Rolls-Royce Marks the London Olympics with a Special Edition Trio

Three special edition Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II Drophead Coupes have arrived in London.

The biggest highlight of the closing ceremony of the XXX Olympiad was the much-anticipated reunion of the Spice Girls. While the CarBuzz crew was lost in an epic rendition of "Wannabe," three exquisite and bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II Drophead Coupes made an appearance during British singer Jessie J's performance. The Spice Girls may have entered on black London taxis, however Jessie J entered and performed out of the back of the exclusive Rolls.

Fitted for the first time in the 108 years since the British brand's inception were new badges, replacing the iconic R-R. The new grille badge features the Spirit of Ecstasy carrying a Union Jack flag instead of her usual dress. The steering wheel center has also been changed to include a traditional laurel wreath and torch while the wheels carry the Olympic logo "Citius, Altius, Fortius" ("Faster, Higher, Stronger"). "I am delighted that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars was invited to take part in celebrating the success of the Games and it is appropriate that we should recognize this occasion with a fitting tribute," said RR Chief Exec. Torsten Muller-Otvos.

"These unique cars were hand built at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood by our dedicated and passionate workforce and the whole team can take great pride in their part in making history for our company." Designed to be one of the most collectable and possibly unobtainable of all Rolls-Royces to date, the special Olympic edition Phantom Series II Drophead Coupe has been finished in English White and features limited edition one-of-three plaques.
