Description: Introduced in 2004 as a 2005 model, the first thing that needs to be said about the Type 997 is that Porsche worked out the headlight situation. This is perhaps significant, because although the mecha...Add Comments0
Paul DickeyJul 06, 2012 There's always that one person that doesn't get it.
Austin LarkJul 06, 2012 Yeah they can handle great I can admit that and they are great all around cars. I just don't like the looks of them. they all have a beetle looking from end and the same kind of body style through the entire lineup.
Calogero RumeoJul 06, 2012 Porsche is one of the best companies out there and if you're gonna talk smack about it, then I don't think you know too much about cars. I'm sure if you ever drove in a Porsche Austin you wouldn't be saying this.
Edward JangJul 06, 2012 More than 100 features and designs are different if you are intrested in little.
Joe LamoukJul 06, 2012 Why are you so obsessed with 0-60 ? Handling is the real point of interest.
John SerelyJul 06, 2012 @austin if you know about them, they look very different, and if you pay about 160k or so, you get a car that goes from 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Also, magazines have gotten 0-60 times under 4 seconds for thr 991 911 carrera s, so you obviously dont know what your talking about hahaha...
Austin LarkJul 06, 2012 As I said before you have to pay upwards of 100 grand to get anywhere near a 4 second 0-60. Turbo s is more than 150,000.
Chris PenzaJul 06, 2012 I was just about to say no Volkswagen beetle comparisons. And Austin the gt3 rs does 0-60 in less than 4 seconds, and the turbo s does it in about 3
Austin LarkJul 06, 2012 I've never understood what's so great about a Porsche. They almost all look the same and u don't get anything below a 4.5 0-60 time until pay 100 grand for one. Pretty much pricy beetles that have been flattened out.
John SerelyJul 06, 2012 Looks great, color works on this car
Chris GainesJul 06, 2012 still don't like the beetle headlights
Devin BabynJul 06, 2012 This gen is just gorgeous. Such an improvement over the others
Tobias MersingerJul 06, 2012 Now that's a look I like. Just beautiful...
Description: The look of the car is, again, mostly the same as the 996, with the major exception being the headlights. The back of the car is now 3.5 inches wider, although there were enough widebody variants of t...Add Comments0

Kyle KloewerJul 06, 2012 I think it means 412 since on the next page it says a larger engine produced 493
Brandon LidyJul 06, 2012 911 had might as well be its own brand now, damn
Walker CarrollJul 06, 2012 The GT2s have turbos. Not GT3s
Tobias MersingerJul 06, 2012 612 hp and no awd... THIS is heaven.
Carlton SalmonJul 06, 2012 Agreed, but not sure why they'd leave the rear lid up in the photo...
Description: Lastly, there is the GT3 RS 4.0, in which the enlarged engine produces 493 horsepower. Just wait for the full lineup of the Type 991 to be unveiled, you can bet this will only get more complicated. Th...Add Comments1
Mark BoultonJul 06, 2012 WOW! There is so much Gen 1 and Gen 2 information intermixed here its crazy! The 997.1 Turbo used the 964 based engine! One of the most notable differences in the 997.2 Turbo was Porsche used the Non-aircooled engine, it is the Carrera Engine.
Description: This made for even smother application of power than even 996's sequential system. The 997 Turbo was even faster than the Porsche Carrera GT, a V10-powered supercar released just two years prior,...Add Comments2
Mark BoultonJul 07, 2012 Yeah, im not to inpressed with how the information was laid out here- it reads well but the information is very jumbled
Paul RankinJul 07, 2012 Shaves seconds off of every shift?
Dillon DixonJul 06, 2012 I'm obsessed with this color scheme for this GT3 RS. It's perfect.
Carlton SalmonJul 06, 2012 Would so love to drive one of these one day. Would love to own the 4.0 litre version in my dream collection as it's my favourite 911.
