Nate MataAug 17, 2012 A gt500 chasing it would've been even more epic
Aaron CrispAug 17, 2012 @Adam Maybe if it was a Hennessy ZL1 :)
Drew StorrustenAug 17, 2012 @bill!!!! Bill has his head on straight. Javelin would be awesome to see right now. And the GTO!!! I own an 88 mustang, but I seriously enjoyed the fairlanes or Nova's or even the dodge darts. The non-super advertised underdogs. Real gems. Hahaha. :D
Read MillsAug 17, 2012 I have a 2010 GT 'Stang. Sure I wish I had waited for the 5.0 or the Boss, and sure the Camaro has better suspension/handling. But even though it's an "inferior' Mustang, I love it to death. Just how Challenger owners love theirs! To each their own!
Read MillsAug 17, 2012 Maybe it's just me but arguing which is better is well... A bit pointless. Muscle/Pony cars are supposed to be a base car which owners can upgrade/modify to his/her liking. And they are supposed to be cheap!
Miguel JimenezAug 16, 2012 @Jordan The Fire bird has always been a rebadged Camaro, I didn't mind when they did it 50 years ago and I don't mind now.
Jordan JacksonAug 16, 2012 Idk if a new firebird would be a good idea, because you know it would wind up being a rebadged camaro
Abraham MendozaAug 16, 2012 Alvaro, you're absolutely right. It would've been a little bigger than the Camaro, more luxurious, and awesome. Not a day goes by where I wonder what could've been.
Alvaro PerezAug 16, 2012 I've ended the fight between chevy and ford fan boys
Jordan JacksonAug 16, 2012 @Jordan: ok, lol then never mind, I thought that it was a bigger car
Alvaro PerezAug 16, 2012 And plus every one knows if the GTO was still here it would of been the best the best muscle car
Alvaro PerezAug 16, 2012 How long is this fan boy fight going to last
Miguel JimenezAug 16, 2012 @Abraham I agree with you, I feel like chevy could of took a little more time on the 'Maro. It's to heavy, and it's underpowered compared to it's competitors
Miguel JimenezAug 16, 2012 @Sam No...The 1970 Chevy Chevelle 454SS was estimated 450hp but really made 580 at the fly wheel and 605lb/ft of torque at the crank. Dodge's 426 hemi also made around 560 at flywheel.
Jordan HenryAug 16, 2012 @Jordan. The Barracuda started out in the same class as the Dodge Dart (an A body) from 1964-1969. For 1970-1974 it shared the same platform as the Challenger (an E body).
Abraham MendozaAug 16, 2012 @Sam: Are you sure it wasn't in race form? Because Nascar stock cars developed about 500-600hp.
Jordan JacksonAug 16, 2012 Plus the Barracuda counts as a muscle car doesn't it? Not a pony car, if I'm wrong let me know, but I thought they were in different classes.
Jordan JacksonAug 16, 2012 @Jordan: (wow that's weird, lol) I think the point he was trying to make is that there probably wouldn't have been a chally or cuda w/o the stang or camaro
Sam HansenAug 16, 2012 The BOSS 429 Mustang was the most powerful car out of the US in 1969 and 1970. It was conservatively rated at around 385 horsepower but actually made well over 520.
That's a lot even for 2012, but was astronomical for the late 60's.
Devin BabynAug 16, 2012 So many of you love making false claims about your favorite car. If you want to debate use facts and be true to them. By that I mean don't find a track time where your fav won by 1 sec then say oh it destroys (opposing car)
Christopher Helms Aug 16, 2012 Bruce you really sound like a fanboy right now lol. Chrysler puts more time into their NA engines on purpose. It's so the buyer can make his or her own add ons. If your so stuck on Ford then that's fine, but don't criticise something that you don't know the meaning behind. And I love that little 13 year old attitude that says hmph I don't want to talk to you because I will throw a fit. Grow up dud...
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 Oh & JORDAN as far as the 1970 CUDA/CHALLY good cars but I would take the 1970 Mustang BOSS 429 or MACH 1 429 any day over them Dodge/Plymouth cars (now enough with the pissing contest)
Abraham MendozaAug 16, 2012 Alright, but to me you sound like a fanboy yourself. I read your comments, and you say that the stang came first its better. And you say it will never go to ecoboost engines. How are you that sure? You aren't no engineer for Ford, so what makes you say that? With the way Ford is going, its a possibility.
Jordan HenryAug 16, 2012 Fanboy? Have you even been reading you're posts Bruce? To you if it's not Ford it's inferior.
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 Do your homework before you make bold statements, that way you wont sound like an idiot when we read it, ok FANBOYS!
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 Im saying the Challenger looks good but basically inferior the the other two cars (especially the 5.0) JORDAN
Stephen Tyler LearnAug 16, 2012 All the magazines I saw picked the zl1 over the gt500. Road and track, motortrend, automobile , and car and driver
Josh ?hompsonAug 16, 2012 Who said that all car critics picked the mustang? There were many higher up magazines that picked the camaro
Jordan HenryAug 16, 2012 Also in terms of power how did the Mustang and Camaro compare to the 1970 Challenger and Cuda? They didn't. This isn't coming from just me. This is from Ford and Chevy guys that have owned one of both or that lost in a street race back in the day.
Jordan HenryAug 16, 2012 @Bruce. Tell me what your point is exactly? The Mustang and Camaro came out first. Oh I'm shaking in my shoes. Lol. Here is a history lesson for you Bruce. The Plymouth Barracuda came out before the Mustang.
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 @Abraham, since 1964 Ford has never cut production of the Mustang, they might have made a few ugly ones over the years(like the Mustang 2) but they kept refining it & trust me when I say this they will NEVER get rid of the 5.0 for a bullshit ecoboost engine!
Abraham MendozaAug 16, 2012 I have to say, I pledged myself to Chevy, so I'm biased. But what they did to the Camaro was a little wrong. They rushed it, they needed the money so I don't think they could've done what they wanted. For a had all the time they needed and it shows. But once they start putting ecoboost engines in the Stang, they'll lose all credibility. Next Camaro will be outstanding.
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 This history lesson is free of charge (this time) ha ha ha
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 @Jordan, it was 1964 when Ford started making the Mustang then in Chevy made the Camaro in 1966 & sold it as a 1967 model; in 1970 Dodge made its first Challengers
Jordan HenryAug 16, 2012 The Challenger is heavy but it only weighs 50lbs more than the ZL1. This is only going off what I found on google. The Challenger at 4170lbs and the ZL1 at 4120lbs. I'm not sure if the gas tanks are full or not on these figures.
Corey Alan KelleyAug 16, 2012 *sigh* riced out FWD Hondas get like a million mpg
Jordan JacksonAug 16, 2012 GM only made the camaro because the mustang was such a huge success (referring to the '60's)
Jordan JacksonAug 16, 2012 Thank you Austin, you have an excellent point, without the mustang there's no camaro of any kind, just remember that Adam, lol
Dillon DixonAug 16, 2012 For all the people saying the ZL1 beats the GT500 on any track anytime, you're wrong. The only issue with the GT500 is the brakes, which can easily be fixed.
Patrick SchalkAug 16, 2012 The Challenger doesn't suck. It's just different.
Austin LarkAug 16, 2012 We all have our favorites. Mines te Camaro but I can't bash on a mustang with that much power and that kind of sound and a challenger that looks that amazing. Be thankful there's competition that brings out the best in each of them and stop arguing.
Jordan JacksonAug 16, 2012 Except now of the cars mentioned here are muscle cars.... They're pony cars
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 @Jordan Dodge has been slacking with the Challenger: 1. Its too heavy 2. The SRT cost alot more then a base SS or 5.0 that has a 400+ hp motor 3. Now Mustang & Camaro has 3 different hi-po models, Dodge dont (its not even close Jordan)
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 @Pat you know they dealers will hit you over the head when the 1LE comes out (they will over charge you just like with the Boss 302)
Patrick SchalkAug 16, 2012 Each have their pros and cons. I'd be happy to have any of them. This thing looks mean as hell btw. I want a 1LE.
tysquirrel10s Aug 16, 2012 Val you only say handling doesn't matter because you know the zl1 would smoke the gt500 on any track any where
Zachary MaurerAug 16, 2012 Uhhh this is going to turn into a fanboy competition I see, with Adam, I do think that the stang and camaro are pretty even, and the challenger falling a little short, but it's the only N/A out of the 3, so I give dodge props to sticking with true..
Jordan HenryAug 16, 2012 Oh yeah, that Challenger was also an automatic.
Jordan HenryAug 16, 2012 Does anyone remember the 2011 Spectre 341 Challenge? A stock 2011 SRT Challenger came in 12th out of 37, beating a Ferrari California. And most of the cars that entered was modified.
Val BarataAug 16, 2012 I honestly don't see why anybody would buy this particular Camaro. The GT500 has it beat, said all the critics, and if your a Chevy guy, just buy the vette...
Val BarataAug 16, 2012 Ok, let's say the muscle car market has changed. These muscle cars, including the ZL1 are still blown out of the water by pretty much anything else. Like I said, of you want a circuit tool, buy a corvette. Only a little bit more than ZL1.
Jordan HenryAug 16, 2012 All you Camaro and Mustang guys need to remember that the Challenger is naturally aspirated. If you supercharge it, it would be just as fast as those two.
Eric AnthonyAug 16, 2012 This car has an ls engine, you can make if have as much power as tha gt500, easily.
John SerelyAug 16, 2012 IMO, I'd take the GT500, I prefer the looks and the power. If I am buying a 50k muscle car, than I want power. If I am spending 50k for a good handling car that's fast, then I'd take a cayman (s).
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 I knew it wasn't going to be long before the ZL1, GT5, & CHALLENGER comparison come up! Smh
Chris CookAug 16, 2012 Id have the zl1 because I want the looks and sounds like a muscle car and a car that I can take to a circuit and go around corners because I have real suspension. And it's a car that I can take to the dragstrip because it has 580hp
Josh KnightAug 16, 2012 *sigh* the mustang will always be better
All those match ups between the two almost always ends with the Stang victorious
Val BarataAug 16, 2012 If you want a track car buy a corvette...
Val BarataAug 16, 2012 As much as I love the challenger that's true, it's overpriced and just not as good as Camaro or stang. And you Camaro People can rant on all you want about handling and stuff cuz that's all the Camaro has. That's not even the point of a muscle car...
Val BarataAug 16, 2012 *sigh* the GT500 is the best right now... Sorry...

Jordan JacksonAug 16, 2012 "Hi, I'm Johnny Knoxville, and I'm going to the moon."
Corey Alan KelleyAug 16, 2012 Haha Johnny knoxville I didn't see that coming
Sammy DhaliwalAug 20, 2012 Adam control that his opinion you have your and be independent
Colby ChurchAug 17, 2012 *lack. And part of seeing the Corvette and admiring it for what it is, is knowing where it came from and what it stands for and really appreciating its legacy and heritage. It has been around 60 years continuously. Thats an achievement. Gotta respect
Avery WilliamsAug 16, 2012 Totally agree with you Robert. Hopefully in the next 10 to 20 years Chevy will bring back the Chevelle name. Hell, maybe even sooner!
Andrew HossannAug 16, 2012 The looks of the corvette aren't really showcased that well in pictures especially this one
Abraham MendozaAug 16, 2012 Robert, about a million people are with you on that.
Robert YoungAug 16, 2012 Not a fan of the camaros..... Vettes yes. Just waiting for them to bring out the chevelle's.
Corey Alan KelleyAug 16, 2012 Chuck Norris is in the engine bay and he's gonna pedal this bitch like Fred flinatonw
Greg LewisAug 16, 2012 Easy, Arnold is no stranger to American muscle, drives a challenger SRT8. The drug lord in the vette, Lindsay Lohan. He never gout out of second before she hit something....
Zachary MaurerAug 16, 2012 Dude if chuck Norris was here, it would be over before it started.
Ivan RyzhovAug 16, 2012 Has no one here ever seen a movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger in it? He'd catch them even if he was driving a Chevy aveo!
bryan126Aug 16, 2012 he's going to blow up the zr1 to catch him
Corey Alan KelleyAug 16, 2012 He's playing a sheriff.. All sheriffs are old guys
Zachary MaurerAug 16, 2012 Alex should be dead from Arnold coming to his house and throwing him into a main road in about....3 hours, give or take :D
Mike CasseltonAug 16, 2012 You're gonna get old some day too. It's good to see he is getting back into shape and making movies that are fun to watch. Plus, we need some new one-liners...
Bruce-Almighty TumblinAug 16, 2012 "Old man" Arnold is making a come back! (a little to late huh)
David JusticeAug 16, 2012 Exactly what I was thinking Christian.
A gt500 chasing it would've been even more epic
@Adam Maybe if it was a Hennessy ZL1 :)
@Adam. It's a movie....
But can't it be done tastefully? Such as vanishing point?
I cant stand movies that put too much emphasis on a car manufacturer. Transformers is the queen of sponsoring cars
Gm turns movies into big commercials.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is gonna be driving it, that's how
