2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and Wrangler Moab Announced

Chrysler announces two compelling new models boasting off-road gear never before offered on a production Jeep.

Next month will see the double debut of the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and 2013 Jeep Wrangler Moab, boasting off-road equipment never previously seen on a production Jeep. The Trailhawk, first seen in concept guise at Jeep's Easter Safari event in Moab, Utah, is available with V6 and V8 powertrains along with a signature appearance package. Up front, a black hood decal specifically designed to stop glare from the sun comes with a red accent stripe.

There are also black headlamp buckets and a gray grille surround, while the special edition Grand Cherokee comes with five-spoke 18-inch alloys and Goodyear Silent Armor all-terrain tires reinforced with Kevlar as standard. Additional aesthetic touches include a rear light bar and red Trailhawk badging. It's off-road prowess is further helped by a Quadra-Lift air suspension and almost 11 inches of ground clearance. Other details of note include solid steel rock rail body protection, Selec-Terrain traction control system, a rear electronic limited-slip differential for V8 models and Quadra-Track II or Quadra-Drive II equipped with a two-speed transfer case.

Inside, the cabin gets black leather and suede seats with red accent stitching and Mopar slush floor mats. The Wrangler Moab Special Edition is essentially a top-of-the-line Sahara equipped with extra off-roading goodies including the same Kevlar-reinforced tires as the Trailhawk, a standard Trac-Lok rear differential, winch-ready steel bumpers, upgraded rock rails and gloss black 17-inch Rubicon alloys.

Exterior embellishments consist of a unique Mopar "power dome" hood, black accents on the taillamps and fuel filler cap, a premium soft top and optional body-color three-piece hardtop.
