SSC Introduces Ultimate Aero XT

Tuatara-powered Aero is the ultimate Ultimate.

With 1,287 horsepower and 1,004 lb-ft of torque coming from its twin-turbo 6.3-liter V8, the SSC Ultimate Aero tops the list of the powerful supercars ever made. It's also one of the fastest, traded honorifics with the likes of Bugatti and Koenigsegg. Soon Shelby SuperCars will phase out the record-setting Ultimate Aero in favor of the new, more stylish and hopefully even faster Tuatara. But before it does, SSC is offering five of lucky (and moneyed) customers the special edition you see here.

Called the Ultimate Aero XT, the extremely limited run of just five models will feature the 1,300hp 6.9-liter V8, 7-speed SMG paddle shift transmission, and cooling, fuel and braking systems developed for the upcoming Tuatara. Performance of the 1,270kg carbon-fiber bodied hypercar is rated at 0-62 mph in 2.65 seconds, 0-200 mph in 15.65 seconds, and a top speed of 273 mph. In other words, otherworldly. "The demand for us to deliver additional Ultimate Aero's has been overwhelming," says Jerod Shelby, founder and chief of SSC.

"We have just raised the bar again by adding some of the cutting-edge elements from our Tuatara, to this very small production run of Ultimate Aero XT's." Once this five limited edition models are sold, production of the Ultimate Aero will permanently end, so get one while you still can.
