Cadillac 'Glamour' Concept Takes Subtle Ciel-ish Shape

Cadillac's concept from the Pebble Beach Concours has come closer into focus.

The Cadillac Ciel Concept first arrived at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance amidst great acclaim and plenty of fanfare, as show-goers gawked at the big convertible and its impressive 425-horsepower twin-turbocharged V6 engine complemented with a hybrid lithium-ion battery system. Though the American automaker didn't have a brand-new model for this year's edition of the classic California event, they did release a pair of renderings that show off a possible coupe version of the Ciel.

The new concept is meant to be a bit nostalgic in design and, as Cadillac's director of advanced design Clay Dean says, has a slogan of "American glamour meets American technology." The "Glamour" Concept, as it has been affectionately titled, incorporates the Ciel's front-end, headlines and grille design heavily while showing off a similar rear albeit with slimmer vertical taillights. It's hard to speculate any further on the Cadillac Glamour Concept, as the company has stayed mum on any and all details surrounding the new concept. We do expect to see a concept version of the Glamour coupe arrive at an auto show sometime next year.
