Audi Bringing RS7 to Detroit?

If you've felt left out from RS6 Avant action, Audi may have some good news for you at the fast-approaching Detroit Auto Show.
Between the RS5 Cabrio, SQ5 TSI and the US debut of the latest R8, Audi will have plenty of high-performance machinery on display at the Detroit Auto Show. But reports suggest that the Ingolstadt automaker may have one more trick up its sleeve to pull out before the doors close at the Cobo Center. In its rundown of what to expect at the Detroit show this year, Auto Express points to circulating rumors that Audi will pull the veil off of the new RS7, a hot version of the German automaker's flagship four-door coupe.

The RS7 would build upon the existing S7, but likely replace its 420-horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with the more powerful 560-horsepower version from the RS6 Avant. Considering that the aforementioned power-wagon reaches 62 mph in 3.9 seconds, we'd expect the RS7 to drop the S7's 4.5-second time significantly and help American buyers get over the fact that the RS6 isn't available Stateside. Other exciting debuts slated for Detroit include the BMW 4 Series coupe concept, Cadillac ELR, Chevrolet Corvette C7, Maserati Quattroporte and Mercedes-Benz CLA, outlining what promises to be a great show.
