Mercedes’ halo car can now be tweaked to deliver over 700 horses of tire-shredding power.
The German tuner has revealed an updated aftermarket package for the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, following last year's "Silverstar" project. Initial performance upgrades boosted the stock 6.2-liter V8's output from 571 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque to 635hp and 524 lb-ft, as a result of a remapped ECU, a stainless-steel exhaust with sports catalyst, and special sport air filters. 's latest Stage III upgrade adds a supercharger, which helps up output to 704 hp and 631 lb-ft of torque.
Available for both coupe and roadster variants of the SLS, the result of these upgrades is a 3.6-second 0-62 mph sprint time, and an electronically-limited top speed of 205 mph. Other upgrades include 21-inch forged alloys by 6Sporz2, and a choice of either an ultra-lightweight aluminum coilover suspension, which allows the driver to adjust compression and rebound rates, and a LCS (Level-Control-System) coilover suspension that, from a touch of a button, can raise the front and rear axles by 40mm via a lift-up function.
