Nissan Juke Midnight Edition Heading to America

The Juke has a new trim package set to arrive in the States this September.

Nissan's shambles of a crossover, the Juke, has made quite an impact on the world stage since it launched back in 2010. Ridiculed for its confusing looks yet praised for its ability to incorporate a GT-R drivetrain (Juke-R, anyone?), the Juke incorporates the automaker's intriguing trend of poignant design language which shows no signs of letting up. For the 2013 installment of the crossover, Nissan has prepared a special appearance package and they are making it available exclusively in the US.

Coined the Midnight Edition, the new package fits all 2013 Jukes, including the S, SV and SL models. The package consists of a Sapphire Black rear roof spoiler and matching mirror caps along with a set of 17-inch black wheels. Nissan says the black touches contrast well with three new exterior colors: Atomic Gold, Brilliant Silver and Pearl White. The 2013 Nissan Juke continues to utilize its 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four rated at 188 horsepower. It can be had in either front- or all-wheel drive configurations. "The Midnight Edition Juke stands out by its subtlety," said Nissan's North American VP and GM Al Castignetti.

"The combination of black-on-black-on-black wheels, spoiler and mirrors gives JUKE a dramatic new look, which we think enhances its already bold styling. We expect it to be a very popular addition to the JUKE lineup for 2013." Available nation-wide from Nissan dealers starting in September, the Midnight Edition runs an extra $1,200 on top of the 2013 Juke's base cost.
