Comments - Dodge Pulling out of NASCAR

Published: Aug 07, 2012
Description: NASCAR wouldn't be NASCAR without the automakers that take part. They provide the pushrod V8 engines, and the stock cars they power are made to look like the vehicles they sell in showrooms. But ...

I think it need to head strait back to the 60's with real car and not the same one, but who cares, and I think if Toyota wants to be in it then theirs has to be fwd until the Camry is Rwd, same for other makers
Henz Herrero Aug 08, 2012
Id rather have a company thar employs american than an american company in mexico. Id rather have some money go to the workers than making the ceos richer... u think chevy ceo cares about giving bck to the ppl
Zach Sullivan Aug 08, 2012
nascar is lame the Australians got it right with v8 supercars that is some bad ass racing with big American v8s
Das Stig Aug 08, 2012
ok, well if "NASMAR" takes off I'm the Bernie Eccelstone of it.
Aaron Crisp Aug 07, 2012
Obviously I'm not complaint against the employment they give (coming from a recently laid off construction worker), I have nothing against Toyota, they make good cars... But I still prefer American cars.
Paul Trahan Aug 07, 2012
Yes, Aaron, but Toyota does provide jobs for Americans, so that Americans can feed their families and put a roof over their heads.
Aaron Crisp Aug 07, 2012
Oh c'mon don't be like that damn article a while back saying "Toyota" was the most American automaker. Where do the profits go? Where is it based? Japan Japan Japan!
Brad Hickey Aug 07, 2012
Well it is the most American made car... Entirely produced in the US
Justin Brest Aug 07, 2012
I hate to say it but I would actually watch NASMAR! lmao
Josh Knight Aug 07, 2012
If they did motorcycles they'd have to change the name to NASMAR
Colin Dzendolet Aug 07, 2012
"win on Sunday, sell on Monday" doesn't have the same ring to it when your Impala, Camry, or Taurus is a cookie cutter v6 slushbox fwd, at least Dodge mostly had it right using the Charger
Stephen Cobbs Aug 07, 2012
@Das Motorcycle NASCAR would be badass though.
Colin Dzendolet Aug 07, 2012
I wish they would go back to the roots of NASCAR, vehicles basically pulled right off the showroom floor and stripped out, that way all automakers involved will have v8 rwd cars for us to choose from
Das Stig Aug 07, 2012
that's what she said! dodge better pull out because if NASCAR reproduces and makes a new sport like motorcycle NASCAR, I'll end myself.
Paul Trahan Aug 07, 2012
The sport itself is still all American. Isn't this old news? I thought I heard about Dodge leaving NASCAR at least three weeks ago.
Kyle McCullough Aug 07, 2012
It hasn't been all American since Toyota joined
Description: This season had just one team - albeit a major one - using Dodge engines: Penske Racing. But the oval-racing powerhouse is jumping ship, to be powered by Roush-prepared Ford engines next season, leavi...

They're suppose to make a statement later today, I believe
Chris Friend Aug 07, 2012
So they haven't yet. Change the title to something that indicates reports or "Dodge may be dropping out"
Jeremy Siebert Aug 08, 2012
This looks better than any stock car in the past 30 years...
Aaron Crisp Aug 07, 2012
What if it was like back in the day where you could have a coupe, sedan or a wagon? I know that's basically what the Magnum and Challenger are for but still... I would love a 2 door Charger, hell I love it even as a 4 door!
Chris Kuyumdzhyan Aug 07, 2012
It looks good as a coupe. Wish it was
Colby Church Aug 07, 2012
That'll suck not to see it on the track.
Ben August Aug 07, 2012
Ya, well stated. It looks good
Drew Storrusten Aug 07, 2012
I like this stock car more than any of the other automakers. It's the closest resemblance to its original.
Description: Of course, even with lack of interest looking like the cause, questions abound as to how committed Dodge really was to its NASCAR program. Dodge spends less than any other carmaker in the series, and...

Also I've seen the Dodge Dart in some Rallycross.
Donald Pittman Aug 08, 2012
SRT just got back into the ALMS this past weekend. The Viper did alright.
Nick Sti Aug 07, 2012
Will be on turn 2!
Chang Chen Aug 07, 2012
Will be on the grass at turn 3, or 4.
Colin Dzendolet Aug 07, 2012
on the subject of F1, slightly off topic, I'm gonna be on turn 11 at the Circuit of the Americas in November! Who's gonna be joining me there?
Stephen Cobbs Aug 07, 2012
Damn FIAT. I guess you cant really say anything because they basically helped the company stay alive but still.
Bobby Bob Aug 07, 2012
I would much rather see that. I'm not a fan of the American NASCAR sport myself.
Ben August Aug 07, 2012
Hmmm how about a Dodge/SRT Formula One racing team lol..
Description: Dodge, as a result, may have to reconcile itself to participating in less prominent forms of racing like RallyCross as it packs up its trucks and rolls away from America's super-speedways. UPDATE...

Damn, that's a shame. Hopefully they'll be back in a few years once they have the extra money to put into high-profile motorsports again.
Dale Schroeder Aug 08, 2012
Yeah, that's it. Positive camber on one side will make the car easier to turn into the corners. They also use slightly larger tires on the right side to help with that as well.
Bobby Bob Aug 08, 2012
Has to do with the banking of all the left turns, I believe. If anyone would correct me if I am wrong, I would be most gracious.
Adithya Chandrasekhar Aug 07, 2012
Why the positive camber???
Michael Nascimento Aug 07, 2012
Don't like the way this one looks. The charger is better. This just looks a bit weird.
Wyatt Gordon Aug 10, 2012
thats because they know they're affixed to a NASCAR
Brendan Bell Aug 08, 2012
The headlights look a little sad
