BAC Mono US Premiere at Cars and Coffee Irvine

In the market for a single-seat, street-legal race car? The BAC Mono is now available to US enthusiasts.

The Ariel Atom will soon have some unwanted company in the US. The also street-legal race car, the BAC Mono, just yesterday had its premiere at Cars and Coffee in Irvine, California. Sector111, the exclusive importer of the BAC Mono, fully assembled the first Mono from a complete knock-down kit. The importer is also claiming that its allocation of 2012 models has already been completely sold out but deposits for 2013 models are now being taken.

The BAC Mono is a street-legal racer that weighs just a tad under 1,200 lbs. Power comes from a Cosworth 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 280 horsepower. Unlike the Ariel Atom, the BAC Mono is a single-seater, whereas the former can seat two.
