Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection Announced

Seaplanes and luxury is what the British manufacturer's latest special edition is all about.
Seaplanes don't usually serve as inspiration for automobile designs, however Rolls-Royce isn't any ordinary automaker. The new Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection pays homage to the Schneider Trophy-winning and Rolls-powered Supermarine S6B with a cockpit theme based on aviation and exterior styling to match. Set for a debut later today at the Pebble Beach Quail gathering, the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection features an Aviator Grey exterior finish.

Providing a brilliant contrast is a matte hood, window and grille. Impressive as the exterior may be, the interior is where the luxury specialists get to serious business. Mahogany wood, stainless-steel veneers, custom floor mats and a Thommen aviation-grade clock with blood orange needle tips embedded in metal foil sets this Phantom Coupe apart from the rest. "Our founding forefather Charles Stewart Rolls was a pioneer who pushed the boundaries of motoring and aviation to the limit," said Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos.
"With our exclusive Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection we celebrate this great British hero, presenting a car which hints at experiments in early flight married to the best engineering, modern design and exquisitely crafted materials. The collection takes Rolls-Royce Bespoke to new levels of subtle, yet beautiful detailing." Rolls-Royce say they will produce the Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection in only 35 units to suggest not only exclusiveness but collecting power for the special limited edition model. With highly-polished aluminum cup-holders, it's safe to say this is a Rolls like none other.
