engines
Lou GuerreroFeb 11, 2013 Hmm, I don't think the Core line should apply to Chryslers. Kinda going backwards or them.
Ashton SummersFeb 11, 2013 What's someone arguing MPG on a V8 muscle car? Seriously MPG is boring. Gas was made to be burned.
Mike RenautFeb 11, 2013 Since I'll never own one new I'd prefer leather than cloth in my pre-owned car, wonder if that $5000 saving may bite you in the ass for car's value at trade in time?
Ryan Patrick ClausonFeb 11, 2013 I'll always take GM because they without a doubt build the best engines, but the SRTs are badass, especially the 300 srt
Paul SmolinFeb 11, 2013 I will take any ford over all other US makers, just think they make a better product.
Tyler TarboxFeb 11, 2013 same as the GT and SS even though it costs about $10K more. Pretty much the only thing I see that it has going for it is that it is by far the best looking
Tyler TarboxFeb 11, 2013 The SRT-8 Challenger is kind of in a class of its own. It's too expensive to compete with the GT Mustang and SS Camaro but not expensive enough to compete with the GT500 and ZL1. Not to mention it is big and heavy making it's performance about the
Tim PreisingerFeb 11, 2013 If they were the same price I would go for the Challenger and be a bit slower. Awesome looking car. However, with it being close to 10k more, ill take the 5.0
Jesse WilliamsFeb 11, 2013 I'll take a Chevy or a Chrysler over a Ford at any time. I don't like Ford due to to past reliability problems. If your going for a Chrysler product then choose wisely and try not to get a lemon and a Chevy is like a Toyota in terms of reliability.
Sam ReinselFeb 11, 2013 @David. Okay, that's REALLY comparing apples to oranges. The 370 or WRX aren't at all the same kind of car. No one debates between getting them. Sure they're the same price but neither have V8 or the same sort of presence as American muscle...
Wyatt GordonFeb 11, 2013 Jake, have fun with your live rear axle.
Jake DulaFeb 11, 2013 All you Mopar guys must not like performance. I love the '70 Challenger more than anything else in the world, but the new one just isn't up to par with the Mustang and Camaro, none of Chrysler's muscle cars are. I'll take a Mustang GT and beat the new Challenger in a straight line or around a corner, get better MPG, and all for less $. Kind of a no brainer, people.
David GuerreroFeb 11, 2013 I'll take a Subaru or a 370Z over a 5.0 or a srt
Pablo HerasmeFeb 11, 2013 I would take a SRT Charger over a 5.0
Ashton SummersFeb 11, 2013 Well fortunately I'm about as loyal to a brand as a Hollywood star is to their spouse. So if it put a big enough smile on my face I would buy it. Though I would spend the extra $100 a month for cow hide which defeats the purpose of these cars.
Brandon ChamberlainFeb 11, 2013 I'm a huge fan of chargers, challengers and the Chrysler 300 and a huge fan of the 5.0 so I'd take both screw the camaro, ugly mother fuckers
Patrick SchalkFeb 11, 2013 I'd take an SRT Charger or 300 over the 5.0 easily. You aren't really comparing apples to apples though Matthew.
Ryan LopezFeb 11, 2013 And they made less "core" Cars (as I call them) so it will go up in value (and they failed to say the more you buy american or imported products the better it is for the economy) so it's a good idea
Aaron CrispFeb 11, 2013 I'd take the Challenger over the 5.0, both are awesome though. I'm just a Mopar guy.
Corey BlomquistFeb 11, 2013 @Matthew, Fiat cannot touch the profits made by Chrysler. So the proceeds DO stay in America, trust me.
Matthew MoellerFeb 11, 2013 If you were on a budget you could just get a Mustang 5.0 for $30,595 which is 700lbs lighter, faster, keep the leather seats, and get 26MPG. Not to mention the proceeds stay in America rather than Italy. 4,387lbs vs 3,606lbs think about it.
Raymond ReynosoFeb 11, 2013 Mid 12, not bad. Gives me a heads up next time I play Pass Time on Speed lol
Description: It also packs the same Hemi (signified by special badges on the fenders), and rolls on 20" alloys packing Brembo calipers. Performance is on par to the Challenger, but with four doors, a slightly...Add Comments0
Aj WhiteFeb 12, 2013 er. Stays cool in summer and warmer in the winter. It's just about the performance for these, there is a regular 300 SRT or the others for those who want it.
Aj WhiteFeb 12, 2013 It's just about the performance. Why keep going with this whole Chrysler shouldn't have a Core model, that's going backwards. There are people out there that want a 300 SRT and would love this drop in price. I personally prefer cloth seats over leath
Bill Estep JrFeb 12, 2013 The front kind of reminds me to a Sebring or 200 touring
Theo HubbardFeb 11, 2013 Love it. Love molar. Cory. Why don't you use a wiser word than gay. I don't see how a car can be homosexual. Insensitive. Lets grow up and talk about cars not gays...
Cory OlnerFeb 11, 2013 Gay! Oversized avenger! Send it back and make something good. A 300 is top of the line why make it look like a mid level. Make her look like a rolls but keep it original.
Tim PreisingerFeb 11, 2013 Lmao @ Tyler. That remark made me "lol" in person
Stephen Reed Warren IIFeb 11, 2013 Might not be "ghetto" - buts its ugly as hell. I'd laugh at the person driving it. That's just me being an ahole though
Gray ConronFeb 11, 2013 Tim I'm with you it looks cool imo
Michael NienFeb 11, 2013 I really like the retro/classic interior that they're aiming for.
Tim PreisingerFeb 11, 2013 I guess I'm in the minority here but I don't think this is bad at all...
Justin RouthFeb 11, 2013 Im sure it looks better in person but man that dash is bad
Edmond GebaraFeb 11, 2013 Just. Awful. Certain interiors have the ability to be instantly old. This is no exception.
Patrick JosephFeb 11, 2013 Nothing wrong with cloth. Have a look at Audi cloth interiors for instance. However there's something I don't like in this car. The shifter. Never liked that type of gear selector.
Drew HumphreyFeb 11, 2013 Looks like the old Chrysler interiors. No.
Patrick SchalkFeb 11, 2013 You guys are tards. The interior is fine. Of course it's not as nice as leather but these things are fun as hell to drive
Scuttle ButtocksFeb 11, 2013 Leather is bounds and leaps better than cloth. I don't see why we're arguing.
Jesse WilliamsFeb 11, 2013 There's wrong with the Charger's interior, but I like the 300's interior much better. It seems as if the Town & Country and Grand Caravan got their dash layouts from the 300. It's evident in the shape of the air vents for the driver and passenger.
Sam ReinselFeb 11, 2013 I don't see the downside to cloth... Every leather interior I've had has worn out in half the time the cloth interiors do. Sure, it's nicer, but that doesn't mean cloth=shit...
Jake DulaFeb 11, 2013 It looks like it was all made from recycled Legos and old t-shirts is what's wrong with it.
Demid PetrovFeb 11, 2013 Leather is the component that defines interior of the car, no leather, sh*t interior
Paul DickeyFeb 11, 2013 What's so terrible about it?
