Mopar 2013 Dart Headed for Chicago

Limited-edition Dodge Dart will be officially unveiled at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show.

Dodge has revealed a new limited-edition Mopar Dart ahead of its public debut at next week's 2013 Chicago Auto Show. Continuing a tradition that started back in 2009 when Chrysler partnered with Fiat, the Mopar Dart will be the fourth special edition Chrysler model in as many years. Limited to 500 units, the Mopar '13 Dart is powered by the same 1.4-liter turbo MulitAir four-pot that drives the Fiat 500 Abarth, mated to a manual transmission and finished in gloss-black with a pair of car-length Mopar Blue stripes, mirroring previous Mopar-tuned models.

The Mopar Dart is further distinguished by a ground-effects kit made up of a front-chin spoiler, one-piece deck-lid spoiler and an aggressive rear diffuser. Gloss-black 18-inch alloys, a Mopar badge in the crosshair grille, and a lowered suspension that drops the car by 7mm represent other unique exterior traits. Performance upgrades include a premium brake kit with slotted rotors, a tuned exhaust to help the engine breath better and calibrated steering. Inside the driver gets a custom Mopar Blue leather seat with black accents, while all other seats are black with blue accent stitching. The cabin is trimmed with light-black chrome and gloss-black elements.

The dash boasts a serialized badge, the steering wheel and shifter knob are wrapped in blue-stitched leather, and the cars' lucky 500 owners will also get Chrysler's industry-first wireless smartphone charging technology. They'll also take home a "personalized owner kit" in a custom-made black case including a limited-edition sketch of the car by Mopar Chief Designer Mark Trostle and a personalized plate with the car's unique "# of 500" identification number.
