Vintech P550 Tribute Set for Pebble Beach

Modern interpretation of the classic Porsche 550 Spyder will be unveiled at Pebble Beach.

At next week's Pebble Beach event, French automaker Vintech will reveal the P550 Tribute, a new stylistic interpretation of the 1953 Porsche 550 Spyder. The new car will feature a carbon-fiber body, brand new chassis and 3.0-liter flat-four with a "Carrera engine" fan and five-speed transmission. Output is expected at around 260 - 270 horsepower, which coupled with a featherlite 550 kg curb weight should make the 550 Spyder tribute a swift ride.

Judging by these images and the gallery of pre-production photos, we can clearly see that this is no ordinary kit car, but rather something quite special. No word yet if Vintech has larger production plans, but they'll likely wait for the public's reaction before coming to a decision. More information and live pictures of the car are expected once the car rears its pretty head at Pebble Beach on August 17th.
