LR Defender Rolls in with New X-Tech Edition

The special edition Defender combines military appeal and ruggedness with some added creature comforts and unique trim.

Land Rover's iconic Defender is a favorite among off-roaders worldwide, and a big part of its appeal is its no-frills, military-grade approach. This latest model, however, gives it an even meaner attitude. Called the X-Tech, the enhanced off-roader packs some slick new touches to set it apart from other Defenders on the old dusty trail. Enhancements start off with two new colors: Orkney Grey and Nara Bronze.

From there, Land Rover gives the X-Tech model a blacked-out roof panel and wheel arches, checkered bumper and side sills, and special badging. LED lights in the rear finish off the exterior's changes from the standard Defender, riding atop a set of 16-inch Saw Tooth wheels wrapped in MTR off-road tires. Available in both three-door hard-top and five-door wagon body styles, the special edition packs an interior complete with a two-tone Ebony and Almond trim with contrasting Nutmeg stitching on the seats and steering wheel.

Air-conditioning, heated seats and windshield and ABS are all included as standard equipment on the special edition off-roader. Running on the standard 2.2-liter diesel engine with six-speed manual gearbox, the Defender X-Tech starts in the UK at £27,995 for the hard-top and £32,995 for the utility wagon.
