Starting with the 1984 model, the fourth-gen Vette was packed with plenty of enhancements including an impressively low drag coefficient, anti-lock brakes, traction control and run-flat tires. This generation is also remembered for its clamshell-design hood, giving unprecedented access to the engine and suspension. In 1985, the 230 horsepower L98 engine was offered, in 1987, Callaway twin-turbos came on the scene while in 1990, the ZR-1 debuted with a DOHC LT5 motor, freshly designed interior and $60k price tag, nearly double the price of a base Vette.
