The JK8 conversion kit has been out for awhile. The Gladiator concept has been out for even longer.
Lyomp Aug 14, 2012
Why is it that theres one sitting in my local mall? I thought theyve been making these for awhile now
Wissam Nasr Aug 14, 2012
I saw one on display at a Dubai jeep dealership last week. Looked great in black
Angel G. Ortega-Valentin Aug 14, 2012
That's the JK8 conversion kit from Mopar, not an actual production model , AEV also has their own kit for the two and four door model; personally I like those better. Especially the 4dr. called Brute, look it up.
Zachary Maurer Aug 14, 2012
Yep, there was one in frankenmouth michigan for 35,000, who wants it
Mason W Meador Aug 14, 2012
They already are selling them in dealerships in Virginia
Turbo_geoduck Aug 14, 2012
hell yeah, Angel!
Angel G. Ortega-Valentin Aug 14, 2012
Someone google Jeep J8 Sarge....they basically already have the pickup but this is a military spec truck that is sold in other markets...I say put some creature comforts in it and sell the thing to consumers in the states...
Andrew Palmer Aug 17, 2012
Saw one of those mini-bed conversions at a local dealership here in Colorado springs...look cool, but the 3 ft bed doesn't look terribly useful...
Preston Harris Aug 15, 2012
I actually kind of like it...
Riley Di Pol Aug 14, 2012
Just get a brute through AEV
Lance Boudreaux Aug 14, 2012
About time they make it an they make is ugly wow
Anton Zhukov Aug 14, 2012
It's not going to sell well unless they have extended and crew cabs available. How often do you see single cabs? Just as work trucks mainly. I'm guessing less then 10% of sales. PS. I dream of diesel wranglers.
Patrick Schalk Aug 14, 2012
Wyatt, to have a bed and not have to worry if you're gonna tear anything up. Same as a normal truck except this will go places a normal truck can't.
Turbo_geoduck Aug 14, 2012
it would be awesome, but Americans would soon be demanding a four-door version. not that I'd mind a four-door... HEY! I want a four-door Jeep pickup! (with a small diesel engine)
Wyatt Gordon Aug 14, 2012
looks ok, but just one question? what's the point of this? thats just IMO, no need to jump on my ass
Jarod Forsythe Aug 14, 2012
I saw a conversion at a lot a few months ago. it was very cool, but you could tell it'd be rust happy in a few years.
Taylor Garry Aug 14, 2012
He's right. Now that i think about it i eat salmon at least 5 times a week
John Serely Aug 14, 2012
I love this! I would really like to do this to my jeep!
Nick Benz Aug 14, 2012
Wtf miguel? Salmon?
Miguel Flores Aug 14, 2012
America isn't all about trucks It's also about eating steak and SALMON
Carlton Salmon Aug 14, 2012
I'm surprised it's taken so long for Jeep to have a pickup version of the Wrangler? Being that Americans love their pickups it seemed an obvious choice to someone like me from across the pond.
Matt Piccolo Aug 14, 2012
I don't like the wrangler, but this actually looks pretty sick
Jimmy Williams Aug 14, 2012
With a small displacement diesel. I'll take two.
Ben August Aug 14, 2012
I would have bought this earlier this year, but all Jeep had...SUVs. I don't need an suv...so I didn't buy Jeep. Sad.
Miguel Flores Aug 14, 2012
I'll take two please.
Christo Savaides Aug 14, 2012
This would sell really well.
Description: In order to keep people satisfied, however, Jeep enlisted the help of Mopar to build an aftermarket conversion kit called JK8 which converted a standard Wrangler into the closest thing to a pickup. Bu...

Well if Jeep sticks to its previous records it should be in showrooms for 2017.
Description: Aside from the conventional two- and four-door bodystyles, Jeep is still determining whether a pickup version will have two or four doors (or both). They're being cautious at this point because, ...

They should just make it like the old CJ8 Scrambler. That would still give the ability to have a pickup and still be a Wrangler.
Jimmy Bartolotta Aug 15, 2012
The wheelbase is fine. But the JKs are the new full size(admitted the 4 doors) and that's because they're a lot wider than previous Wranglers/CJs.
Patrick Schalk Aug 15, 2012
Its not too small for a 4BT Cummins. Plenty of people have done that. Good swap
Gregory Allen Diemert Aug 15, 2012
to small for cummins. and seen the conceppt of this one (concept looks better)
Bill Estep Jr Aug 14, 2012
Anybody know what's on the roof it looks maybe removable
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
There is no way it would sell better than the F Series. It wouldnt have the payload and towing to match it. Its competiton would be mainly the Tacoma, the new Colorado, and the Frontier.
Justin Brest Aug 14, 2012
umm yeah this is great. I've been looking at buying a ford ranger and would also like to upgrade to a newer jeep from my tj. This would literally be an all in one solution and maybe even save some money! so far I'm pretty sold. I wonder what its towing capacity would be...
Patrick Schalk Aug 14, 2012
The wheelbase is fine for rock crawling but going through tight trails is a PITA. Mine got scratched the hell up in the woods
Danny Reed Aug 14, 2012
I like it. The wheelbase is too long for serious off roading though.
John Serely Aug 14, 2012
I would love to see a conversion kit or something to make the Mighty FC concept, that was great
Patrick Schalk Aug 14, 2012
The Gladiator concept has been out for forever. I'm not believing shit until Chrysler actually makes it. I doubt they will. It's too much of a gamble. They would need to put a Hemi in it to be worth anything.
boldcars Aug 14, 2012
practicality wise: perfect. looks: terrible
Craig Lafey Aug 14, 2012
Starting to like these. Still don't know how i feel about the tire on the side like that.
Aaron Crisp Aug 14, 2012
I would love a Wrangler but I need a truck! Give me this and it's a guaranteed sale.
Matt Sutton Aug 14, 2012
I'll take a 4 door w/o the spare on the side. A dealer near me has a black wrangler w the pick up conversion and it looks pretty good. But its been sitting on the lot for quite some time now.
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
It would sell like girl scout cookies.
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
It makes sense that they would build one since they cut out the Dakota. Earlier this year they were talking about bringing back a small truck so if it was based in the Wrangler it would already have a large clientel to begin with.
Cory Poteet Aug 14, 2012
This thing looks burly, but I really hope jeep sticks to there word and builds their truck off a wrangler and not this rebodied ram
Andrew Palmer Aug 17, 2012
This is what I saw at the dealership...
Hunter Wolfe Aug 14, 2012
I bet the wheel base is a little longer looking in person
Turbo_geoduck Aug 14, 2012
OOHHH! me likey! the only thing it needs is a certain nut holding the steering wheel (me).
John Serely Aug 14, 2012
I like this one alot more!
Nick Benz Aug 14, 2012
Its stubby so you can take it off road. You cant offroad very well if your wheelbase is a mile long
Jack Howard Aug 15, 2012
Yeah my friends mom has an old FJ40.
Bill Estep Jr Aug 14, 2012
Nevermind I reread it yes new ones I thought u put somethin else lol
Bill Estep Jr Aug 14, 2012
@bill I've never seen moms dropping kids off in an old FJ that said lol I rarely see any around at all there awesome but I most of the time I see minivans
Alex Vasquez Aug 14, 2012
Comfort. Not to be a dick again but remember the purpose of these vehicles.
Alex Vasquez Aug 14, 2012
Bill not really, I see so many new land cruisers all rigged up for good open country adventure. Winches bumpers, racks, tires, two spare tires, lifts, off reading jack, snorkels, extra lights.. Ect. Despite the face that the moms do drive them for..
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
When you say that there are no Toyota SUVs that go offroad, thats not an opinion. He was ignoring the FACT that FJ cruisers and 4runners dont go offroad. So therefore he is being ignorant. Ignorant is derived from ignore. Woo!!!
Justin Brest Aug 14, 2012
man, the word "ignorant" is thrown around Like nothn here. just cause someone has a difference of opinion or experience they're IGNORANT! wtf lol
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
Im in the Sierra Nevadas in California and i see them all the time. 90% of the vehicles that kids drive at our school are trucks and a lot of them are 4runners and toyota pickups.
Patrick Schalk Aug 14, 2012
Haha I live in Oklahoma. Not far from Texas. Yeah maybe an old 4Runner and the occasional FJ.
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
I just think its cool that Toyota, the company that makes the stupid PRIUS, still has 4 body on frame SUVs.
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
If youre actually telling me that 4runners dont go offroad let alone the FJ Cruiser, then youre being pretty ignorant.
Alex Vasquez Aug 14, 2012
@patrick I don't know where you live but every now and then in Texas you will see one of these models with a lift and a snorkel.. Maybe not used for offroading where you're from. And they're used in europe too. Not to be a dick or anything but they..
Justin Brest Aug 14, 2012
come to think about it... isn't Jeep´┐Ż? the only all suv company? Next to the Chevy Suburban I believe the wrangler is the longest running production suv ever
Patrick Schalk Aug 14, 2012
Yes, all of which don't go offroad.
Alex Vasquez Aug 14, 2012
Ohho! Yes all offroading line of vehicles
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
AND the 4runner?
Jack Howard Aug 14, 2012
Wouldnt that company be Toyota seeing as they have the Rav4, Highlander, FJ Cruiser, Sequioa, Land Cruiser, and then the Lexus counterparts of those?
Patrick R. Manuel Aug 14, 2012
Dodge Bronco? Ever heard of the Ramcharger? And Chevy makes SUVs, heard of the Suburban and Tahoe? A K5 Blazer remake would be great!
Mike Casselton Aug 14, 2012
looks like a big Suzuki samauri. i like it
Turbo_geoduck Aug 14, 2012
or a Dodge Bronco. (think 426 Hemi, baby!).
Wyatt Gordon Aug 14, 2012
@Bill, or a Saleen Bronco! lol
David Pires-Ihsaan Aug 14, 2012
Somebody should make a bronco remake! (Not ford. They would turn it into a hybrid crossover.)
Bill Estep Jr Aug 14, 2012
I wonder if they did something like the bronco n had a removable top to keep that wrangler look
