Consider it launch control for burnouts.
The new 2015 Ford Mustang is the most advanced Mustang ever. Specific details of it are still streaming in, but the more we hear the more we’re convinced this new Stang is a true game changer. The latest piece of info, courtesy of the folks at Motor Authority, is further proof that Ford has so far done everything right: the Mustang has a newly developed electronic system that will aid drivers in executing the perfect burnout. It’s called "burnout control," and is being described simply as "launch control for burnouts." So how does this system work?
Ford isn’t giving away its dirty secrets just yet, but there are a few theories. One possibility is that the driver will simply shut off the traction control, kick up the revs, and then dump the clutch. Call it an electronically-controlled burnout. Purists likely won’t be too thrilled with this, but those who want the Mustang to be a high-tech global sports car will go nuts over it. We’re just waiting for Ford to divulge all the juicy details.
