Jay Leno Samples Polestar S60 Concept

Polestar may be playing catch-up to AMG, but it is making serious headway as evidenced by the impressively tuned S60 Concept.

Having previously hosted Polestar's Volvo C30 Concept at his garage, Jay Leno is being treated to some time with the official Volvo tuner's S60 Concept, finished in "Swedish Racing Green." There's a host of modifications made, some one-off, such as the widebody and carbon-fiber front clip, but the majority come with the Polestar-tuned S60. Built to compete against the BMW M3 and Audi S4, it features a 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine good for 508hp and 424 lb-ft of torque allowing it to sprint from 0-62mph in only 3.9 secs and reach a 186 mph top speed.

An unnamed US customer recently bought Polestar's S60 Concept for $300,000. That's big money, but If they can bring the price down closer in line with Mercedes' AMG-tuned models, Volvo could well have a hit on its hands.
